The regular season is over and the playoffs are the order of the day in Major League Soccer.
Surprise qualifiers Real Salt Lake made themselves known in the first leg of their tie with
Supporters Shield winners Columbus Crew, while all four conference semi-finals were even matches
with little to separate the sides.

Major League Soccer's playoffs begin tonight -- in less than ten minutes, as a matter of fact --
with the Sounders hosting Houston Dynamo, or Dynamo Houston. Here are the other matchups: East:
Columbus vs. Real Salt Lake Chicago vs. New England West: LA Galaxy vs. Chivas USA When I look at
the playoff matchups, any of the eight teams can appear at MLS Cup next month, and it's possible to
see a path to a league championship for all eight sides.

The standings continue to change in Major League Soccer as teams go through hot and cold streaks
in the long season. Seattle is now back in the number one spot, which they held for the first few
weeks of the season, and other teams like the LA Galaxy are finally starting to get some wins. The

After scoring the first goal of this past weekend's match of Kansas City vs Houston Dynamo, Houston
striker Kei Kamara reached down into his pants, pulled out a white glove and proceeded to emulate
the fallen pop star Michael Jackson.
Hate to say it but, Red Bull New York forward, John Wolyniec beat him to it by several months.

including the Chicago Fire and Kansas City Wizards are playing in SuperLiga and therefore have no
matches in Major League Soccer this weekend. Notable matches include Houston looking to continue
their hot streak against Real Salt Lake.

3-1 loss at home to the Houston Dynamo sends that dumb cannon back south. FC Dallas looked
dangerous at times but couldn't finish if their lives depended on it. Time for the best of the
reader comments...Sunday edition. I think this could be a fertile ground for great comments so I'll
add new comments all week as long as they come in.

To his credit, Bob Bradley has left very few stones unturned since taking over as head coach of the
United States Men's National Team in his quest to field the best-possible American squad. But
following what may have been the poorest performance by the country since crashing out of the 2006
World Cup in the group stage, maybe now is a good time to take a look at a few more MLS-based
players who could help supplement the team for the remainder of World Cup Qualifying and into South
Africa 2010.

Sir Alex can talk about winning the double this year but New England Revolution coach Steve Nichol
is trying to do him one better by winning the triple. The first leg in the triple was the SuperLiga

No official announcement yet but I think we have the answer of who is the mysterious
Atalanta player to sign for Toon today.
Atalanta's 17-year-old forward, Fabio Zamblera no single first-team appearance for his old club
so far, but he is a member of the Italy Under-18 International squad and was highly regarded
amongst the European young talent scouts.
