Liverpool's lack of potency in front of goal again proved costly as they were edged out by a
Natasha Dowie goal in the Merseyside derby.
Liverpool started well but were unable to put Rachel Brown under any kind of pressure before the
home side began to dominate.
First Vicky Jones then Danielle Gibbons denied Everton an opener around the 20 minute mark, as
Jones slid in to block a Dowie effort, before Liverpool's young goalkeeper turned a Toni Duggan
strike around the near post.
Ladies go down to derby defeat
Liverpool's lack of potency in front of goal again proved costly as they were edged out by a

Despite being paid handsomely (the irony is not lost!) to talk about things, Iain Dowie is a man
that cannot actually talk – and, by the looks of things, neither can he think that good about
stuff like numbers either. Schalke whupped Inter 5-2 in Milan last night meaning that, by Dowie's
calculations, the Nerazzurri [.
"Bouncebackability", a term that's probably eluded Lazio manager Edy Reja and his squad til now but
one of vital importance ahead of tomorrow's game with Cesena. Coined by anvil-headed Crystal Palace
manager Iain Dowie, it's literally the ability to ‘bounce-back' after defeat, and Lazio must
recover following Sunday's damaging 0-2 loss to city rivals Roma.
