The Sky Sports News 'Babelcopter' takes to the skies once again!
What with it being Transfer Deadline Day and all, we diligent folks at Pies are going to
endeavour to keep you abreast of all the confirmed moves, rubber-stamped loans and the most goddamn
ludicrous rumours that crop up until the window shuts tonight or at least until we can't be arsed
any more.
Chesea used to make an easy dinner out of trips to places like Norwich. They would travel,
feast, fill themselves up and return to London with 3 points in the bag. What was once an easy task
has now become a stressful endeavour. Chelsea travel to grounds like Carrow Road hoping for 3
points rather than expecting them.
Highlights of the game. As usual, I shall endeavour to update these with longer / better ones when
they become available. Post match interviews The Silver Supremo muses on a very disappointing
evening for the Magpies. A tense game for Woy for by the sound of things, but he was well chuffed
when the third [.
· Have we ever had a less important match in our schedule? Friendlies aside,
this is one of the greatest non-events in our history. With Sunderland and Chelski coming up in the
League over the next week, and the cyanide-laced chalice of Europa qualification limited to
mathematics equations of the absurd, ‘Arry would be forgiven for just leaving Clive Allen and Tim
Sherwood to take care of the kids tonight, or maybe fielding Allen and Sherwood themselves.
Highlights of our disappointing 4-2 defeat at the hands of Delia Smith's Canaries at Carrow Road.
As usual, I will endeavour to update these when better, longer ones become available. Alan Pardew
went into this game matching his opponents with a two big lads upfront appraoch, forsaking Ben Arfa
for the silky skills of Shola [.
Winter is stupid. Why do we tolerate it? It's the John Terry of seasons. And I don't mean simply
because it tries to make everything white.
I had the alarm chill problem this morning. The alarm went off. I stuck my hand out for another
9 minutes of blissful snooze which made me feel the chill in the air which made me want to not get
up.
Highlights of the game. As always, I shall endeavour to update these with some better, longer ones
when thay become available, along with the usual post match interviews and a full match report of
that game.
Saturday's 0-0 draw with Swansea condemned Liverpool to their third successive home draw in the
Barclays Premier League, leaving Kenny Dalglish to call for improvements from his players.
Another frustrating afternoon at Anfield with the Reds again unable to break the deadlock, was
compounded when Andy Carroll missed a guilt-edged chance when he lashed against the crossbar - the
tenth time Liverpool have been denied by the woodwork in 2011-12.

With a return to 4-5-1 inevitable, the consensus among Wolves fans was that Nenad Milijas, with
impressive performances as a substitute against Swansea and midweek against Man City, had done
enough to earn his second start of the season at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday. Instead, Milijas
was dropped from the match day squad.
Manchester United faced their first real test on their road to recovery against
Everton today. And they came out all smiles as they grabbed 3 points for the first
time at Goodison Park since 2007. So here go the five of the few things we learnt from this victory
–
1.
Per the official:
What a strange man Mark Hughes is. Sacked by Manchester City, he was becoming a forgotten man
when I rescued him to become manager of Fulham Football Club.
Even when results were bad, I did not put pressure on him. I gave him every support financial,
moral and personal.
When you look at Newcastle United's great start to the Premier League campaign, it certainly isn't
due to some great tactical masterstroke. We have been playing the same old 4-4-2 with lots of
endeavour down the flanks and a pretty high pace, much like many other Premiership teams. However,
one of the things which has [.
Highlights of a game in which Newcastle dominated with almost 60% of the possession and manay more
shots on target than Blackburn Rovers. Features Demba Ba's hat-trick, and a consolation goal for
Rovers from Junior Hoilett. As usual, I shall endeavour to post longer / better highlights if /
when they become available, so watch [.
A few weeks ago, the Manchester United FB Page asked the question 'Still thinking about the
8-2?'. I said hell yeah. What else was there to think about? The international break had most
inconveniently followed, and I've never translated my United fandom to following England (for Roon
one could argue, but now practically the entire right wing) or hating them (for Lumplard, Cashley
and the likes).
Liverpool, along with Standard Chartered Bank, have launched a program for nurturing football
talent in over 2000 children from around 80 schools run by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation
(BMC).
There are over 650,000 students from the financially challenged section of the society in over a
1000 schools run by the BMC.
Stoke City boss Tony Pulis has expressed his satisfaction at stopping Liverpool from playing after
his side beat the Reds 1-0 at the Britannia Stadium.
The win came courtesy of a contentious penalty after Jamie Carragher was deemed to have illegally
brought down Jonathan Walters, incurring the wrath of Kenny Dalglish after the game, with the Scot
displeased that his side had seen several appeals fall on deaf ears.
Well it is according to this picture showing Santon being presented to the cameras at St James'
Park, complete with Newcastle United shirt and Alan Pardew anyway. We shall of course endeavour to
update you with any further developments.
The season will start on Sunday for Wolves Women and I believe that they are more positive than
ever. They are aiming towards promotion this season and I really hope for their success in that
endeavour. Paddytheflea will not, however, cover Wolves Women this season. For two reasons; I don't
have the time necessary to [.
Match Review: Liverpool 1 Sunderland 1
Liverpool's great expectations turned to harsh reality as they were held to a 1-1 draw by
Sunderland on the opening day of the season. The Reds showed signs of promise throughout the first
half, but couldn't carry it over after the interval and ultimately missed out on making the dream
start they so desperately craved.
Bueno Signs Pre-Contract With Liverpool
Mexican starlet Marco Bueno has signed a pre-contract with Liverpool, according to reports
coming from the player's homeland. The youngster has been handed a 10-day trial with the Reds, and
the club are keen to secure first refusal on him to avoid other parties muscling in on the
deal.

