It's a pretty futile task to find any headlines other than those pertaining to the question of
the England manager's job this morning but is it inevitable that Harry Redknapp is about to step
into Fabio Capello's expensive Italian shoes?

I'll address here.

In British soccer, the number nine takes on extra significance for an elite attacking player.
Historically a center forward, at certain clubs the number has a legacy all its own. Previous
Everton #9 Duncan Ferguson had a tattoo of the number and it's normally associated with the player
most representative of the club.
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has been given the FIFA presidential award for
services to football. The United manager was presented with the award by FIFA president Sepp
Blatter at the FIFA Ballon d'Or gala in Zurich.
Talking about SAF, Blatter said:
"Elite football is all about results and winning and there is no one better at it than him.

There is nothing high-level available for this group of players during their off-seasons. That
hurts, and it must be fixed!
During the holidays we held a 4 day camp for them.
It was a pilot program really, as we have never done such a thing, but I was pleased with the
turnout.

Former LA Galaxy and USMNT midfielder Kyle Martino may have had the purest of intentions when he
posted this on Twitter, but we aren't going to apologise for jumping in, nicking his idea and
exploiting it for all it's worth.
For those who can't be bothered to click the link, Kyle tweeted the following challenge last
night:
"One player from each position (GK, Defender, Midfielder, Forward) under the tree this year, who
is it?
Last night news broke that Chelsea will be willing to listen for offers of around £20m for
Fernando Torres in January as long as someone can match his reported £150K per week wages. The
story continued that Chelsea had already put the feelers out around Europe amongst the elite to see
if anyone wanted to take him.
Elite football is not totally immune from the recession after all: the six national teams in Europe
with the most lucrative headline sponsorships will go to Euro 2012 with combined deals worth less
money than they had at the 2010 World Cup.

November was another strong month for the Boro. Another "giant" was put in their place.
Stevenage 2-1 Sheffield United
Another one of League One's elite were beat at the Lamex. Goals from Mark Roberts and Scott
Laird were enough to give Graham Westley's side the 3 points as they continued to push up the
table.
While the play was wild and wooly, the Beach parents were something to behold. Swearing at our
players, screaming at the refs. Unbelievable. They even were screaming when Sodium scored to the
point where there own daughters had to come over and tell them that the ball actually did go in
before they would shut up.
Happy Thanksgiving to you from all of us at Chelsea Offside. As has become tradition around
these parts, we have foregone helpings of thinly sliced turkey in favor of a cooked Guus.

Only two more rounds of the group stage of the Champions League remain, and for quite a few
teams, that means the margin for error is slim to none.
Over the final two match days, there are a number of important games that will determine how

The U.S. Futsal national team, led by Milwaukee Wave coach Keith Tozer, finished 0-3 at
the Grand Prix tournament in Manaus, Brazil.
The Americans, ranked 24th in the world, lost to No. 27 Uruguay 7-0 and sixth-ranked Iran 8-0 on
Monday before closing out Group C play at the elite tournament Tuesday with a 10-7 loss to
Belgium.
