Editor's note: For your offseason pleasure, PSP is happy to present an multi-part fiction
series entitled The Pine Barrens League. In the conclusion of the story, it is the second
half of the final. Schnauzer and company have 45 minutes to score a goal to win the
money.
We were exhausted when we got off the field at half time.
NTR: The mess in Harrison New Jersey
WOW! I read this article about the New York Redbulls and all I can say is I am thankful we have
the FO and coach we have. give it a read and be thankful our team is not like the Energy
Drinks.
Yes it was only QPR (nota bene, Chelski), and no one does not really like to brag –
but by golly our lot could not have played with more swagger if they had purred around in
Lamborghinis with Megan Fox in the passenger's seat and Snoop Dogg mixing cocktails in the back,
while the stereo blared out Test Match Special.

Union
In this week's power rankings roundup, the Union fall two spots to fifth at MLS Soccer.com. At
ESPN, they move up one spot to fifth. They drop one spot to fourth at the Seattle Times. At
Goal.com, the Union fall two spots to eighth.
Sheanon Williams, profiled on the Union website, was named to Goal.
Sweet win! Three points for the Union puts them in third place and within striking distance of
first if they knock off KC in a week. Check out the current playoff situe in the east.
PSP's Eli rolls out a match report from last night's win.
Rounding up the rest of the Eastern Conference playoff picture's Saturday performances, Columbus
lost (obvi), the Energy Drinks won, Houston came back late to nip the points, and KC went down to
RSL in a rough and tumble match.

With lone Union representative Faryd Mondragon on a MLS roster coached by and littered with
Energy Drinks and other all-too-easy ho-hum selections, not to mention that fact that the Dragon
isn't starting, does anyone around these parts really give a toss about the All-Star Game?
At first, the only kind of Philly related All-Star story Union fans seem to be able to expect is
a retread of the Beckham/Mondragon meeting at the 1998 World Cup kind of story MLSsoccer.
The fallout from the ongoing corruption scandal at FIFA continues with the interim CONCACAF
firing American whistle-blower Chuck Blazer only for the CONCACAF website to post an announcement
saying the firing contravenes confederation rules. Meanwhile, efforts to postpone the election for
the FIFA presidency are voted down with FIFA's senior vice-president calling England's FA
"pirates.
Energy drinks such as Red Bull are becoming increasingly popular among young athletes. Energy
drink companies now sponsor many athletes and sports teams including New York Red Bull of Major
League Soccer. Thus, it is not surprising that many high school age players regularly drink one or
two servings of an energy drink prior to competition.

From the Union website, this piece details Chris Agorsor's road to recovery from a devastating
injury. Agorsor grew up playing with Zach MacMath and has long known Sheanon Williams. Coming from
just outside of Baltimore, Agorsor says he never wanted to play for DC United. He says Baltimore
"is a lot more similar to Philly than to DC.

From a conference call with reporters on Wednesday:
- Noting that the roster compliance deadline is March 1, Peter Nowak said, "The roster is not in
place yet we still are working on some things that could improve our roster offensive and
defensively."
- Nowak said, "Having a forward or even grabbing another defender is still in the works.

Justin Mapp talks about how welcome he felt when he came to the Union, what he's doing in the
off season, and the team's focus on winning in 2011. "Our fans are the best in the league. They're
loud. They're supportive. They're passionate. When we start stringing wins together, these fans are
going to be the ones who deserve it.
