Two months after he was taken by the Revolution in the first stage of the Re-entry Draft, it
appears that left back Danleigh Borman won't be in Foxboro in 2012.
According to a report, the 27-year-old is close to returning to his native South Africa to play
for Pretoria-based SuperSport United.
It's beginning to feel like the Dynamo are fighting against the city they call home in order to
attract players to sign with the club. Houston is of course a great city, we all know that, but
there are clearly issues making it hard for the team to get players to sign on the dotted line and
play here.
Let's be honest here, and I have said it before, the whole situation with the transfer saga of Gary
Cahill has us all wondering what the hold up could be. I cannot remember Chelsea agreeing a fee
with a club and then literally taking weeks to conclude the terms with the player. It's a sign that
times are a changing at Chelsea, or have they already?

Spectacularly wind-assisted if may have been, but Everton's Tim Howard became the fourth 'keeper
in Premier League history to get his name on the scoresheet after punting home the opener against
Bolton at Goodison last night from 102, count 'em, 102 yards.
Rumour has it here, via Spanish Sports press, that FC BARCELONA has already put in a down-payment
of 10M€ for SANTOS youngster NEYMAR. The rumour has now turned into serious possibility when
the press asked Barça directive Tono Freixa, who in turn, did not say that it was not true. Messi

At this stage of the season and given how well the club has done since that awful start to the
season, the last news you would want to read is that we're going to be patient with the contract of
Robin Van Persie. This is our captain, our inspiration and quite literally has dragged us all the
way up the table.
I may not have been the first journalist to coin the term
"Silly Season" as it relates to soccer's global transfer market. But I'd like to think I help add
it to the current domestic soccer lexicon, making liberal use of the term as far back as five years
ago.
Either way, here we are.
According to today's Daily Mirror, Liverpool is still interested in Coventry City's talented
midfielder Connor Thomas.
When Thomas was sent to Liverpool on loan last January, it was the catalyst that causes a board
room struggle to come to a head and ended up with a change of chairman and vice chairman.
Will be training at Colney for a few more seasons now
If the team needed any lifting before their trip to Marseille, this should be it. The news of
Thomas Vermaelen penning an extension to his contract. Obviously, what transpired in the summer has
got a lot of fans worried that the situation might be replicated with those currently with 2 years
left on his contract.
Coloccini, like Jonas Gutierrez last Monday had only two years left on his contract. Fabricio
Coloccini - the popular Newcastle captain And of course Jonas has fixed that when he was offered
a two year extension and singed along the dotted line yesterday to the pleasant surprise of most
of us. But Coloccini will be 30 in January, and [.
What a difference a couple of weeks can make. Fifteen days ago, there was a tangible feeling of
gloom around Carrow Road as Norwich City lost by a single goal to a West Bromwich Albion team which
had hitherto hardly been setting the Premier League itself. This, we might have rationalise, was
exactly the sort of match that Paul Lambert's team needed to be winning if it is to have much of a
chance of keeping itself above the dotted line come the end of the season, and it was an
opportunity lost.

So Eddie's not coming, and the story is now less about whether or not he'd work for - or be wanted
by - an MLS team, and more about the PR mess the premature announcement of his signing has become.
Trust the league, that Eddie had all but signed on the dotted line and chose the eleventh hour to
back out, or believe Eddie and agent Richard Motzkin that there wasn't a firm deal and someone in
New York jumped the gun?

The 'desperate Dann' puns are writing themselves this morning, with the news (which is being
carried by nearly all of the major papers) that Arsenal are set to gazump Stoke City and Aston
Villa after opening talks with Birmingham over a £10 million move for Scott Dann, i.
There seems little doubt that 22 year-old Gabriel Obertan is delighted to have joined Newcastle
United today. Gabriel Obertan impressed with Pardew speech on Newcastle In his interviews since
signing along the dotted line today, what comes across with the French 22 year-old is a great
excitement, and whatever Alan told the lad about [.

After a couple of weeks of dilly-dallying, Liverpool agreed a fee and completed the signing of
Stewart Downing from Aston Villa all in the space of 24 hours yesterday with the winger passing a
medical and agreeing a 'long term' contract at Melwood, before officially sealing a deal believed
to be worth somewhere just shy of the £20-million mark.

As much as it had made the rounds in the transfer rumor mill over the last few months, it was of
surprise to no one when David de Gea officially signed on the dotted line last week to become
Manchester United's keeper of the present and future. With Edwin van der Sar hanging up his [...]

From Chelsea's official site:
"Andre was the outstanding candidate for the job. He is one of the most talented young managers
in football today and has already achieved much in a relatively short space of time."
And with that, the deed was done.

Days after seeing his two biggest allies (Amit Bhatia and Ishan Saksena) on the club's board
resign, the Daily Mirror are reporting that QPR manager Neil Warnock could be shunted from his post
in favour of recently-deposed Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti.
Newcastle will now turn to the transfer window and trying to secure key players already at the
club, to long term contracts. Kevin Nolan, Joey Barton and Jose Enrique will all be players
Newcastle want to sign along the dotted line soon, and that order of the names is indicative of how

An Ostend knees-up K.V. Oostende 1-3 Royal Antwerp (17:04:11) Details are still quite sketchy in my
own mind as to why I signed up for this: a day trip to Belgium via France to watch Ostend v Royal
Antwerp. But I suppose it's what I do, and whoever made me sign on the dotted line together with
forging my old man's signature on the parents consent form need not fear too much retribution.
There was some good news this morning that Joey Barton said he would be willing to pen a new deal
at Newcastle if Kevin Nolan signed along the dotted line too. It seems that Alan Pardew is keen to
get the good players currently at Newcastle all signed up, and although he lost Andy Carroll [...]

Are we the only ones who see Sergio in a 'pants half full' situation?

Just before close of play last night, Manchester City confirmed via their official club site
that Emmanuel Adebayor will become the latest of their £multi-million signings to be crammed
through the sky-blue meat grinder at Eastlands after announcing that the Togolese target man is now
on the brink of securing a loan move to striker-strapped Real Madrid.
