Here's a look at the weekend's biggest Premier League fixtures and the best bets to place this
weekend.
Manchester United v Liverpool
All eyes will be on Old Trafford this weekend when arch rivals Man United and Liverpool face off
in what promises to be a fiery encounter (12.
Continuing their preseason tradition of a Community Shield match to raise funds for charity
partners, the Seattle Sounders today announced that their opponent in the Feb. 29 7 PM match will
be Jaguares de Chiapas of the Mexican Primera. In a new twist, the match will be free and seating
on a first-come, first-serve basis, but the club will be accepting donations at the door.
Co-hosts Gabon looked like it was going to be headed to their best showing in any ACN when Eric
Mouloungui shot them into the lead in the 55th minute. But Mali had other ideas as Cheick Diabate
equalized in the 84th minute. At the end of extra time, with the two teams deadlocked, the fate of
the match was decided on PK shootout.
Tottenham and LIverpool both have Champions League aspirations, and both can boost their place
near the top of the English Premier League standings when they face off at Anfield today (2:55pm,
ESPN2).
Today features the return of Luis Suarez from his suspension for making racist remarks at
Manchester United's Patrice Evra, and Suarez will be key to trying to help the Reds climb up from
their current seventh-place position in the standings.
The U.S. Men's National Team will face off against their northern rival, Canada, on June 3rd, just

All-Stars, Le Toux rumors, and a new signing for the Philadelphia Independence are all part of
this week's KYW Philly Soccer Show.
In part one, KYW's Greg Orlandini and Philly Soccer Page writer Eli Pearlman-Storch kick of
this week's edition of the pod by talking about the MLS All-Star game, which will be held at PPL
Park, in Chester, Pa.
Liverpool face off against Manchester City on Wednesday evening in the second leg of the Carling
Cup semi final. Liverpool lead the affair 1-0 but with at least 90 minutes still to play the tie is
obviously very delicately poised. The second leg will take place at Anfield and with the home crowd
roaring them on Liverpool will consider themselves favourite and the more likely of the two teams
to succeed.
Who should MLS face off against this summer in the All-Star Game? (Getty Images)
Today we learned that Philadelphia and PPL Park would be home to this year's summer friendly for
Major League Soccer known as the All Star Game.
But what we don't know is who the MLS All Stars will be facing off against come July.
Real Madrid and Barcelona face off against each other in the 'El Clasico' Copa Del Rey
Quarter-Final first leg as Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola lock horns again. If Barcelona are God,
then Real Madrid must be the Devil. Because, for one to exist, the other must co-exist. Whereas,
one perceives themselves as the divine [.

CARSON, Calif. -- There were plenty of lessons learned on Friday as the United States senior
squad soundly defeated the U.S. Under-23's 4-0 in a scrimmage that took place on the Mooch Myernick
Field at the Home Depot Center complex.
It's that time of the year again when local pride is at stake in the numerous state
championships which are prevalent in the opening months of the Brazilian football calendar. From
Amapá in the far north to Rio Grande do Sul in the south, from Acre in the west to Paraíba in the
far east of the country, twenty seven regions of Brazil will be involved in their own local
championship, mixing the big boys with the smaller village teams, with each club hoping to win
their respective title and qualify for a place in next year's edition of the national cup, Copa
Brazil.

Comedy Club on the famous Catalan football sketch show....Crackovia! This week,
Zlatan Ibrahimovic excitedly discovers new information to add to his

his players for gaining weight during the Christmas holidays.
Big time changes are ahead for the CONCACAF Champions League. A change that will certainly help
out a couple MLS sides this summer.
Starting this summer, the two-leg preliminary round – in which 16 teams would face off in a
home-and-home series – has been eliminated. Instead, all 24 teams in the event will be drawn
straight into the group stage.
Brazilian Swag King Neymar arrived in Barcelona from Zurich last night to ...
(*drumroll courtesy of Sandro Rosell*)... film a sports commercial.
Unfortunately, he won't be staying in the city for very long and you can imagine how paranoid
Santos is about keeping him anywhere near the Blaugranas, especially since they both
share similar sponsorship agreements!
It's been a week of news for America's soccer league, but, as fate would have it, most of it has
taken place in the UK. With Henry making waves, Donovan about to face off against Dempsey, and Ream
possibly about to make a move, the Combine has been more than overshadowed by MLS's action in
Britain.
Remember when Brad Evans was essentially the eleventh man I put out because I didn't have anyone
else the vital cog in my last league champion team? Juergen Klinsmann did, or at least he did when
I called him up on the phone and reminded him. So now Brad is going to help the USMNT take the next
step (cf.

the country and will have over 350 college coaches on hand to evaluate the talent.

