The new Indian League franchise got their squads ready during the week, with a fantasy league type
auction.
The six week run tournament, seen each team bid for an "Icon" player and a foreign coach set up
in the same style as the Indian one day cricket format currently used to great effect.
Like an outdated fantasy league auction, the new Premier League Soccer featuring six teams based
in the eastern Indian state of West Bengal bid for the rights to sign several "icon" players."
Hernan Crespo, who scored nine goals for Parma last season, drew the highest bid and went for
$840,000 (£536,000) at the sprightly age of 36.

Who wants to live forever, the questioned once proffered by moustachioed, hip-thruster,
Frederick Mercury. That's a good one, Fred, but the way this summer's panned out, I rather think I
know what that might feel like. So it's a no thank you from me.
Now here's one for you folks. Perhaps not as existentially challenging, but important
nonetheless.

GK Ben Foster Birmingham
One of the only reasons Birmingham aren't in the bottom three. Foster has been consistent all
season pulling a few worldy's along the way.
LB Leighton Baines Everton
An exceptional season for the leagues best left back.
With ESPN's Fantasy League having the odd rules of "roster set by Tuesday" there were several
last-minute injuries that hurt people in MLS Fantasy Soccer this week. Locally the best example was
Fredy Montero. Nationally the example was Charlie Davies going from likely starter (and goal
scorer) to on the bench over the weekend.

11Gunners Fantasy League
Regular readers of my blog will know that I have being running a league on the official Fantasy
Premier League site this season with the help of 11Gunners. At the start of the season I had hoped
to get up to 300 teams in the league, and I promised trophies for the first three teams if that was
the case.
The best thing about National Holidays falling midweek, is that they make the whole week seem
really short. And allows one to stay up and watch midweek games well into the wee hours of the
morning without worries of being late for anything. Thank you, Constitution of India.
