The burning of the Scottish sheep fan

The Beautiful Game (2) 02 November @ 06:07 AM EST
Another headline that's surely never been written in the history of the English language.
This story takes us to Scotland, where it turns out a bunch of Aberdeen fans were dressed as sheep as they rode the train to an upcoming soccer match against Hibs in Edinburgh.
One unfortunate 24-year-old dude was apparently set alight and ran through the cars with his sheep-suit engulfed in flames. Click to continue reading...

As the saga at Rangers continues towards a potentially horrid (or amusing, depending on your allegiances) conclusion, Walter Smith is not the only one concerned at the lack of progress. Over in Edinburgh things are not going according to plan for the Maroon half of the city, as Hearts gaffer Csaba Lazslo says he'll consider his [. Click to continue reading...

We'll Always Have Moscow

The Scottish Football Blog 06 August @ 02:37 PM EST
Even for me getting a prediction wrong before the start of the season is quite impressive. But I'll admit Celtic's last minute heroics in Moscow proved me wrong. Had I actually bet my house on them winning I'd be writing this from somewhere more exotic than Edinburgh. But Celtic did it last night and fair play to them. Click to continue reading...

Bolton Wanderers and the Virgin

Oldham Athletic Are The Real Latics 05 August @ 11:45 AM EST
I was struggling to find something to write about today until I came across this.
Bolton Wanderers used Virgin Trains to take them to Edinburgh for their pre-season match against Scottish Premier side Hearts.
All was well - £4,000 was paid in June for the travel - the players and staff lined up at the station to board the train, only to discover some of their seats had been taken.

Pitch Invasion 01 July @ 12:47 PM EST

While a good majority of the negative attention surrounding relocation of football clubs is aimed at McDons (Milton Keynes Dons, the franchise that replaced Wimbledon F.C.), and with good reason, many tend to forget that they were not the first in Britain. In Scotland, what is now Livingston FC did the same thing in 1995 when they, then known as Meadowbank Thistle, abandoned Edinburgh in favor of a new stadium in the new town of Livingston, West Lothian.

Today's vital clash between Celtic and Hearts is the 276th League meeting between the two sides.
