Michael Bradley's first season with Roma has hit its first speed bump.
According to Italian publication Gazzetta Dello Sport, Bradley suffered a muscle strain in his
right leg and will be out for Roma's trip to Inter Milan this weekend. There is no timetable given
for his return, and the injury will be monitored in the coming days, so it is unclear how it will
affect his standing for the U.
Remember how the U.S. entered last two World Cup qualifiers with no fewer than eight players unavailable through injury, and how despite that the team collected a 1-0 win at home against Costa Rica, and then two more players got hurt, and we still pulled off a huge 0-0 draw at Estadio Azteca?

It's make it or break it time for the US Men's National Team head coach Jurgen Klinsmann as he gets ready to take part in the first Hexagonal World Cup Qualifier of the year. Wednesday's result, while it certainly doesn't seal the fate of the USMNT in the 2016 World Cup, could very well set the tone of what we can expect from team this year.
No real surprises in this one here and only a few minor takeaways.

The numbers are world cup qualifying gaps and goals, respectively.
Hoffman just wants to score goals. Keon Daniel scores a cracker for Trinidad & Tobago. Left back jinx continues with USMNT as Johnson and Castillo unavailable for Friday qualifier. More news.
Two more players, both (ahem) USMNT left backs are out for Friday. Edgar Castillo is also out for the Guatemala closer, but Fabian Johnson could be back for that. So... why aren't Heath Pearce and Chris Rolfe on their way to camp? We're now painfully thin (at best) at attack wide positions and left back, and reinforcements should be brought if for no other reason than in case of more injuries.

I'm back in town after a weekend away. I'll get to some MLS items later on but just a quick note about this week, posts will be few and far between. I'll be tucked away at a conference the next two days, plus I have family in.
More defensive worries for U.S.A. fans heading into the World Cup qualifiers against Costa Rica and Mexico as Jurgen Klinsmann has dropped U.S. captain Carlos Bocanegra from the squad, while Timmy Chandler, Fabian Johnson and Danny Williams will miss the matches because of injuries and illness.
Besides Bocanegra there are eight players not in the squad that you would expect to see: Edgar Castillo (facial fractures), Chandler (hamstring), Steve Cherundolo (knee surgery), Tim Howard (broken bones in back), Johnson (hip), Jonathan Spector (ankle), Jose Torres (hamstring) and Williams (stomach virus).
With a little more than a week before the team begins reporting to Miami in preparation for the
two huge World Cup qualifiers against Jamaica, players have precious little time to make their last
case for inclusion on the roster. Several members of the MNT go head-to-head in leagues both east
and south of CONUS, which always adds a little intrigue.

Edgar Castillo has been enjoying one of the best runs of form in the U.S. Men's National Team pool in recent weeks, but he won't be a part of the upcoming World Cup qualifiers after suffering facial fractures in Club Tijuana's match against Atlast last weekend.
Herculez Gomez went scoreless but Santos Laguna still beat Chivas, Edgar Castillo helped Club Tijuana remain undefeated, while DaMarcus Beasley's goal drought continued.
Jermaine Jones has been quietly piecing together a strong season, and the 31-year-old midfielder will have an opportunity to further build on that when he takes on his former club in a marquee match on Saturday.

Aston Villa, now might be the best time to do so.
The Villans are in last place in the Premier League standings and changes could be coming in
order to help them avoid a third straight defeat at the start of the year.
