With the news this week of two new nuclear reactors to be built in Augusta, Georgia, The Masters

CARSON, Calif. -- For months, people have awaited Brian Ching's first match against the Houston
Dynamo.
After being left unprotected by Houston in the expansion draft, Ching threatened retirement
before eventually being selected by the Montreal Impact.
Fabio Capello has resigned as England manager. The fallout from The FA's decision to remove John
Terry's England captaincy must certainly have been a key issue in the decision by the Italian to
resign. The decision by Capello to resign ...

The fallout from last week's El Clasico loss was astounding. The fallout from the coming El Clasico
– should we lose (which is a likely event) will perhaps be equally astounding. . The players are
shit – we need to buy 6 new players. We need a new defense We need a new midfield, We need better
strikers.
It's undoubtedly been a bad few weeks for the club. Speaking to a friend before the United match I
suggested that the previous five weeks had been the worst I'd seen us consistently play as a team
in the 15 years I've been going to Arsenal. And after the match, we remain pointless in 2012.
But I do think people have suffered from raised expectations.
Sacrificial lamb?
The fallout from the defeat to Swansea has been dire and depressing. The "Wenger OUT!!"
brigade has come out in full force after going into hiding for a good few months now. Granted, they
had no reason to voice their concern during that period. What with the wins that we kept racking up
and the continual move up the table.
[W]ith the fallout from recent incidents involving Luis Suarez and Patrice Evra, and John Terry and
Anton Ferdinand, dominating the back pages, racism in English football is once again a hot topic.
An opportune time, then, to ask Stan Horne about (among other things) his experiences as the first
ever black player for a trio of current Premier League clubs: Villa, Fulham and his beloved Man
City.
The Seattle Sounders continued their active offseason on Wednesday, officially announcing the
signing of 23-year-old fullback/midfielder Christian Sivebaek. The move has been rumored since late
December, and the player himself had even confirmed the deal.
"Christian is a player that we have been following for quite some time," Sounders technical
director Chris Henderson said in a team release.

Guardian: Liverpool seek talks with Manchester United over Luis Suárez
affair
• Liverpool keen on talks before 11 February fixture • Uruguayan could return after ban at
Old Trafford Liverpool officials are to request top-level talks with their Manchester United
counterparts, in an attempt to defuse tensions before the two clubs meet at Old Trafford on 11
February.
Excuse me while I cough up an organ, momentarily- I've just made the dreadful mistake of going
on a post-New Year jog in weather I can only describe as ‘a bit blustery'. If I don't crumple
onto the keyboard before the day's out it'll be a minor
miracleeeeeeeeertttttttttttttyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyhjjj.
The Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) chief executive Gordon Taylor has rejected Luis
Suarez's claim of innocence that the term he used against Patrice Evra is not racist in Uruguay as
the fallout following the Liverpool striker's ban continues.
Suarez is alleged to have called Evra 'negrito', claiming it is not offensive in his native
country, but Taylor believes the forward is still in the wrong.
Ignorance is all too common
It seems there is no shortage of ‘look at me' columnists or radio shock-jocks ready to stick
the knife into Liverpool following this week's events and the fallout from the Suarez-Evra verdict.
It was like Christmas had come early, albeit by a few days, with a topic they could talk about from
atop their high horses without wasting valuable festive drinking time by bothering to do any
research on it.
Here is what we don't need. In the summer the CONCACAF region was right in the midst of the
Mohammed Bin Hammam scandal after Chuck Blazer revealed a money for votes rigging scheme that
involved officials of the Caribbean Football Union receiving wads of cash from Bin Hammam for their
support to replace Sepp Blatter as FIFA president.
The latest episode of Victorycast, victoryblog.net's Melbourne Victory podcast is now available for
download! This week we discuss the fallout from Francis Awaritefe's departure and the pressures on
Mehmet Durakovic on his players, review the Gold Coast game and look ahead to this weeks match up
against Newcastle.
In this week's review section, we look back at stories from the big Manchester derby and the
fallout from the racism row with England captain John Terry and QPR defender Anton Ferdinand.
Sonny Silooy was a terrific footballer who climbed to the pinnacle of world
soccer with AFC Ajax and the Dutch National Team (that's him with Edgar Davids in the 1996 UEFA
Champions League Final). He also broke my finger on Tuesday. Well maybe, as the fallout from this
most recent debacle has yet to be determined.

