Here are updates from today's group stages. Teams are playing their second of three games and I
offer thoughts on their opportunity to advance.

A late first half goal by Jessica Kelley gave Emily Cline, Shelby
Hatz and their teammates their first win of the group stage.
The Springfield SC 94/95 Boys, fresh from their State Championship at the Missouri Cup last
Thursday, are enroute to Appleton WI today to compete in the Region 2 Tourney. Part of the USYSA
National Championship series, their State title sends them to this regional round with the regional
age group winners then advancing to the National Championships in Phoenix next month.
The Missouri Soccer Coaches Association have released their All-State Girls teams.
Congratulations to the players from this region who were recognized Emily Cline, Molly Brewer,
Lauren Moats, Haley Baker, Alix Opfer, Kali Kuse, Marin Gelsheimer and Kindra Lierz.

The Post-Dispatch has the story from Wednesday's U18 Girls Final at the Missouri State Cup:
Cline came off the SLSG Green Academy bench to score the lone goal in a 1-0 victory over SLSG
Navy in the Under-18 women's championship game Wednesday night at the Scott Gallagher Complex.
Kindra Lierz, Glendale Falcons (2014)
The Missouri Soccer Coaches Association has released the Class 3 Southwest Region Honors. The
Region includes Districts 11 and 12, won by Glendale and Parkview respectively. Glendale finished
3rd in the recently completed Class 3 State Tournament. District 11 includes Finalist Kickapoo,
Ozark, Nixa and Branson.
Emily Cline, Glendale Falcons (2011) at 2009 Semifinal vs IWA
The Class 3 playoffs will open Friday at 5:00 pm with a St Louis semifinal between Incarnate Word
and Ursuline Academy. The Glendale Falcons will then take on the defending State Champion Liberty
Jays at 7:00 pm. It should be a pretty good weekend with three of the teams ranked in the ESPN Rise
Powerade Fab 50 including #10 Liberty, #43 Incarnate Word and #47 Ursuline.

Drury women's soccer coach Alf Bilbao has announced the completion of a five-member recruiting
class for the 2011-12 season including three Springfield prep standouts for the Panthers.
Joining the DU program this fall are:

Emily Cline – Forward from Springfield's Glendale High School who plans to play
both soccer and basketball at Drury.

One regularly scheduled match and a pair of weather make-ups are on tonights calendar. The
scheduled match is Kickapoo vs Glendale, the game that counts towards Conference rankings in their
annual derby. Glendale is undefeated in Conference and a loss to Kickapoo would drop them to 8-1,
sharing the title with Camdenton.
