Alan Kardec, Douglas Costa and Giuliano are the three musketeers ya'll should
be looking out for in the selecao. Granted, they didn't bring home the U-20 World Cup
trophy, but thankfully, they have a pretty awesome sense of humour to make up for it... although
Giuliano needs to stop showing off his body.

With the departure of Ronaldo and Xabi Alonso, the Premiership looks in danger of lacking the
Latin/Iberian flair and creativity. It is my opinion that English football needs entertainers while
maintaining its physical and energetic characteristics. Players who can bring crowds and viewers to
their feet with moments of magic.

Not so long ago I suggested that everyone just relax and stop worrying about the hyper-inflation of
transfer fees. They're only numbers I said, nothing to worry about. Well, Alex Ferguson disagrees.
He's looked at the spending of Real Madrid and Man City (who've just signed Carlos Tevez and are
now strongly linked with Emmanuel [.

Douglas Costa: over rated and over priced?
Weekend reports in the British press have again linked Grêmio's Douglas Costa with Manchester
United.
The Premier League club have apparently been chasing the 18-year-old midfielder for more than a
year. Now they may be close to getting their man in a cut-price deal, which could see Costa moving
initially for as little as £7 million plus performance-related add-ons.

It's been a while folks, so let's catch up on some of the recent goings-on. Obviously, we bought
Gabriel Obertan. The lad is twenty years old and promising but his progress has slowed down
recently and he is no longer as heralded as previously. Saying that, he was great in the Toulon
tournament recently and was only £3M so I think it could be good for us.

No 20 day holiday in Manchester for Douglas Costa
According to a report in Brazil's Globoesporte.com, Grêmio have turned down an apparent
proposal by Manchester United to take Douglas Costa on a short loan period. The Reds wanted to get

IT has so far been a hugely frustrating summer for United fans who have seen Ronaldo and then Tevez
heading for the Old Trafford exit door, many names have been linked to the club as potential
replacements but none of them have set pulses racing, that was until now because the champions are
being strongly linked to Gremio's diminutive midfield star Douglas Costa.

Contrary to reports circulating in the British press, Douglas Costa's agent, Cesar Bottega, does
not in fact believe that Manchester United are willing to pay the large fee Grêmio want for their
18-year-old.
"I don't believe that they [Manchester United] will reach this figure", the agent told Porto
Alegre newspaper Zero Hora.

Who will be in at Old Trafford this summer?
With the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo adding £80 million to Sir Alex Ferguson's usual £25-30 million
yearly budget. A summer spending spree is surely on the cards. Looking at the side, it would appear
to me a winger and some quality in centre midfield are needed, with possibly, a striker as the
icing on the cake.

FIFA, ever one to throw the middle finger to convention (See: World Cup 2010), has named their
players to watch in 2009 and done so by listing 13 players, clearly damning them all to a year of
unfortunate suckitude. It is, as one would expect, mostly a bunch of young prodigies and players on
