We first encountered this sad saga a year and a half ago when veteran BigSoccer maven
Matrim55 POSTED THIS PIECE about the rape prosecution of former UCSB midfielder and 2007 Kansas
City draftee Eric Frimpong, a native of Ghana.
The alledged victim, known only as Jane Doe, was a freshman at UC Santa Barbara in 2006 when the
Gauchos won the NCAA Championship due in large part to Frimpong's contributions.
ESPN.com has a well researched and written article about Eric Avila's former UCSB teammate Eric
Frimpong.
At the behest of some friends who found this story first, we're passing along this story of what
looks like a miscarriage of justice against UC-Santa Barbara ace Eric Frimpong.
Its shameful that in 2009 on America's birthday, such things are still happening in this
country.
