Mexico seemed ready to settle for a draw with Venezuela, but two late goals coming in a span of
a minute lifted El Tri to a 3-1 victory over the South Americans.
Fielding a squad largely comprised of players competing for a spot on the Olympic qualifying
team, the Mexicans won on Wednesday night courtesy of goals from Rafael Marquez Lugo and Oribe
Peralta in the 88th and 89th minutes, respectively.
Vancouver, Canadá, tras golear a República Dominicana 7-0.

If 2011 was a roller coaster year of the U.S. Men's National Team, it was a ride that featured
more plunges than peaks. A disappointing second place finish in the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup was
followed by the sacking of head coach Bob Bradley after a five-year tenure that included a run to
the 2009 Confederations Cup Final and a trip to the 2011 World Cup Round of 16.

LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. -- Most of the players called into the U.S. Under-23 men's national team
camp that ply their trade in a league other than MLS have yet to break into their team's
rotation.
That's not the case for Joe Corona.
At 21, Corona is a regular in Club Tijuana's gameday rosters.
Carlos Tevez appears to be inching closer to resolution on his future.
The much-maligned Manchester City striker has a major suitor in AC Milan, which has reportedly
extended an offer to take the player on loan for the rest of the season before purchasing his
contract during the summer.
En el mundial 2010
la selección estaba llena de pelones
aun así no salieron campeones
Primero vamos por partes
el capitan es Rafael Marquez
Alguno se creia artista
en realidad,era el Bofo Bautista
Por eso la flaca en esta ocasión
se lo llevo por estar pelón
Aguirre te habías tardado
en meter Andres Guardado
A Javier le dijo esperame tantito
el mejor de todos es Chicharito
jóvenes viajaron a la copa
casi los dejaron sin ropa
todo por ir Argentina
y a unas chicas en la tina
Después llego Fernando Tena
que solo fue a dar pena
la calaca se los quiere llevar
a todos por su mal andar
pero entonces llego un loro
y México se llevo el oro
La catrina se pudo triste
el tri le conto un chiste
La FMF grito en la torre
y contrato al Chepo De la Torre
por esta los voy a dejar pasar
porque el tri empezara a Ganar

Remember when you read that Joe Corona was all set to play for Mexico and pass on the chance to
play for his actual country of birth, the United States?
Well, scratch that one. It seems the LA-born Corona is ready to follow in the footsteps of Jose
Torres and Edgar Castillo and bypass Mexico to play for the United States.

Bem-vindo a Bootcamp Monday! We're almost reaching the end of this

there are many Mexican Futbolita readers, so if you'd like to say "OIII!"
to Mano's men, they're putting up at Hotel Camino Real, where a
churro or two would be most welcome if you'd like to slip past those buff security guys
(just kidding).

Omar Gonzalez says he's open to suiting up for El Tri. This makes me sad. Not because he'd go the
other way (he has dual citizenship) but because Klinsmann's hesitancy to call up the big man is
what's driven him to contemplate such madness.
Or maybe it's not madness, just gamesmanship.

* Who will Jurgen Klismann's new-look USMNT face on the Tuesday, October 11th open
international date?
What is it about playing soccer in New York that makes good players want to go on vacation? What
is it about the most visible MLS franchise that makes heralded, respected athletes put their
reputations at risk by shifting into early retirement mode while still collecting a hefty paycheck?
And being so damn obvious about it?
MLSsoccer.com reports that former US national team coach Bob Bradley could be headed to the land of
America's biggest soccer rival.
According to multiple reports out of Mexico, Bradley is set to take over Mexican Primera División
side Santos Laguna. He was seen arriving at the Torreón airport on Sunday evening, reportedly to
begin negotiations with the club.

The USA traveled to Amsterdam in March of 2010, a few months before the Netherlands made the
final of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.The Netherlands are No. 1 according to the latest FIFA rankings, becoming only the seventh nation
in history to reach the top of the FIFA table.

Calls for "Cleetus 2.0" just got louder.
For sixty minutes, the United States plodded along like a side still lost in the wilderness, no
matter what name was spelled out in the press guide next to "Manager."
There was little in the way of attack, save an early cross just past a leaping Edson Buddle's
head and a late arriving Jermaine Jones' outsretched right leg.
The United States and Mexico battled to a 1-1 draw in an international soccer friendly in
Philadelphia, PA on Wednesday night. New USA boss Jurgen Klinsmann and his Mexican counterpart Jose
Manuel de la Torre fielded squads that consisted of mixes of regulars and fringe players in a
rematch of June's 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup Final.

No one should have been looking for redemption in Wednesday night's friendly with Mexico. The
next chapter in US Soccer's metamorphosis was opened instead, as Jurgen Klinsmann's squad fought
back from an early hole and drew Mexico at 1.
Still fresh in many minds was the four-goal collapse against El Tri in Los Angeles a few short
weeks ago.
It's been a little over six weeks since the U.S. men's national team fell to Mexico in the Gold
Cup final, but things won't be exactly the same when the two teams square off tonight in a friendly
at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, PA (9pm ET, ESPN2).

It is a dawn of a new day for the US Men's National Team. Jurgen Klinsmann's first game as the
US coach is a big one, against arch-rival Mexico. There is no way of getting around it, this one
will be anything but friendly.

Mexican national teams have won two international tournaments this summer, and El Tri's U-20
squad got one step closer to potentially making it three.
Mexico advanced to the quarterfinals of the U-20 World Cup after defeaing Cameroon in a penalty
shootout following a 1-1 draw.

Following the recent appointment of Jurgen Klinsmann as the coach of the US Mens National Team,
the focus of US Soccer has turned to Philadelphia, where the Nats will play host to Mexico on
Wednesday night in an effort to kick off Klinsmann's US career by turning over a three match losing
streak against their arch-rivals.
Here's everything you need to know to get fully prepared for tonight's USA-Mexico match.
A sample...
- Landon Donovan has five goals in 13 appearances against Mexico.
- Jose Torres, who holds both U.S. and Mexican passports and chose to represent the United
States, has yet to face Mexico at the international level.

When Timmy Chandler was replaced on the U.S. Soccer roster ahead of Wednesday's friendly against
Mexico because of fitness issues, it disappointed plenty who wanted to see Chandler have the chance
to go up against El Tri's speedy wingers, an asset that the United States did not have during this
summer's CONCACAF Gold Cup final.
