On the recommendation of Stephen Coutts, lead writer for Man On Platform 13, I took a look at the
Inter Milan's 20-year Austrian, Marko Arnautovic. This was after Arnautovic finally scored for
Inter against Vaduz in a friendly match recently.
Thus far, Marko Arnautovic has been warming the bench at the Nerazurri, trying hard to convince
Jose Mourinho that his talent is worthy of the Serie A stage.

I read the Sun's article on Huntelaar rejecting a move to Spurs and thought; 'hold on a second, who
said we wanted you?'
Fair enough, Harry was interested in the summer, but that all changed when Crouch was signed. Milan
took the punt on him, spending €15 million (£13 million or so). Oh how they wish they hadn't.

Here we find ourselves slap bang in the middle of another damn international break, only this
one is even more torrid than others as there are barely any meaningful internationals to hold our
attention.

I've been sitting on this story for a few days looking for confirmed news of it, but it appears
that Wizards forward, Kei Kamara has been called up by the Sierra Leone national team for their
upcoming friendly in Holland against Willem II of the Eredivisie. Kamara's Facebook status talks
about going to the game in Holland.

This week's episode focuses on the title races across Europe, with the first stop being the
Premier League title race and the United v Chelsea game. Manchester United gave a strong showing at
Stamford Bridge on Sunday, possibly one of their best performances at the Bridge post-Ranieri and
despite the defeat all signs point to an open, three-way title race.

The Ligue 1 in France showcased one of the most important clashes of the season, as Olympique
Lyonnais and Olympique de Marseille clashed to produce a game that will be remembered for many
years to come. There were five goals scored in the final 15 minutes of the game, and Jeremy
Toulalan scored an own [.

The timing could never had been better. Precisely ten years after the fall of the Berlin Wall,
another barrier in Europe is being taken down: the wall between the strong and the weak of European
football; between the Champions League and the Europa League; between the Big Four and the Little
16.

Let's start this off by congratulating our two new continental champions. South Korea's Ponang
Seelers took the AFC Champions League title this weekend with a 2-1 defeat of Saudi club
Al-Ittihad. In Africa, the CAF Champions League title was won by Congo Democratic Republic's TP
Mazembi who defeated Nigeria's Heartland FC.

Eduardo's back heel onto Arshavin, who runs and takes the ball and finds the pass to Diaby, who
sets himself up and scores.
That my friends was the goal of the night and the fourth for Arsenal against AZ Alkmaar. The
football recently played by Arsenal is nothing short of phenomenal, offensively of course.

I completely missed every single game of football across the British Isles at the weekend. I was
too busy to turn on the radio for the Scottish games, and I fell asleep somewhere during the
Arsenal-Spurs highlights on the Saturday evening. I was awake long enough to see van Persie
scoring, but the next thing I [.

This week included two gigantic matches in world football, the North London Derby, Arsenal against
Tottenham, and Ajax against Feyenoord. Pellegrini is a bit safer at Madrid, and Benitez is moving
up the spots in the sack race. While Inter escape to the top of Serie A, seven points above second
place Juventus, Portsmouth start getting the three points needed to start moving up the Premiership
table.

Two years ago, in November 2007, this website began. I scoured the continent for young talent and
listed eight players who I expected to make huge names for themselves in the football world. I did
not list English based players (Walcott, Denilson, etc) who I had my eye on, but only players in
the continent.

101 Great Goals #34 - John Goossens
It's not very often that my adopted Dutch club, NEC Nijmegen, appear above the radar. They are the
very definition of 'mid table mediocrity' - sitting in the middle of the Eredivisie every single
year, doing absolutely nothing whatsoever.
To include a goal that earned them a 1-1 home draw against ADO Den Haag also sounds like the
dullest thing in the world, but this particular piece of brilliance from ex-Ajax kid John Goossens
deserves to shine a light on the club.

AZ v Arsenalby acidsaid10
Well, as Peevish said in the comments, that wasn't much fun.
To start with, though, let me just say that this is not a bad result for Arsenal. Yes,
we're a much better club, but AZ are the defending Eredivisie champions, and has now played 35 home
matches in European competition, and has lost just once.

Champions League matchup tomorrow against AZ Alkmaar, and for some reason I can't look at that
name without thinking of Azkaban prison from Harry Potter. When I imagine what their home pitch is
like, I picture it being a desolate little island in the middle of the cold sea. When you finally
get there, with your ticket, you're led to your horrible, cramped little bleacher seat (amongst
their fans, who I imagine are probably all Death Eaters) by a Dementor usher, and if you sit in the
wrong seat or yell too loudly, the Dementor usher quickly comes to your seat and does that
face-sucking thing, and leaves you a drooling vegetable with no soul.

There was a time (last summer) when I would have welcomed Klaas-Jan Huntelaar to The Lane.
Thankfully, those days are long now gone. It was only a few months ago when we were all talking up
the lad and saying how good of a signing he would be for us. A.C. Milan fans were doing the same
thing. You should hear them now.

In Wednesday's Eredivisie match between NEC and Utrecht, NEC's Moestafa El Kabir decided to try
and save a ball that was already out of bounds and ended up plowing into the pitchside TV
camera.
This is generally a bad idea. While TV cameras do have weak legs and rarely defend themselves
from an oncoming attack, they are still made of heavy things like metal and.

We're not there yet, but we are getting closer. The Bundesliga, Eredivisie and Ligue Un all
reached the point in the season where last season's results have dropped out of the calculations
for the WCR Top 25. For clubs from England, Spain, Italy and Portugal, results for last season
still count because all clubs in each of those domestic leagues have yet to play five matches, but
we are getting close.

9. Schteeeeeeve McLaren talks jibberish
No-one really blamed Steve McLaren for moving abroad after the wally-brolly failure of England to
qualify for Euro 2008. In a path trodden by his one of his predecessors, Bobby Robson, the
ex-England boss ran to the relative safety of the Eredivisie after his international experiences to
take charge of little known FC Twente.
