Wayne Rooney was a notable absence from Man United's shock 3-2 loss with Blackburn Rovers on
Saturday and despite Ferguson stating that he was struggling with an injury, rumours have been
circulated that the player was axed following allegations that he, Johnny Evans and Darron Gibson
went out following the 5-0 win against Wigan on boxing day.
A few weeks ago, Graeme Souness labelled Carlos Tevez a 'bad apple' and a 'disgrace to football',
and was promptly met with a legal threat from Tevez's lawyers. Well, the threat doesn't seem to
have made any difference because another former Liverpool manager has very publicly attacked the
Argentinean striker.
During his time as Liverpool manager, Roy Evans's team had a creditable record against Chelsea,
losing only 3 out of 10 games over a four year period. Evans was clearly delighted by his old
club's recent victory over Chelsea, but a niggling issue that has affected Liverpool all season was
there again in the Chelsea game, and Evans feels that Kenny Dalglish needs to address it as soon as
possible.
Former Liverpool manager Roy Evans has again berated Fabio Capello for his comments earlier in the
season about Andy Carroll, arguing that the unwarranted criticism has contributed to the striker's
mixed form over the last couple of months.
Speaking to LFC TV on Wednesday, Evans was clearly angry with the England Manager for what he sees

if he's going to be a success at Anfield.Evans, who also believes that Liverpool are in with a

counting down the minutes until kick-off. That includes former Liverpool manager Roy Evans, who
outlined his thoughts on the game yesterday.Evans, whose Liverpool team achieved a couple of
memorable Anfield victories against United in 1995, warned against being too expansive, and

Former Liverpool manager Roy Evans was disappointed by Jack Rodwell's sending off during the club's
2-0 win at Goodison, and believes referee Martin Atkinson made a 'poor decision' underpinned by a
lack of common sense. It's refreshing to hear Evans be so forthright and honest about the
issue:"Happy with the three points, but I didn't think it was a great game; the referee probably
spoiled it in
At a recent event to celebrate the launch of a new book about treble-winning Liverpool manager Joe
Fagan, Roy Evans - who wrote the foreword to the book - paid tribute to the man he saw as his
'mentor' and 'father figure' in football.Former Liverpool manager Evans enthused:"He was a great

Before I get berated for an upcoming post about our defense and how it could be perceived as
Jonny Evans bashing, let me just say that I've still got that tiny ounce of belief that he will
eventually come good. Whether it's this season or the next, it'll happen.
As a reminder, Jonny Evans was a part of our rearguard that made history in the 2008/2009 season
going over a thousand minutes without conceding a league goal.
