Champions League/EPL is soooo boring.

Football in the Capital 19 August @ 05:29 AM EST
Scott McDonald clearly plays for a better team than Tim Cahill.
Although Celtic lost to Arsenal 2-0 last night, Cahill's mob got hammered 6-1 on Saturday. With the Celtic budget around a couple of Everton players, the cheaper ones, we probably did pretty well.
For me, I didn't watch the game. Click to continue reading...

European Champions League Final

KICK THE BALLS 28 May @ 04:55 PM EST

The Final was better than a classic. It was a lesson. At the center of it was the midfield. Barca won the game there, as football matches often are. Darren Fletcher, Manchester United's central component was missing.

Two years ago, Darren Fletcher played in the red, to high interest rates of abuse from Man U fans.

Champions League farce continues

Football in the Capital 03 September @ 09:14 PM EST
There was a time when Celtic played Real Madrid, Juventus or even Notts Forest back in the old European Cup. I know I was at all the home games. Two games home and away and winners go through. Tense, exciting stuff.
Now like others we play Manchester United, Barcelona and co every year, in a Group stage, devised so the top teams can get through every year and get more money to buy more players to do it all again the next year. Click to continue reading...

Kenny Cooper - Don't go to Rosenborg!

Pro Soccer Weekly 25 July @ 11:36 PM EST
The New York Times has an article about Kenny Cooper and Juan Toja leaving F.C. Dallas for Rosenborg and Steaua Bucharest respectively. Paris St. Germain sign Makelele and Giuly

Pro Soccer Weekly 22 July @ 11:03 PM EST
Some interesting news from the French Football League as Paris St. Germain have signed both Claude Makelele and Ludovic Giuly for next season. On the surface these seem like good signings, but I think it might be about time that Paris St. Germain start to develop a more long term plan for success. They have the potential to be one of the biggest clubs in Europe by playing in Paris with virtually no competition in terms of other big clubs to draw fans away from them (unlike London or Moscow for example). Freddy Adu loaned to Monaco

Pro Soccer Weekly 21 July @ 10:11 PM EST
A great move for Freddy Adu as he is loaned to Monaco from Benfica for a season. I'm sure if things work out its quite possible that Freddy's loan could be made into a permanent move or could lead to another club purchasing him. It just didn't seem like Freddy was truly wanted by the Benfica coach Quique Flores' and he's much better off playing for Monaco in the French league hopefully as a starter then sitting on the bench for the season at Benfica. Superliga should be Champions Liga

Pro Soccer Weekly 20 July @ 10:47 AM EST
I've been reading about the different results from the Superliga, the tournament between top clubs from MLS and the Mexican Primera División and I can think about our - where are the rest of the CONCACAF clubs? The entire region is missing the point, there are other countries that have their own leagues and clubs with their own traditions. Click to continue reading...
