We've covered the forwards, and we've covered the front office. Heck, our front office results
actually have been 100% correct so far, with Tom Soehn leaving the team and Kasper and Payne set to
return. We'll have to wait a while to find out if our forward results are correct, but in the
meantime, let's see what everyone has to say about our attacking midfielders.

Following their 1-0 win at San Juan Jabloteh on Sept 15th, the guys have been resting up,
practicing, and hopefully getting some tactical and finishing work in before their next game on
Thursday, against Marathon. I've been doing much of the same, save for the practicing or working on
my finishing.

I had my doubts about this lineup going in because it just seemed way too defensive. I'm in favor
of continuing with the 4-4-2 formation for the duration of this tournament, but my vision of a
4-4-2 involves attacking wingers, and maybe a creative attacking central midfielder. McTavish and
Allen aren't really what you think of in terms of attacking wingers, and Andrew Jacobson isn't
really the most creative CAM either.

A loss is pretty much what we expected on the road in Honduras, but it's disappointing all the same
because it could have been so much more. And we're once again reminded of 2008. If you're
unfortunate enough to recall the 2008 Champions' Cup and Superliga, you'll remember that DC United
looked to be of fairly equal caliber to most of their opponents, but ultimately flunked out of the
tournaments due to several individual mistakes and unlucky breaks.

MLS Rumors 23 July @ 09:32 AM EST
Credible rumors circulating in certain quarters indicate to us that the former LA Galaxy winger and
a guy who trained with Seattle Sounders in pre-season has signed a contract with the capital club.
Allen, a former Pac-10 Player of the Year is a Seattle native so it was thought he'd secure a place
on the Sounders.

Ever wonder what happened to the guys from long ago? Yeah, me too, but that will take a little
more digging. Until then, here's the latest on the latest former Galaxy guys.
After training with Seattle Sounders FC in the preseason, Ely Allen is now
playing for USL's (Premier Development League) Seattle Wolves FC.

I contacted Ely Allen because he was a local star in college, had played for the Galaxy, was a
trialist for Sounders FC and recently has joined the Seattle Wolves. Little did I know until today
that Allen and I went to the same high school (over a decade apart). Ely is a [...]

MLS Rumors 01 March @ 10:59 AM EST
It looks like the former LA Galaxy midfielder joined Sounders FC in Argentina for a trial.
According the Sounders web site:
Joining the team on Saturday was Ely Allen, a former University of Washington midfielder waived
earlier in the week by the L.A. Galaxy.

The Galaxy looked sharper than they had in weeks last Saturday against the Revolution, which
bodes well for the run they will have to make in order to get into the playoffs. However, this
Saturday MLS has, in its infinite wisdom, decided to schedule league matches concurrently with a
FIFA World Cup qualifier date.

Or so says Ives in this post.
I'm on record in the comments of my last SBI Supporter's View saying that I wouldn't have used
the allocation for Cory Gibbs due to his injury history and cost against the salary cap (not like I
actually know what that is, of course). But I am not the guy(s) in charge of personnel over at the
HDC (that can only be a good thing) and I guess their calculus told them to pull the trigger.

Last night's game against the Rapids had a little bit of everything in it. I'm not even sure
where to begin.
After establishing a 3-0 lead, and after two red card sendoffs at the end of the second half
(Gordon, LA, and Erpen, Colorado), the Galaxy lost its defensive pressure and possession allowing
the Rapids to score two of their own by the 74th minute.
