Everton 2-0 Chelsea Premier League 11th February 2012
That much-publicised midweek training ground visit from Roman Abramovich would have done
little for Andre Villas-Boas' confidence ahead of Saturday's game against Everton.
Can't tell you proud I am of Everton today. A supposed top 4 side and we took them to the cleaners.
Denis, who we all know is a limited footballer, caused MAYHEM against their weird, lopsided 3-5-2
formation with Cole as a left winger and Luis as a left half.
Everton by comparison knew what they were about from the off, set the tempo and got in amongst them
at every turn.

Thierry Henry came off the bench in his last Premier League appearance for Arsenal this year and
capped the occasion off in perfect style with a late stoppage time goal that wrapped up all three
points for the Gunners.
In a toughly contested match at the Stadium of Light, James McLean opened the scoring for
Sunderland 25 minutes into the second half, when he capitalized on Per Mertesacker's slip to guide
the ball past Wojciech Szczesny from an acute angle.

Goodison Park, Liverpool- Saturday- 15.
Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas admitted that as his side prepares to kick-off at Goodison Park
this afternoon, damage control is the only ambition for the Blues in a Premier League campaign
where they have not been 'very honorable'.
With Tottenham seven points ahead in third and Newcastle, Arsenal, and Liverpool all within
striking distance of Chelsea's current fourth position in the table, Villas-Boas acknowledges that
it has been a shaky ride for a side that was assembled to chase glory.
Nicks' note: This is a guest post. Like Ramires powering through the
middle, straight-talking Sahil Dumir holds no prisoners and says it like it
is. Small bio? He's a smug-smiling, hard-working, all-round good egg. He's also a Chelsea fan,
which offsets all of the above.

Israeli midfielder Ashraf Soliman was involved in arguably the most exciting game of his life when
Maccabi Umm al-Fahm took on Hapoel Afula in a cup tie. With his team 2-1 up and injury-time

goal ever as he [.
Right then, after a week which has been dominated by two craggy faced managers (so much so that
Fabio Capello was in my post-apocalyptic dream last night wearing a gigantic gold hooped earring),
it's time to turn our attention to the stuff that really matters.
Arsenal play Sunderland tomorrow and under Martin O'Neill they've been about 61 times better
than they were under Mrs Doubtfire.
Saturday is going to be a hard game, it always is at Goodison. Everton boosted by the signings of
Donovan, Gibson and possibly Jelavic making his debut will be up for this one after we beat them
earlier in the season at Stamford Bridge.
The big questions will be over AVB's team selection.
The cat who invaded the pitch during Liverpool and Tottenham's 0-0 draw has become an overnight
internet sensation apparently Its name is Tabby, seemingly homeless, loves football, does not
suffer from stage fright and could do with a warm, hot dinner as well as a place to stay on
Merseyside. So what exactly was the [.
After winning MLS Cup, earning a place in the Champions League and become the MLS equivalent of a
SuperClub, the LA Galaxy had questions to answer at the end of 2011.
The possible departures of David Beckham, Juninho and the confirmed loss of Donovan Ricketts raised
questions. Add to that the threat of extend loans from Landon Donovan and Robbie Keane, the Galaxy
had quiet cause for concern.

Blackpool beat Sheffield Wednesday 3-0 at Hillsborough in their FA Cup fourth replay round last

It was a tough day for Yanks in England as Tim Howard, Landon Donovan, and Everton were held to a
draw against Wigan, while Clint Dempsey and Fulham lost to Manchester City.
All had been quiet on the Luka Modric front until the end of last week when Spurs midfielder and
Everton loanee Steven Pienaar made comments to the press suggesting that Tottenham would have
difficulty in holding on to their Croatian genius once the season comes to an end.
It's worth looking at the South African's quotes in full,
"Luka is a top player for Spurs and if he leaves it is hard to say what will happen there,"
Pienaar told the Sunday Mirror.
Hopefully you're still feeling a warm glow from Saturday's impressive win over Blackburn
Rovers.
It has certainly calmed some of the pitchfork-and-torch brigade who were on the march after the
0-0 at Bolton.
They may not have had the imagination or panache to use pitchforks and torches, but they had
their bin bags and were still determined to march on Castle Emirates and demand the head of Baron
von Wengerstein.