Klinsmann names January training camp roster, SJ makes the cut!
The US is set to host Venezuela on January 21st at University of Phoenix Stadium. On January
25th, the USMNT will face off against Panama in Panama City. This should provide some quality
competition for the US.
Even better news is that Jurgen is finally paying attention to Sean Johnson.
Universidad de Chile are the deserved winners of the 2011 Copa Sudamericana. Their 3-0 second
leg victory at home to LDU Quito last night completed a 4-0 aggregate win and brought with it the
chance to compete in next year's Copa Libertadores.
Eduardo Vargas, as so often in this competition, proved himself to be the hero for the
Chileans.
Another El Clasico is upon us Real Madrid hosts archrivals FC Barcelona at the majestic Santiago
Bernabeu for a Saturday night La Liga match (kickoff is at 10pmCET/9pmGMT/4pmEST).
This will be, remarkably, the 7th El Clasico of 2011: there were the four matches packed into 18
days last spring (two meetings in the Champions League semifinal, the Copa del Rey final, and their
2nd La Liga match of the season), plus there were two legs to the preseason Spanish Super Copa.

These days, Kelyn Rowe and Enzo Martinez have a great deal in common.
Both are playmakers for their teams with field vision that has pro scouts raving, and both are
candidates for Generation adidas deals following this NCAA season.
Real Madrid and Barcelona prepare to face off tomorrow in the much awaited clasico at the
Santiago Bernabeu. The match will offer hosts Madrid the chance to extend their lead over Barcelona
should they win and keep them level on points with the Catalans in case they lose.
A loss however is not on the mind of Jose Mourinho who is looking to extend Madrid's 9 game home
winning streak.
STARTERSA new champion will be crowned in Argentina this weekend, and most likely in Brazil too.
UEFA EURO 2012The draw for the group stage of UEFA Euro 2012 tournament, hosted by Poland and Ukraine, was held
today and here are the groups:
The tournament kicks off on Fri Jun 8 at National Stadium Warsaw in Warsaw, Poland.
The draw for Euro 2012 has been made and the fixture list has also been drawn out marking England's
plot to the final in Kiev come 1, July. Interestingly enough, should Fabio Capello's men emerge
from Group D unscathed, they will face-off against what is likely to be Spain or Italy in the

"Oi! Squarepants! Noooo!!!"
I'm pretty sure that's the first and last time I'm ever going to write those words in that
order, but rest assured you read them correctly: ex-Liverpool winger Ryan Babel had a bit of a
benny with an ex-convict Spongebob Squarepants at a children's party after Spongebob 'took his head
off' and started blowing cigarette smoke in the kid's faces.
The young one putting one over the old figure
The last of the Carling Cup quarterfinal fixtures were completed yesterday and surprisingly,
Crystal Palace advanced to the next stage. Which leaves Manchester City, Liverpool and Cardiff as
the other teams capable of winning this competition. The draw sees the Premier League sides face
off against each other and whoever comes out victorious from that clash will probably win this
cup.
Hoffenheim man's sweary exchange with TV character Ex-Liverpool star Ryan Babel picked an unlikely
fight with kids' cartoon character Spongebob Squarepants over his smoking habits. The Hoffenheim
attacker explained on Twitter how he fell out with a children's entertainer dressed as the TV
character this week.
With giant killer Crystal Palace and Cardiff City looming in the Carling Cup semifinals, you can
forgive Liverpool and Manchester City for not wanting to play each other. But they do.
The two Premier League giants drew each other in the semifinal that will begin in Manchester in
early January.
With the 2011 Nike International Friendlies about to kick off in Lakewood Ranch, Fla., the U.S.
opens play against a rather familiar opponent in France.
The U.S. U-17s are playing this tournament coming off a three-week trip to Spain and France in
October, during which they had seven games, including one against France.
There are no undercards today, but despite but might be better quality soccer in Arsenal vs.
Dortmund on the day, the main drama to watch is in Group H with Barcelona with only a short bus
ride head to the San Siro, where Zlatan will again face off against his Spanish nemesis Pep
Guardiola.
You wanted to follow along yesterday.
Europe's premier footballing competition the Champions League resumes today with fixtures that
could mark the end of the journey for 16 teams. All teams will be left with one group match after
this round of fixtures however, many will not want to take any chances on their qualification to
the next round.
