Well done to Arsenal on Wednesday, a deserved victory in a game that featured a mixture of
first-teamers and youth talent for both sides, as well as the highly anticipated debut of Alberto
Aquilani for the Liverpool. Emiliano Insua scored his first for the club, hitting a half-volley
from about 25 yards out that left Fabianski with no chance.

Yesterday's 2-2 draw against Fulham felt more like a capitulation than a draw. Walking away from
Eastlands on a cold, wet Sunday evening, the first questions that came to mind were as follows. Was
this an aberration? Or have we just taken a massive step back into last season?
I try not to be a pessimist, nor the fan who has a short memory.

Our man in the North was at Eastlands on Sunday:
Man City 2-2 Fulham
A crazy match, as our trips to Eastlands always seem to be. The common factor, of course, is the
home side: City's star-studded ranks play with such abandon – committed to attack despite leaving
generous space behind – that it seems Hodgson's normally conservative outfit can't help but join
in the fun.

If there is one criticism of late that Rafa would struggle to argue against it would be his use

season it looked like he had convinced Benitez of his importance but again this season Yossi has
found himself on the bench for reasons that have confounded just about every supporter, most
