Fabrizio Miccoli has really become the undisputed leader of Palermo. The diminutive fantasista,
or il Romario del Salento as he is so aptly nicknamed, has been putting in great
performances this season and had a great year last season, and it looks like he has finally found a
place to show all of his talent.

The Great Serie A Game posts continue with Roma-Juve 2003/2004. The 2003/2004 season was an
interesting one. Milan, fresh from a Champions League victory and with some new young Brazilian
player named Kaka, were dominating Serie A. While Marcello Lippi's Juve looked to
be favorites to combat the Rossoneri to the Scudetto, it was not the case.

At the end of last season news filtered out of Italy the Serie A was following the lead of the
English Premier League by voting to split away from Serie B. This move was officially approved
today and Serie A will now operate as its own separate entity, no longer having to share revenue
with Serie B.

After new Palermo manager Walter Zenga announced that his goal this season was to win the
Scudetto, it was hard to hold back the chuckles. Not because they're that bad they finished 8th
last season and have a strong side but because, well, they're not exactly Inter Milan now, are
they?

After Amauri's departure to Juventus a year ago, Uruguayan international Edinson Cavani was looked
upon to team with Fabrizio Miccoli in the front of the Palermo attack. The 22-year-old had a solid
Serie A season with stats to follow -- 34 starts, 1 substitution, 14 goals, 4 assists, 103 shots,
and 39 shots on goal.

In the present state of modern football with the physical nature of the game becoming more
important than the technical nature, there seems to be less and less room for the
fantasista, a player that has always been the focal point in the Italian game. The
fantasista is the player with sublime technique, the player that you pay to watch, the one that can
change the game at any second.

Carlo Ancelotti has a plan for December. His plan is to catch up to Inter before the Christmas
break, so that his team can go on holiday with a good psychological advantage. After the events on
Sunday evening, it seems like Carlo should think of a "plan B". AC Milan got litterally
trampled on Sunday, [.

After tonight's display between Juventus and Palermo, the (Bianconero) cynic in me has this to say:
at least we didn't tie. Indeed, after three consecutive draws against Catania, Sampdoria, and Bate
Borisov, Claudio Ranieri can finally get rid of the "Mr. X" tag that was bestowed upon
him this past week.

This week's winner was scored by Fabrizio Miccoli. Miccoli bagged two goals on Sunday
against Roma but it was the first one which was particularly nice and helped set tempo for the
rest of the match. Sadly Miccoli left the match after experiencing a musclar injury in
the second half and Palermo are currently awaiting results on the extent of hero's
problem.

Who knows? Maybe Maurizio Zamparini's never-ending "I love you... no I hate you, you're
fired" attitude might be working to some degree. The Palermo president probably surely holds
he record for most manager terminations in the entire Serie A, and this season's debut was no
exception to that reputation (Stefano Colantuono's head was the first [.
