What a return it has been for Kenny Dalglish. Only Cardiff City now stand in the way of
Liverpool lifting the Carling Cup at Wembley later this month and thus securing the club's first
trophy in six years. King Kenny has brought the buzz back to the city. And thankfully, whatever the
dramas off the field, everyone at Anfield appears to be pulling in the same direction once
again.
Luis Suarez is back for Liverpool, and most fans will be hoping that he goes straight back into the
starting line-up to face Spurs tonight. Is that going to happen though? Liverpool are in a great
run of form, and is breaking up a winning team the best thing to do at this stage? For Liverpool
legend Steve Nicol, it's not even up for debate: Suarez must start.
A big snowstorm hit England on Saturday, threatening to jeopardize the slate of matches set for
today, but the big headliner between Chelsea and Manchester United will go on as planned, and it
will serve as the marquee match of a busy day in the soccer world.
While the Super Bowl dominates the American sports landscape today, soccer fans here will have
plenty to choose from for their viewing pleasures, topped off with the big Chelsea-United
clash.
Liverpool legend Steve Nicol has slammed the FA's decision to strip Chelsea's John Terry of the
England captaincy. Terry is currently awaiting trial for the alleged racial abuse of QPR's Anton
Ferdinand, and although he is innocent until proven guilty, the FA has take action that could be
construed as a punishment.
Clint Dempsey will try to keep his torrid hot streak in the English Premier League going against
a Manchester City side looking to hold on to first place in one of today's best matches.
The Cottagers are in need of points to move further away from the relegation zone, but earning
any in Manchester against a City side coming off a loss to Everton won't be easy.
