Saturday EPL on ESPN2: Arsenal - Blackburn at 8am. Wigan - Everton 9:30am - Fox Soccer Everton goes
on the road after picking up three points at the expense of Premier League leaders Manchester City.
A win against Wigan could push Everton up the table from 10th. This is a different Everton, with
the club active in the transfer window adding Nikica Jelavic and Steven Pienaar.
Transfer madness takes a back seat to mid-week matches, as a number of top teams in Europe take
to the field on Tuesday.
The top four teams in England are all in action, with Landon Donovan, Tim Howard and Everton
facing league-leading Manchester City. Manchester United, Tottenham and Chelsea will all be looking
to secure their own results while hoping the American pair can conjure an upset to shorten the gap
at the top of the table.
Everton - Manchester City 3pm - Fox Soccer Another opportunity to see the Americans at Everton
against a top-tier opponent, in this case Premier League leaders Manchester City. Everton's
14th-place record has them winning four games away to three at home, making it tough to stress the
Goodison Park advantage.
No major news out today, but here are some quick hits news wise for you on your Friday.

We're off to Carrow Road tomorrow. My suggestion? Take the morning train.
It's a fixture that promises to be kind of fascinating. For one, it wasn't easy at Stamford
bridge at the end of August; it sure won't be easy in Norfolk, either, with Norwich undefeated in
four and currently in ninth.
Portland's pre-season foes were added too. The Timbers will play Montreal, Houston, LA and
Chicago during there 12 day stay in LA.
Here is information from the Portland Timbers:
The Portland Timbers today announced match details for the club's preseason camp in Carson,

Corner is a new feature each Monday on US Soccer Players that attempts to breakdown an issue
trending in the world of soccer in under 400 words. Yes, this explanation counts. How many viewers
began to wonder if there's such a thing as a bad draft pick after watching ESPN2's coverage of the
first round of the 2012 Major League Soccer SuperDraft?
The MLS SuperDraft was held on Thursday and broadcast live on ESPN2. After two hours of
televised coverage, the feed switched to ESPN3.com. Adrian Healey manned the desk while Alexi Lalas
and Taylor Twellman handled much of the commentary heavy lifting and despite some hiccups, the
broadcast was generally well done.
The MLS SuperDraft is happening live on ESPN2 right now. I went home to get some food and
watched a little bit. The Sporting KC fans are rocking it! They are louder than most basketball
crowds ever get!

The 2012 MLS Superdraft will start at 9:00 am on ESPN2/ESPN3 and we will be live blogging the
whole thing. Feel free to join in and add your thoughts as we test out the Cover It Live live
blogging software.
The Timbers have the 8th and 27th picks in the draft. The full draft order can be found
here.
The 2012 MLS SuperDraft starts at 12 pm EST today, with television coverage starting at that
time on ESPN2 (also available through ESPN's web service ESPN3). The Philadelphia Union have two
natural SuperDraft selections, the 13th overall pick (13th in the first round) and the 32nd overall
pick (13th in the second round), plus the 35th overall pick (16th in the second round) from
Sporting Kansas City, received as part of the Shavar Thomas trade in 2010.
MLS teams gather in Kansas City to draft from their selection of college seniors, Generation
Adidas players and a few pre-signed internationals. You can watch live on ESPN2/3 or
MLSSoccer.com at 9 AM or just follow along here. MLSSoccer.com's final mock draft (their
third) has Puget Sound native Kelyn Rowe going as high as third or as low as
14th.
Somehow, it works out so I am off during the MLS SuperDraft 2012, and thus I've taken on the
responsibility of live-blogging the first (and maybe) second round. It's being aired on ESPN2, TSN2
and RDS2 at 11AM CST. That means there are about 3 hours remaining until the Montreal L'Impact --
barring any trades or moves, are on the clock for the 1st overall selection in the 2012 MLS
SuperDraft.
The big day is here for three Wisconsin players, who hope to hear their names called during the
Major League Soccer SuperDraft.
The consensus among national writers who cover the league is that midfielder Calum
Mallace (Marquette) and forward-midfielder Ethan Finlay (Marshfield) will indeed be
selected in the two-round draft, and midfielder Tony Walls (Wauwatosa East/UW-Green Bay)
also could be among the 38 selections.
Great production value. Strong story line. If this doesn't get you pumped about an event you
normally might not get pumped about then check your pulse.
But seriously, the SuperDraft, silly name and all, is where dreams start for a lot of players in
our domestic league. Each one has the chance to make American soccer even greater.
The MLS SuperDraft is Thursday, Jan. 12 and for a few players in camp, it's the day they could
finally realize a childhood dream of turning professional. Two players in camp have had their name
tossed around in the various mock drafts building up to tomorrow's big event in Kansas City.
Defender Andrew Wenger out of Duke traveled to the Midwest to be a part of the proceedings and
forward Kelyn Rowe out of UCLA will be watching events unfold from his hotel room here in Southern
California.
ESPN2 has the first round of the 2012 MLS SuperDraft at noon. Napoli - Cesena 3pm - GolTV The Coppa

NSCAA Convention in Kansas City, Missouri. Here's what you need to know in advance of the Draft.
Will it be televised? Yes, the opening round of the SuperDraft will be shown live on ESPN2 starting
at noon ET.
ALSO FILE UNDER: This thing might just go away in 5 or 6 years
As player acquisition tools evolve in Major League Soccer, January's annual SuperDraft seems
destined to shrink in relevance. Even this year the process already is shrinking, literally,
reduced to just two rounds. That's down from four rounds just two years ago.
The MLS SuperDraft is Thursday, January 12 at 12pm ET (ESPN2, ESPN3). The Philadelphia Union
have the 13th, 32nd and 35th picks this year, and nobody knows
what the team will do. PSP runs down some of the options.
Tony Cascio
What: Winger
Why: Some experts believe the Union will look to solidify their wing play by
adding a player like UConn's Tony Cascio.
Fire fans have certainly had an exciting week already. From the rumored signing of Rafael Robayo
becoming a concrete reality, to the report of Pavel Pardo re-signing with the Fire, there has been
a lot of news, and it's only Wednesday. Well, the news will keep on coming Fire fans, as business
is about to pick up even more with the MLS draft on Thursday.
As we do every so often, we thought we would take a look around the web to see how mainstream
websites and publications are covering the annual SuperDraft. We'll start across in the pond in
England, where the Guardian continues its regular (and impressive) MLS coverage with a
team-by-team look at the upcoming draft through the eyes of various team supporters.
Galaxy GM and Coach Bruce Arena gave a handful of reporters an update this afternoon ahead of
Thursday's MLS draft (9 a.m. live on ESPN2). First, let's talk roster since that's likely to have
more of a bearing on the coming season: *Robbie Keane's pending loan to Aston Villa is
By J Hutcherson - WASHINGTON, DC (Jan 10, 2012) US Soccer Players -- Whatever happens on Thursday
at Major League Soccer's SuperDraft (12pm ET - ESPN2), Montreal has already made the biggest player
move. That happened in the expansion draft, when they opted against taking a player's wishes into
account and used a pick on then-Houston forward Brian Ching.
