Corinthians have finally settled on what must be done to get melt away all the fat and the
craziness: lock him in a hotel and force feed him healthy foods.
It's been almost a full year since Adriano joined Corinthians after his three-year contract with
Roma was terminated seven months in.
If there's one thing I've learned from the Occupy Wall Street movement, it's that all the
protests in the world (bin bags, black scarves, etc) mean nothing in the face of the capitalist
juggernaut.
Yesterday Arsene Wenger went on record saying that rather than buying Eden Hazard for 30 million
pounds/euros (depending on which story you read), he had to show a fifteen to twenty million pound
profit.
Newcastle did very well to come back so well from the Brighton disaster that took place last
weekend. Danny Simpson in action at Ewood Park That 1-0 defeat at the Amex Stadium, after the
Newcastle squad spent four days in Tenerife in the Canary Islands, was not the result we
wanted to see, and put in doubt the whole mid-season break in Tenerife.

Arsenal and England midfielder Jack Wilshere has confirmed he has suffered another stress
fracture in is injured ankle, this time in his heel.
He had a scan after feeling pain in training last week and the midfielder revealed on Twitter
today:
"I can confirm I have a stress fracture but it is not in the same area as my first injury which
has healed very which I am happy about.
Arsenal have been hit with a huge blow after midfielder Jack Wilshere was ruled out for the entire
season after yet another injury setback The news also means that Wilshere is a major doubt for Euro
2012 which kicks-off in June with England boss Fabio Capello adamant that he will only be selecting
players who [.
Like a cross between Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Nicklas Bendtner, Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan is very
fond of his own abilities. There were questions as to whether he would play in Ghana's African Cup
of Nations match against Mali after sustaining an injury in training on Thursday, but he did start
and scored off a free kick in his side's 2-0 win.
Fabricio Coloccini doesn't make the game at Brighton this afternoon, and in comes James Perch to
partner Mike Williamson at the back. The Newcastle captain was a doubt with a groin strain, and
it's always better to go safety first with these types of injuries, and hopefully Fab will be fit
for the league game at Blackburn [.
We were told by Alan Pardew yesterday that Coloccini had taken a slight knock in training. Fabricio
Coloccini has a groin strain But now it seems that Fabricio has picked up what is thought to be a
slight groin strain. But Newcastle's captain is now thought to be a real a doubt for tomorrow's

"It only took nine years" was the cry from South-West London last summer, when AFC Wimbledon won
promotion back to the Football League after a dramatic penalty-shoot-out win as if there is any
other sort against Luton Town at The City of Manchester Stadium in the Blue Square Premier play-off
final.

If you're eight or ten or twelve and your dad's just recently started taking you to Craven
Cottage, you're probably loving life at the moment.
Most of us get into football because of the excitement of it, the hero worship, and the strange
thrill of seeing a small round thing manipulated so expertly.
Bad news comes for the USWNT as star defender Ali Krieger will be sidelined for 6-8 months with
tears in both her ACL and MCL. The injury occurred during the the first half the teams landslide
victory against the Dominican Republic. After taking a shot on goal, Krieger was kicked hard in the
knee when a DR player was trying to make a tackle.

A couple of days after Spanish site Sport.es reported that they had received exclusive mock-ups
of the fairly hideous designs for Barcelona's new kits for next season (above), designs which look
suspiciously like they may have been drawn up using the colour fade tool on Corel Draw 3.
Let's get this out of the way right at the beginning: Christian Sivebaek sees himself as a wide
midfielder. During our relatively brief conversation, the 6-foot-3, soon-to-be 24-year-old made
that point abundantly clear. Sivebaek said he could play on the right or on the left, but indicated
he's never played as a central midfielder and left little doubt that he felt his skills were being
wasted as a right back.
As we are all aware, Emmanuel Adebayor will be force to sit this one out but is it a simple case
of bringing in Jermain Defoe as a straight replacement. Could Harry accommodate Pavlyuchenko in a
4-4-2 or even play five across the midfield tomorrow.
The other issue surrounds club captain Ledley King who may be a bigger doubt for the game than
was suggested earlier in the week.
One advantage of Peter Ridsdale and Graham Westley being together as chairman and manager
respectively of Preston North End is that they may only end up annoying each other and messing
around with only one club. I recognise that will not have brightened the day of any Lilywhites
fans. And I can only apologise.