Wigan Athletic 1-1 Everton Premier League 4th February 2012
A late Victor Anichebe goal was enough to rob perpetual strugglers Wigan of a vital and rare
victory. The defeat leaves the Latics bottom of the table and looking like dead certs for the
drop.
A lot less thrilling than it sounded. A scoreless first half, an own goal by Phil Neville then a
late last gasp goal by Anichebe preserves a tie, and both teams walk away with 1pt.Video: Fox

Manchester City moved three points clear at the top of the Premier League thanks to a convincing
3-0 win at home over Fulham.
Heading into the Fulham match a lot of questions were being asked about a City side that had
lost four of their eight matches in 2012, exiting the FA and League Cups and seeing Manchester
United draw level with them on points at the top of the Premier League.

Manchester City put the disappointment of that midweek defeat against Everton behind them at a
snowy Etiahd Stadium on Saturday, coasting to victory against a Fulham side who rarely threatened
Jose Hart's goal.

Saturday EPL on ESPN2: Arsenal - Blackburn at 8am. Wigan - Everton 9:30am - Fox Soccer Everton goes
on the road after picking up three points at the expense of Premier League leaders Manchester City.
A win against Wigan could push Everton up the table from 10th. This is a different Everton, with
the club active in the transfer window adding Nikica Jelavic and Steven Pienaar.
After I wrote a while ago that Manchester City were the clear favourites for the Premier League
title this year, my opinion seems to have changed over the past few weeks. Their recent form has
seen them playing decent enough but Manchester United have gone that extra mile. Manchester City
has lost on far too many occasions this season.
Their Words "This is a big thing for me. It is a new step in my career, a step forward and I can
promise the fans and the people at the Club that I will give my very best and score as many goals
as possible." Everton striker Nikica Jelavic. Other Sources Nowak explains why Union let go of Le

Gibson. Ad approfittarne è lo United di Sir Alex Ferguson.
Everton boss David Moyes was a busy man in January, signing the likes of Darron Gibson and
Nikica Jelavic, loaning former Toffees Steven Pienaar and Landon Donovan, and offloading Louis Saha
to Tottenham.
All that activity is seemingly about to payoff, with the traditionally slow-starting
Merseysiders back in the top half of the table following last night's famous 1-0 win over league
leaders Manchester City at Goodison Park.
Deserved congratulations to Everton manager David Moyes on his 150th league victory Wednesday,
earned in emphatic fashion as brilliantly summarized here at EPLTalk. Moyes, 48, is the
third-longest tenured head honcho in the prem, behind only Arsene...

As hinted at in last night's post it felt like a good night to be a blue from the word go.
City always seem to fall foul of Everton's superior workrate and commitment. Players like Aguero,
Villa and Nasri have added real class to go along with the brawn but where is the steel that side
will need to win a title?

Dear Sir,
We don't blame you for handcuffing yourself to a goalpost during the first half of Everton's 1-0
victory over Manchester City in the EPL last night. Many have mocked you, but we often find it
hard to resist the magnetic power of Joe Hart as well.
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was delighted as his side's 2-0 win at home to Stoke
was complimented by former United midfielder Darren Gibson's maiden goal in Everton's 1-0 win over
league leaders Manchester City.
The result brings United level on top with the Citizens, leaving Fergie with no option but to
praise the resolve of his injury-plagued side while also joking that the sequence of events
surrounding Gibson's recent transfer to Goodison Park was planned out by him.
Manchester City lost their 3 point advantage at the top of the Premier League after a 1-0 defeat at
Everton with In The Stands' Rolly Pelovangu arguing that boss Roberto Mancini should bring back
Carlos Tevez asap It is a well known fact that most people have very short memories not least where

Whereas I'm pretty sure it would have still gone in on the other side of Joe Hart's goal, Darron
Gibson's heavily deflected winner against Man City last night saw his old club Manchester United go
level on points with their rivals at the summit of the Premier League pretty much making his goal
last night the best thing he ever did for United, indeed they were chanting his name 30 miles away
at Old Trafford when the news broke.

You may have noticed that Everton's win over Man City at Goodison had to be halted last night
for five or so minutes when a fan made his way onto the pitch and handcuffed himself to the frame
of Joe Hart's goal, before having the cuffs taken off with boltcutters, being forcibly removed by
the police and ejected from the ground entirely.
A bizarre fan handcuffed himself to the goal post during Everton's 1-0 win over Manchester City on
Tuesday night thus stopping play for several minutes. Related posts:Video: Maynor Figueroa Handball
