Inspired by Amir Sayoud's truly piss-poor effort that we had this misfortune of witnessing
yesterday (which, by rights, should be at the top of this list), here's our ten-strong run down of
the worst penalties of the modern era...
Eugene Dadi's return to Perth Glory as a Wellington Phoenix player did not go according to plan
as his badly executed spot kick failed to trouble the home keeper and Perth Glory went on to win
comfortably.

PERTH Glory goalkeeper Tando Velaphi put in a man-of-the-match performance to help the home side
defeat Adelaide United 1-0 at ME Bank Stadium on Friday Night.
Velaphi, who was heavily criticised for an error which cost his side a win last week, pulled off a
number of impressive saves to deny United in front of nearly 9,500 fans.
PERTH Glory take on Adelaide United at around 7pm tonight and it's a pretty important game for the
home side.
More so because Perth have a pretty tough month ahead with Gold Coast (away), North Queensland
(away), Melboure (home) and Wellington (away) - so not getting a win here could be a disaster.
BEFORE we get into today's juicy blog, should give a mention to the guys at Glory Football Tees and
the new shirt available from their site (left).
The joke obviously refers to the antics of Chris Coyne against Brisbane a couple of weeks ago.
These guys aren't guys who live in China, these are Perth Glory fans (the type of guys who don't
know what a bandwagon looks like) who use the profits for the creation of Glory banners and the
Perth Glory fanzine - which always gives FP a bit of a laugh.
Righto, so today is gameday. At around 3:30pm (WST) Perth Glory take on North Queensland Fury at ME
Bank.
And there are signs a pretty decent crowd could turn up for this one.
According to Paul Skuse from the Perth Glory Supporters Association, the Glory has had the biggest
ticket pre-sale for a home game since the begining of the A-League.
SO here we are – one day before the big game (aren't they all big?) against North Queensland
Fury.
Quite a bit to get through today, so without further ado...
Firstly, straight to Glory coach Dave Mitchell's presser yesterday.
Quite a bit was happening, firstly the news that Perth Glory's Socceroo trio were not included in
the national team for the upcoming games filtered to the Perth jounros.
SO before FP gets into Perth Glory news for today, just a quick word on Eugene Dadi.
Remember him, that tall dark-skinned fellow who formed a pretty decent partnership with Nikita, and
scored 10 goals last season (even though some were from penalties).
He's put in one 60-minute performance in Adelaide this season, but hasn't been heard from since.
WELL, all in all, it was mixed weekend for FP. Arsenal self-destructed against Man United, but
Miron's mob Gold Coast United were finally brought back to earth with a 1-0 defeat to
Newcastle.
And due to a couple more results in the A-League, the Glory climb to fourth position on the ladder
after their win over Melbourne - though Perth fans shouldn't be breaking out the bubbly just yet -
there's still 23 rounds to go, plenty of time before the ladder really matter.
IS it just me or does everything look better after a Perth Glory win. The birds are singing, the
fans are singing, the um... clouds are singing - ah scrub the last one.
Anyway, yesterday Perth defeated Newcastle 2-0 in a game which, surely most people would agree, the
Glory controlled from start to finish.
RIGHTO, it's the day before the next Perth Glory game - which can only mean - preview time. So what
can we expect from the Glory this week? Some of the tripe they served up against Adelaide or
something different?

ADELAIDE United captain Travis Dodd continued his scoring success against Perth Glory, with a
well-taken penalty which sealed a deserved 1-0 victory at Hindmarsh Stadium tonight.
GOLD Coast United manager Miron Bleiberg has cast doubt upon Perth Glory's chances in the A-League
claiming the club lacks depth, The West Australian has reported.
Speaking after his side's 1-0 victory over the Glory in Bunbury, Bleiberg felt the Glory's lack of
dept could cost them this season.
This article has also been published on the sports-opinion website The Roar.
WHEN Perth Glory face-off against Adelaide United in a little over two weeks time, should Eugene
Dadi be handed a starting spot or should he be riding the pine pony?

The Indonesian FA are hoping to have 22 foreign players deported from the country. In what would be
a spectacular PR blunder, admittedly not the first, they have sent the relevant ministry a list of
players they say are playing illegally in the country.
Despite having relevant paperwork the PSSI claim that as they are the only authority empowered to
organise competitive football in Indonesia then players registered with the rebel Liga Primer
Indonesia are here under false pretenses and shouldn't be here.
Welcome to a much delayed blog. Hopefully your Friday night was a cracker and you're ready for a
big weekend.
Just a couple of housekeeping points to go through before we talk Glory. First and most
importantly, thank you for your continued support while FP has been gallivanting around the place.
FP can't really concentrate when his brethren are in Sydney trying very hard to lose a game of
cricket. It's enough to send a person to the place with the padded walls and nifty white
jackets.
Meanwhile, there isn't much going on in the land of the purple, with the Socceroos match against
Kuwait tonight.