At the end of yesterday, Darlington FC remained alive albeit on life support. Today, however,
stories started to emerge which threaten to fragment an increasingly fractious fan-base as the
matter of this club's survival draws closer and closer to its denouement.
There have been words of encouragement and support funds and fury from many supporters that a
situation such as this should be allowed to happen to the same club yet again but, at the time of
writing, we are still nowhere near knowing whether the club will saved or, if it will, who by.
Episode 04: Wynalda is Even Crazier Than We Thought
On this special edition, I react to Eric Wynalda's free form comedy show at today's NSCAA
Convention in Kansas City. The details of which were brought to us via Twitter thanks to Jonathan
Tannenwald. More importantly, I'm joined by Sarah Wilson who was there in person for the entire
speech and offers her reactions.
This is a phrase describing the persuasive power of numbers, particularly the use of statistics
to bolster weak arguments.
It is also sometimes colloquially used to cast doubt upon statistics used to prove an opponent's
point.
The term was popularised in the United States by Mark Twain who attributed it to the
19th-century British Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli (1804–1881):
"There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics.
Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard admits he will be glad to see the end of a year which has seen him
sidelined with injuries for long periods.
Last season ended prematurely because of a groin problem in March which required surgery and his
comeback in the new campaign was delayed by an infection.
Wayne Rooney axed by Sir Alex Ferguson, Luis Suarez race-row details
revealed
Wayne Rooney was sensationally axed from Manchester United's squad for yesterday's Premier
League match against Blackburn after a bust-up with manager Sir Alex Ferguson that throws the
controversial striker's Old Trafford future into doubt.
Liverpool loanee Joe Cole has once again reiterated his desire to return to International
football.Cole, who is in the midst of a successful loan spell with Lille, enthused:"Without a
doubt, I'd love to play for England again."You can't talk yourself into the England squad though.
They come and watch you play, and if they like what they see, they'll pick you.
To be honest I never understood what all the fuss was about Dimitar Berbatov leaving Manchester
United on a Bosman at the end of the season. United has an option to extend his contract by
12-months as was there any doubt that they would not exercise it?
So it was not a surprise today when Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed today that Manchester United
will be exercising the option
"We'll be exercising (the option to renew]," said the United boss.
Liverpool's Steven Gerrard bids good riddance to injury-ravaged 2011
• 'I'll be glad to see the back of 2011′ • Latest absence had been 'absolute torture' The
Liverpool captain, Steven Gerrard, has admitted he will be glad to see the end of a year which has
seen him sidelined with injuries for long periods.
Despite their home defensive record the Swansea City fans are not at all confident about ths game.
Probably down to the fact that they have a bit of a defensive crisis with the Spurs loanee Caulker
(who in their words has been amazing for them) ineligible to play. On top of that Tate is out, Monk
has no match fitness, Taylor is a doubt and one fan reckons they are all feigning injury in an
attempt not to be played up against Bale.
3PM Extra: Georgie Thompson special!
It's an extra special 3pm Extra today in honour of the 8th wonder of the world, Georgie
Thompson. Sky Sports News' most glamourous girl is hanging up her delectably low cut top for the
last time tonight before disappearing into the murky world of Formula 1.
Why Bolton's troubles run deeper than Owen Coyle's management
Owen Coyle is facing major problems at Bolton – and if they go down it could put the whole
club's future in doubt. Why on earth is no-one talking about Bolton's £110million debt? People
watched Portsmouth unravel and they're fighting for their very existence.
Liverpool defender Daniel Agger insists his team-mates are focused on doing their best for the club
and not Luis Suarez's situation.
The Uruguay international has been hit with an eight-game ban for a misconduct charge along with a
£40,000 fine by the Football Association.
The Liverpool players showed their support for Suarez pre-match against Wigan by donning wearing
T-shirts featuring his image on the front and number on the back.
Dalglish fully behind Suarez
Kenny Dalglish has left nobody in any doubt that Liverpool are fully behind Luis Suarez after
reiterating his support for the striker.

By J Hutcherson - WASHINGTON, DC (Dec 21, 2011) US Soccer Players -- As we rush toward the UEFA
vision of Financial Fair Play along with various European leagues trying to figure out what might
make their leagues more competitive, one doubt continues to nag. Well, at least one doubt. How does
any of this change the marketing and sponsorship power of the elite European clubs?

The FA panel hearing the Luis Suarez-Patrice Evra racial abuse case is due to deliver its verdict
today, but what will it decide? Will Suarez be guilty or not guilty? As this site exclusively
revealed yesterday, panel-member Denis Smith has close ties to Man United manager Sir Alex
Ferguson, which (IMO) casts doubt upon the overall impartiality of the panel.
After a disappointing campaign in 2010-11, the season started on a more positive note for Niko
Kranjcar as he stepped into the breach when fellow Croatian Luka Modric endured an unsettled
August. The player's performance against Hearts even drew praise from manager Harry Redknapp,
"I thought Niko Kranjcar was outstanding in midfield," said Harry at the time.
Few stories floating round in the Twitter-verse that I thought I'd comment on in more depth.
Firstly, the guy over at Republik of Mancunia produced one of his periodic stats analyses, with the
goal, I presume, of showing that United have the worst injuries record in the prem. However, in his
analysis, he was forced to admit that we, in fact, have the worst injury record out of the top
English clubs.
