Anfield Rd: Kick It Out: Allegations should be proven "beyond reasonable
doubt"
When Liverpool announced they were not going to appeal the Luis Suárez verdict they did so
after coming under a huge weight of pressure from various individuals and organisations. One of
Liverpool's main objections to the decision was the way it was reached and in particular the burden
of proof considered adequate.
We wanted to talk about stuff that isn't Luis Suarez. We really, really did. But that didn't
take into account one inescapable fact: Pretty much nobody is talking about Liverpool without also
talking about Luis Suarez. So while the FA Cup draw against Oldham Athletic holds the potential for
distraction on Friday, for now at least there's little to do but tie up a few more of the
Suarez-related loose ends.
Liverpool's hypocrisy undermines anti-racism and our young people
The future of football needs strong and decisive leadership especially for the next generation
of young people Liverpool FC need to take a hard look at themselves and how they have responded to
the complaint and the investigations into the allegations of abuse in the Patrice Evra/Luis Suárez
case.

course of action we feel appropriate with regards to this situation.

Professional Footballers' Association chief executive Gordon Taylor has offered to act as a
mediator in the Luis Suarez-Patrice Evra race row.
Manchester United full-back Evra has accused Liverpool striker Suarez of racially abusing him
during a 1-1 draw between the Premier League giants at Anfield on Saturday.
There are many ironies surrounding the comments of the Liverpool Managing Director, Ian Ayre,
concerning the future of overseas television rights and how they should be distributed amongst the
clubs. Those of an ideological indisposition to Liverpool and preferences amongst football clubs
have, in recent years, come to take on the appearance of being somewhere between the followers of a
cult and a lifestyle choice may have taken some degree of amusement from a club which couldn't even
qualify for European football last season make such exapnsive claims regarding its grandeur.

Ooh la la.
Like most non-league football clubs, Bath City of the Blue Square Premier live a hand to mouth
existence. Indeed, Bath are in what could easily be described as a uniquely devilish position. Not
only are they a semi-professional club playing in a league in which the majority of clubs are now
full-time, but the city of Bath itself may also be considered something of a rugby stronghold.
When a transfer window closes, a door opens; Andy Carroll's landmark £35m move from Newcastle
to Liverpool, broke not only the transfer record for a British player, but also racial boundaries.
The date of Wednesday 2 February shall ring through the ages, as this was the day when James
Lawton of the Independent chose to describe the striker as "raw", a new era of equality and
understanding between races dawned, as the young Carroll became the first white player to be
described in these vaunted terms.
Football needs to be careful. We all love the drama of a good transfer deadline day and that
feeling when your club lands a great player is brilliant but the whole situation is becoming
scary.
As I sit and write this, Fernando Torres is moving for nearly £50 million and Andy Carroll is
the subject of a bid of nearly £40million.
