This guy's a total douche, and his photo gallery offers compelling evidence that Sounders fans
are just a subset of the self-congratulatory culture permeating the city, as opposed to a special
case:

Recent stories run by CBS and other news organizations about Team Zaryen, a Haitian amputee soccer
team made up of individuals injured during the earthquake that struck Haiti in 2010, have brought
to the forefront a version of soccer that has been around since 1980. Amputee soccer was created by
Don Bennett, an amputee living [.

This has apparently been doing the rounds for a few days now so is therefore ancient in internet
years, but better late than never, eh?
What you're looking at is a seismic read-out of the area around the San Paolo Stadium in Naples
for the duration of the Napoli's 2-1 victory over Man City in the Champions League last week.
Hey look, it's Krazy George! Cracked.com ran an article titled "5 Sports Fans Who Ruined Sports"
and coming in at number 4 was Krazy George. What did Krazy George ruin? Apparently the sanity of
head coaches of most sporting teams.
According to the article Krazy George invented "The Wave" at a 1981 American League championship
game between the New York Yankees and Oakland A's.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted to the media that half of his players wanted to leave
the Emirates this summer. In the face of a potential player mutiny following the sales of Cesc
Fabregas, Samir Nasri, Gael Clichy, and Emmanuel Eboue, Wenger found it difficult to hold on to the
rest of his squad.
Sigh. Another game, another lack of attack until its too late, another failure to win. The Rapids
spent a good 60 minutes doing essentially nothing in the offensive third, and by then they were
down 1-0. They showed some life in the last 30 minutes and were somewhat unlucky not to find two
goals, but at the same time they were lucky to get one.
As many of you know by now, this past weekend was scheduled by FIFA as an international weekend
meaning that the club world took a break (for the most part) in order to facilitate some national
team games. The USA played twice against both Costa Rica and Belgium and lost both times. Such a
shame..
Ok so I haven't posted in almost a month. In that time it was the end of a summer class the
start of fall classes, an earthquake, a hurricane, and the end of the Kickers season. But VCU's 4:0
win over Elon today had me thinking.
VCU was able to pick up a 4:0 win with goals coming from an own goal by Elon, Jason
Johnson, Yoram Mwila, and Jose Carlos Castillo.
If you happened to catch this weeks CNN Hero, you would have seem that it was a soccer related
one so it is definitely worth a shout out! When Patrice Millet was diagnosed with
a deadly cancer, he decided to start living the life he'd always wanted: helping needy kids in his
native Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.
Not a lot of time this week -- a mid-week earthquake and an impending hurricane scenario will do
that to you. Makes more sense to take stock of things next week when the transfer window is closed
shut. Anyway, with teams seemingly spending less on old players in the Premier League and focusing
on youth -- whether by force from Michel Platini or not -- let's examine where the "Big Six" clubs
Liverpool show Arsène Wenger and Arsenal some uncomfortable truths
• Wenger will sort out problems at the Emirates, says Carragher • Frenchman stays calm but
admits his players were 'naive' The player in the bowels of the Emirates Stadium radiated
conviction. Arsenal would pick themselves up, he predicted, because Arsène Wenger knew.
Arsene Wenger is said to be mulling over a move for Everton midfielder Mikel Arteta as a
replacement replacement for Cesc Fabregas, reports suggest this morning.
While you're at it, Arsene, snap up Phil Jagielka and Marianne Fellaini from the Toffees as
well. But, seriously, I have been saying this for weeks: He.
A date has been announced!
A recent gobfest featuring the new PSSI has announced that the 2011/2012 Indonesian season will
commence on 8 October. Please note...do not book any flights for that date hoping to actually see a
game of football 'cos it may not happen. We're talking two months distant and that date, while it
may gel with the AFC requirements, does not tale into account the World Cup Qualifiers or the SEA
Games.
It's been a while since our last look at stadium construction around MLS. We'll start in
Houston, where the Dynamo's efforts to build in downtown Houston has progressed far enough to
warrant a webcam. The Dynamo are expected to contribute $60 million to the project. The proposed
stadium will be shared with Texas Southern Football and other local events.
Columbus' Strategy Coach Roberto Warchyza employed the exact same 4-5-1 formation on
Wednesday night that he used Saturday night in the Crew's scoreless draw at home against the
Earthquake. Gehrig and Ekpo both played centrally in the midfield. Gehrig sat deeper than Ekpo
especially when the crew moved up the field in attack.

The Philly Soccer Page " Stat chat: Three road wins
The Union's record on the road is now 3–4–3, the third road win of the season being another
club record. In the first five road games, the Union earned six points on the road with a record of
2–3–0. In the last five road games, the Union also earned six points with a record of
1–1–3.
Move over fellas. The women are the biggest draw around this summer. With the viewing numbers
set to be released in the next few days (and expect some records to be shattered), the internet has
already revealed a new Twitter record for the Women's World Cup final yesterday afternoon. The
match between the United States and Japan drew an average 7,196 tweets per second at its peak,
breaking the previously held record of 6,939 set just after midnight in Japan on New Year's
Day.
Abby WambachThe United States women's national soccer team gagged away the World Cup final
yesterday. They choked. They didn't have enough fitness or form to finish off Japan.
Japan was a worthy winner--and not because of an earthquake, tsunami or radiation disasters. They
wanted it more at the end.
After being the comeback kids for too many games, the US Women's National Team took the lead in
Sunday's 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup but were not able to keep it. In fact the US took leads twice
in the game only to have Japan equalize each time. On this day it was Japan who proved the
dominating team doesn't always go home with the hardware.

