Arsenal does not really do transitional seasons, or does it? Somehow, through the magic of
Wenger, we have been able to rebuild squads and first teams without losing sight of silverware and
European football in every single season the Frenchman has been at the helm.
I've got to admit, feeling like a loser has become a part of my identity, low self-confidence
hard-wired into my DNA by virtue of too many years of hardship. On Saturday morning, as Arsenal
destroyed Blackburn 7-1, I got to feel like a winner again. And it felt good. Really good.
In terms of pure bliss, I don't know that I've sincerely enjoyed any weekend of sports more than
the past one.
From what I've read from Mirrorfootball's 'exclusive' is that an Arsenal fan group are planning to
put bin-liners on all empty seats in the ground, in the next home match vs Blackburn, to highlight
dwindling attendances... One problem with that chaps Arsenal play to a full house practically every
game.

With 3 defeats in the last 4 games and an unconvincing win against Leeds in the last round of
the FA Cup, Arsenal fans were feeling far from optimistic ahead of this 4th round clash against
Aston Villa.
Rumour had it that the Gunners injury list was starting to ease, and so it
proved with Sagna, Henry and Arteta all named on the bench and also the young Frenchman Coquelin
was deputising at right back.

Witch hunts, apathy, delusion and greed, all pathetically wrapped up in an unshakable belief in
a divine right to win. Recognise it? Of course you do. Unfortunately it describes many so-called
Arsenal supporters, who today stand supreme amongst football folk in their ability irrespective of
the injury situation and short of any real knowledge of the internal politics or financial
situation facing the club, to defame our great clubs name just by confessing their poisonous
support.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes that the club's 8-2 defeat away to Manchester United five
months ago will have no impact on their preparation for this Sunday's rematch at the Emirates while
skipper Robin van Persie strongly feels otherwise.
Speaking to the club's website ahead of United's trip to North London, Wenger explained that no
matter what, his side cannot reverse the disaster that occurred in Manchester last August and
hence, they must look at Sunday's match as a new opportunity altogether.
If you're anything like me, you still love Lego, and the Morgan's over in Norway have found the
perfect way to wish every football fan a Happy Christmas using the famous kids toy... English

The world of football has changed in so many ways since first I clambered up the steps at
Highbury and looked down in awe at the scene before me; an oblong of green set at the bottom of a
man made bowl, the concrete sides towering above it. There it was the home of my schoolboy dreams,
the canvass on which I had for all my growing years drawn in my mind's eye the daring deeds which
I, "Roy of the Arsenal" had performed heroically, defeating all and sundry with magical skills and
wondrous last minute goals.

Der Film „A Night at the
Emirates" zeigt in ungefähr fünf Minuten, wie ein normaler Spieltag im [.

Bolton Wanderers fail to make a good impression at The Emirates.
The game is underway, the action has reached a point of let's be honest, boredom. The Emirates
crowd is hushed awaiting some excitement, it doesn't come, a player makes a mistake, groans cascade
down towards the pitch, a young man stands up and with arms aloft sings "Arsenal, Arsenal Arsenal"
at the top of his voice.
A recent blog on the AA website called 'Project Youth-fact or
fiction?' (great write Illybongani) got me thinking about the direction that Arsenal has been
heading in the last 6 trophyless years and also the grief that Arsène Wenger has had to endure.
Fans seem to be divided into 2 opinions.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is of the opinion that the Gunners' season begins in earnest with
victory over Swansea City at the Emirates Stadium after a dreadful start to the new campaign. It
was former British Prime Minster Harold Wilson who once said that ‘a week is a long time in
politics'. Indeed, the [.
The season starts here. The Boss said so? No, the season started at Newcastle and we have one
point out of nine, that's right, one out of nine. Our worst start since Alex James took a drag from
his Woodbine prior to walking onto the Highbury turf (perhaps).
Thankfully much has changed since OT and quite frankly it needed to.

Much has been said about the perceived success (or lack of it), of Wenger's ‘Project Youth',
particularly since the move to the Emirates. Arsenal Football Club are now seen as standard bearers
in the development of young professional footballers. But is this accolade warranted or is it a
misnomer?

How tough has this summer been for us Gooners? It is not over yet. I cannot
help it, but the transfer window activities during this summer remind me of Ravel's Bolero.
Unfortunately, this is not a reference to Bo Derek's question in the film ‘10': ‘Did you ever
do it to Ravel's Bolero?