After a fortnight of ridiculous palaver, Man City announced last night that Carlos Tevez had
been found guilty on five separate counts of breaching his contract on that fateful night in Munich
and duly fined the Argentinian striker four week's wages for the dubious crime of 'refusing to warm
up' against Bayern.
It hasn't exactly been the best of weeks in the land of Chels. This QPR dust-up seems to be
lingering, and the fallout only now taking shape. As such, the FA have charged AVB over his
incendiary comments pertaining to the officials, and John Terry appears to be in the midst of
another wrangle with the authorities after the internet decided he was guilty of saying some shit
to Anton Ferdinand.
The question of how to divide international television rights and just what's fair is, at the
end of the day, hugely complex. It touches on dozens of other issues that effect league parity and
directly mirrors a much older debate about the sharing of gate revenue. There's greed and
self-preservation behind every corner, and it's all set against the backdrop of a thoroughly broken
system that nobody seems especially interested in fixing in any meaningful way.
Chuck Blazer's run as secretary general of CONCACAF will come to a close at the end of this
year.
Blazer told the Associated Press that he'll be resigning from his post in December after a
21-year run in the position. Blazer added that he will maintain his position on FIFA's executive
committee, for which he won't potentially be up for re-election until 2013.
Rafa Benitez's final season at Liverpool was blighted by injuries, and whilst much of it was
self-inflicted (i.e buying the injured Alberto Aquilani), injuries are, sadly, a brutal
inevitability of football, especially at the highest level. The fallout can be managed though, and
in an article on his new website, Benitez discusses how injuries affected his time at Anfield.
A corker from Champagne Charlie If you thought you knew the reasons for Carlos Tevez's fallout with
Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini, think again. You only know half the story. Here's Sky

Manchester City have suspended Carlos Tevez after it was alleged he refused to appear as a

Tevez who said the dispute was a "misunderstanding", is suspended until further notice for a

A statement on the Man City web site said:

After a debacle like our 3-0 fallout against Kansas City, it's just kind of hard to know what to
say or do as a mixture of emotions surface. There's anger, sadness, despair, rage, angst, and we'll
just stop there as my gut is now on fire.
These are common manifestations of grief. To borrow from the landmark book, On Death and Dying,
grieving guru Elisabeth Kübler-Ross describes grief as a cycle in 5 stages.

Michael Dawson has moved quickly to deny any rumours of unrest at the club after reports in
today's press suggested that he was unhappy with his current pay. The Sun (!) quotes their source
as saying,
"Michael feels under-valued. He's been offered a derisory pay rise by Levy. He feels he's really
proved his worth to the club and become one of their most important players yet this is how they
reward him,"
Meanwhile, Michael's statement on the club website reads,
"I have no idea where this story has come from it certainly has not come from myself or any of
my representatives.
Kia Joorabchian, part of Corinthians unsavoury MSI connection
All the stars point to a Carlos Tevez move to Corinthians. He wants to be closer to his
daughters and the Brazilian club is familiar territory leading them to the championship in 2005.
The most doubtful part is not how they could come up with £35m.
We realised that leaving Yoann Gourcuff out of the sixth iteration of our F5 list (due out
Monday!) would cause some fallout, but we weren't sure how large of a seismic disturbance would
disrupt our beauty sleep months after the initial blast. Nor were we prepared to find out.
Things continue to go wrong in New England. First there was Fortgate and the blatant mistreatment
of loyal Revolution fans by Bob Kraft's gestapo force and the Foxborough PD. Next the sham of a
meeting between the front office, a TeamOps rep and the supporters groups in which team COO Brian
Bilello and Kelly Way from TeamOps ignored the real issues brought up by supporters and tried to
push their ridiculous belief that the situation is all about bad language.
A few quick Tuesday notes here on the USMNT.

• The Daily Bob: Seems that the fallout from the Gold Cup is still
unclear.
Reached via email by the NY Times, USSF president Sunil Gulati issued the following

"We'll have something to say later this week.
