(CONMEBOL) takes on FC Barcelona (UEFA) in the championship match. Both clubs were the favorites to
reach the finals of the tournament as they had byes to the semifinal round. Estudiantes reached the
final after defeating Pohang Steelers while FC Barcelona beat Atlante.
The FIFA 2009 Club World Cup begins the semifinals with Pohang Steelers v Estudiantes La Plata
on Tuesday, December 15, 2009. Estudiantes are the CONMEBOL team who won the Copa Libertadores