The New York Red Bulls are starting to grow accustomed to two things, one painfully annoying,
and one a welcome relief.
The Red Bulls once again watched their goalkeeper commit a goal-allowing blunder, but once again
watched Joel Lindpere step up and help his team find a result.
The Japan Football Association has confirmed that the world football body, FIFA, will donate about
$6 million in aid to J-League clubs affected by the disastrous 11 March earthquake and tsunami.
Several clubs, whose stadiums were damaged by the magnitude 9.0 earthquake and resulting tsunami,
will receive $4.
In what was supposed to be a great homecoming for DC United, it turned out to leave a sour taste
in the mouths of the home fans after they watched their beloved DC United give up four goals for
the fourth time this season. Steven Lenhart picked apart a dire performance from the young back
line as well as beating Bill Hamid to a ball in the air that the keeper should never have gone for
to score 3 and assist on one.
Even as everyone is ramping up for the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, let's not forget the U.S.
U-20s, who are in the process of preparing for qualifying for the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup
in Uzbekistan.
Yesterday, the U.S. U-20s defeated Japan, 2-1, on what we hear were excellent goals from Kelly Cobb
and Morgan Brian.
The Japanese LFC Supporters Club have hailed a charity event in aid of the victims of the
earthquake and Tsunami disaster as a 'huge success'.
Chairman Keiko Hirano revealed that over 150 Reds fans had turned out to participate in a
fun-filled auction on May 21, a day that saw them raise approximately £2800 courtesy of LFC gear
donated by fans across the globe.
Last night Tempête FC became the first Haitian side to qualify for the CONCACAF Champions League
after defeating Trinidad's Defence Force on penalties in a CFU Club Championship semifinal. The
match ended goalless but Tempête won the penalty shootout 4-2. This is very positive news for
Haitian football a year and a half after the catastrophic Haitian earthquake, and if the Haitian
federation can find a stadium in the country that meets CONCACAF standards, they will play either
Isidro Metapán or Morelia in the preliminary round.
Japan have withdrawn again from July's Copa America once again.
The JFA initially pulled out when March's earthquake and tsunami forced the J-League to reschedule
during the Copa America, but re-entered the competition following discussions with CONMEBOL, who
were still keen for Japan to take part.
TOKYO, Japan Costa Rica has accepted an invitation to replace Japan in the Copa America, the soccer
championship of South America. Japan withdrew Tuesday because of problems forming a team following
March's earthquake and tsunami. Costa Rica will send a team of players mostly under 23, with five
older players.
Mark Geiger has been much maligned for his refereeing decisions during the Philadelphia Union's
game against the San Jose Earthquakes last Saturday, but there was one important call he got
completely correct. Geiger's handball call on Earthquakes defender Jason Hernandez was absolutely
legitimate, despite the fact that almost anyone watching the game couldn't tell if it was or
not.

It's that time of the week you've all been waiting for -
Diary of an MLS Convert is back,
and the convert have, as usual, got plenty to say this week. Topics covered by supporters of
Eastern teams include whether or not to cheer for Real Salt Lake in the Champions League, poor MLS
refereeing, sexual flirtation with older women in trains (yes, seriously), the success of an
Englishman in MLS, a tattoo to commemorate beating Manchester United and controversy over a
red-carded celebration.

This week, languagecaster casts its eye around the world to take in games from Japan, where the
season gets underway again after the terrible earthquake and tsunami, Argentina, Spain, England,
and the Champions League semi final first legs.
Japan will enter the Copa America as a guest in July after all.Vice-President Kohzo Tashima has confirmed the JFA will send a team of
predominantly Europe-based players to the tournament, which takes place in
Argentina between the 1st and 24th of July.
Richmond, VA – (Monday, April 11, 2011) – The Richmond Kickers are pleased to
welcome the University of Richmond Taiko Ensemble, River City Taiko, a traditional Japanese drum
ensemble, to City Stadium this Friday, April 15. River City Taiko will perform during the Kickers
home game versus Rochester, slated to kick off at 7:00 p.
Currently, Siena lie second in Serie B, eight points ahead of third placed Novara. The club are
also only one point away from the summit, and it seems that promotion to Serie A is easily within
the club's grasp, barring any late season catastrophe. The club are somewhat fittingly preparing to
build a new stadium featuring an odd characteristic: it's partially underground.
The earthquake and tsunami in Japan has devasted Sendai, including the football stadium where
second flight Vegalta Sendai play. Here are their fans in happier times, just marvellous. I hope
they get themselves back on their feet very soon.

Japan is facing one of the worst crises the world has ever seen. I don't think that's hyperbole.
They need the help of the world, specifically yours, specifically mine. I was proud to see Major
League Soccer announce today that MLS W.O.R.K.S. is partnering up with the American and Canadian
Red Cross to give support for the disaster relief efforts following the earthquake and tsunami that
struck Japan last week.
