Newcastle held an open training session today and this man, the excellently-named Pete Toogood,
came in full dress full dress in its entirety. Though with his face paint and clear attempt, if
poor execution, at a cape of sorts, perhaps he's trying to be Newcastle's savior.
Everton has enjoyed pushing buttons with their kits. Blue ones, pink ones, terrible ones. The
standard is nice, really. Simple, classic. No frills.
This is not a no frills goalkeeper shirt. One can only imagine the idea is to make Tim Howard &
Co. seem invisible to the opposition, thus the ball will go directly to the keeper more often than
it would otherwise.
What a match. We were suddenly back to the United of old: the careless start then attacking
flair and literal bloody mindedness to win at any cost. There would always be blood, sweat and
tears at Bloomfield Road, just as there was at Burnley last year. I feared that before the match
and especially when we went a goal down early on.