THE QPR CUSTOMER CHARTER
In July 2008, the club posted on its Official Site its "Customer Charter" for 2008-2009.
Picking a favourite football kit is an endeavour not too far removed from naming one's favourite
dictator – an aberration here, a crime against humanity there, writes John McGee. Our motley band
have stepped forth in an attempt to split the Pol Pots from the VI Lenins in this year's bunch. As
with most votes there has been no clear winner so the arbiter has been the author of the article.
Short of the Premier League changing its mind and awarding Arsenal the league title for plucky
against-all-likelihood endeavour, the one thing that would have kicked the summer off in a
marvellous and positive fashion would have been some early incomings.
Wishful thinking, it seems, seeing that a) in signing terms it's early doors (whatever early
doors are) and b) the futures of two very important players are obfuscated if, indeed, obfuscated
is the word I'm looking for.
It has come to pass, then, that German football sees its first Arab investor with last week's
announcement that Hasan Ismaik bought a 49% ownership stake in 1860 Munich. The thirty-four year
old Jordanian reportedly signed away €18 million in order for the Bavarian club to avoid a
calamitous descent from the 2.
Match highlights. I shall endeavour to update these with longer and better ones when they are
available. Newcastle United: Tim Krul, Danny Simpson, Fabricio Coloccini, Steven Taylor, Jose
Enrique, Ryan Taylor, Joey Barton, Danny Guthrie, Shane Ferguson, Peter Lovenkrands, Shola Ameobi.
Subs: Ranger, Soderberg, LuaLua, Tavernier, Kuqi, Smith, Best.
Match highlights. I shall endeavour to update these with longer and better ones when they are
available. With Newcastle ensuring safety for the season, but incapable of securing European
competition, and also with Manchester United finally securing the Premier League title yesterday,
there should have been something of a 'dead rubber' feel about this game.
We're all the same, football fans. Turn up every week, that familiar and engaging mix of
optimism and dedication at kick-off, tinged with the total certainty that the wheels are going to
fall off at the earliest opportunity. "Typical insert name of your team here, trust us to
have it all go wrong" Really though, is there a team like Spurs?
Match highlights. I shall endeavour to update these with longer and better ones when they are
available. Newcastle United manager, Alan Pardew, his team's "character", "resilience",
"discipline" and team spirit. He also hails the performance of Birmingham 'keeper, Ben Foster for
keeping his side down to two goals.
Match highlights. I will endeavour to update these with longer and better ones when they are
available. Newcastle United manager, Alan Pardew, regrets Newcastle's lack of "je ne sais quoi" in
the box, and feels that Barton's missed chance, and Liverpool's penalty were turning points in the
game. Liverpool mamager, Kenny Dalglish, felt that Newcastle [.
A trip up to the north west beckons our weary team and our magnificent travelling support.
Some would say we're a team traumatised by recent setbacks in the league: the loss of a two goal
lead last time out, the late, late penalty equaliser against the ‘dippers last weekend and the
pair of home nil-nils against Blackburn and Sunderland.
Match highlights of the game. I will endeavour to update these with longer ones when they are
available. Alan Pardew say that he is "satisfied" with a point under the circustances blaming
tiredness after the performance against Manchester United on Tuesday evening for a certain
"flatness" in the team.
Ladies and Gentle Arses I have a proposition.
One of the finest things about supporting the world's greatest football team is that it makes us
part of a vast tribe of like-minded people.
Whenever I see a stranger walking along the street wearing Arsenal regalia I feel a surge of
pride and pleasure.
We came to celebrate, and despite the result we were not downhearted.
We battled through the hold-ups on the M25 and the Blackwall Tunnel, blanched at the accident on
the North Circular and arrived in our seats panting from effort as well as excitement. Same old
jokes, we make them, we're told them and still we laugh as if we've never heard them before.
A game between Man United and Arsenal is always a big one. The years of rivalry, the quality of
the two teams, the fact that sooner or later someone needs to kick Patrice Evra right in his
swollen balls, the reasons are pretty much endless.
Today's FA Cup 6th round clash probably has more significance than both teams would like.
A very exciting encounter for a 0-0 draw with Newcastle United dominating the game attack wise,
especially in the second half. Alas, the winning goal just didn't come but there were some exciting
moments on the way, with a particularly good performance from the usually excellent Jose Enrique. I
shall endeavour to update these with [.
Apologies for the rather brief nature of the highlights so far, Just Kevin Nolan's 52nd minute goal
and the build up really. However we will endeavour to update them with some longer highlights when
we find them. The game strted off as a fairly scrappy affair in the first half. Newcastle gradually
appeared to achieve [.
Dr. Joel RookwoodAfter a disappointing opening fixture of the Asian championships, matches in Group A continued on
Saturday with China taking on Kuwait. A crowd of less than seven-thousand rattled around Doha's Al
Gharafa stadium, a ground with a capacity of four times that. Thanks to an interesting
architectural design the view from our 'VIP' seats offered a full 40% panoramic view of the pitch.
Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson is looking forward to the FA Cup third round clash against fierce
rivals Manchester United and hopes his side can use the magic of the cup to turn around their poor
form.
United, unbeaten after 20 league games, are clear favourites for the clash with Hodgson's men, who
lost 3-1 to Blackburn in their last fixture.
Last night wasn't pretty to watch. We were systematically taken apart and not only had no plan B
but looked at times like we had no plan A. With Chelsea losing and the Arsenal/City game ending in
a draw we had one of those moments in a season where a team can really make a statement.