The final weekend before the Premier League kicks off is over, and all that separates us from
competitive football is five long days of work (or daytime TV, depending on your current
situation). We're coming to the end of the Worst Pre-Season Ever (copyright), our squad is
paper-thin with no real sign of reinforcements, and Rooney is not just a big-mouthed, balding
granny shagger, he also believes that coming back from 2-0 down represents a "footballing
lesson".
The final home game in what has been an ultimately disappointing season, and a chance to almost
cement 3rd place.
It hurt watching the Manchester clubs yesterday. Manchester City won the FA Cup and
congratulations to the knuckle dragging, bog dwelling mingers upon winning the Title.
I can write in two words why we didn't win the PL in a year when we were surely the best
football team Home Form.
Arsenal, Boca Juniors, New York Red Bulls and Paris Saint-Germain will compete in Emirates Cup
2011MLS UK reported two weeks ago that New York Red Bulls had been invited to play in the Emirates Cup.
Today rumour became confirmation, and Hans Backe's side will indeed be travelling to London this
summer.
Ladies and Gentle Arses I have a proposition.
One of the finest things about supporting the world's greatest football team is that it makes us
part of a vast tribe of like-minded people.
Whenever I see a stranger walking along the street wearing Arsenal regalia I feel a surge of
pride and pleasure.
Amidst all the excitement and discussion about the Kroenke takeover, I chanced upon an amusing
news article yesterday. The headline caught my eye and I ended up laughing for a few minutes after
reading it.
CORLUKA: I CALLED FAN AN IDIOT
These were the words that had me in splits,
I told one supporter he was an idiot.

Have you ever wished you could go back in time to see the Gunners of an earlier era?
Now for those scientifically inclined, I know it is not possible to go back in time, and we
could have an interesting chat as to why that is, but let's just dream that it is possible for a
moment!
Aura and Grrrr
Written by mickydidit89
I think we, The Arsenal, need a new Aura.
Now, we are not Chavs, so we will not simply pop out to Harrods and buy the most expensive one
available. No, because remember we have Class, and while that is something quite tricky to define,
we all know that we have the stuff in abundance.

The football world has changed a great deal over the Premiership years, with the top clubs
in particular becoming a corporate playground, yet I bet there are still many real fans out there,
living as I did in Parallel universes attending games in corporate mode, both as guest and
host.
Lúcio, Maico and Elano back in the fold for the Scotland game
Brazil coach Mano Menezes has called up 23 players for the international friendly against
Scotland on March 27th in Arsenal's Emirates stadium.
Three players that appeared for Brazil in last year's World Cup make a return as Menezes opts for
experience with Maicon, Lúcio and Elano.
Form, as they say, is temporary. Class is permanent.
According to the form books, Barcelona are pretty good at the moment. And Chelsea have had a
decent run over the last few years. Manchester United have had a great 20 years and we all know
about the Liverpool heyday in the ‘70s and ‘80s.
Did Wednesday night's game at the Emirates mark a watershed for the Arsenal? All the reports I
have read about the Emirates have decried the lack of atmosphere and compared it to a library.
Now, never having been there, I am these days the archetypal armchair fan subscribing to every
TV and Computer feed that will bring me the games as they happen and have therefore got used to the
sound or lack off it, in many cases, coming through my speakers.
That's it confirmed then.
Faroe Islands hammered. Northern Ireland hammered.
So the obvious next step for Craig Levein's re-born Scotland team is to tackle Brazil.
2pm on Sunday 27th March. Scotland v Brazil at the Emirates Stadium in London.
A tenth meeting between the two.
Whatever Cesc Fabregas did or didn't say in the tunnel at half time during the Everton game,
David Moyes's comments on the issue are pathetic.
Clearly he wanted to distract attention away from his team's latest defeat and their lowly position
(15th) in the EPL.
Apart from insisting that Cesc should have been given a red card for what he allegedly said in
the tunnel, Moyes also claimed that any fair minded observer would have felt his team deserved to
come away with something from Tuesday's game.

It was back in August 2007, I remember arriving at my new seat in the North Bank Upper for the
opening game of the season, to a fantastic view of the resplendent Emirates pitch.
Our opponents that day were Fulham, ‘easy game' we thought, except David Healy and Jens
Lehman had other ideas.

It's time to fly the flag, to stand up and be counted, to be unequivocally and shamelessly
chauvinistic about all things Arsenal. Today, we fight for our pride!
I may be preaching to the choir on this one but a re-affirmation of all that the letters AFC
stands for is long overdue.
His performances may not be on par with those of Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo but Robin van
Persie is quickly beginning to realize the potential that has made him one of Arsenal's greatest
assets. In fact, based on current form, one can make a case the Dutchman being the club's most
valuable player (MVP).

Grow up Theo, 'twas not a penalty!
Arsenal could only manage a 1-1 draw with Leeds United thanks to a 90th minute penalty from
captain Cesc Fabregas.
Manager Arsene Wenger made nine changes from the 0-0 draw with Manchester City on Wednesday with
Johann Djourou and Alex Song keeping their starting place.
Why Going Away beats staying at Home. Written by Gooner in Exile
This is the picture my Brother as Best Man left on everyones place setting at my wedding, tucked
away in an envelope only to be revealed at his say so. It is, I am afraid to say fellow Gooners,
me. In my defence it was my 4th Birthday 24 June 1980, as some of you will know, shortly after the
FA Cup Final in which Trevor Brookings header defeated The Arsenal.
