Brazilian sensation Leandro Damiao has revealed that he could follow Neymar's lead by opting to remain in South America.

Last week it was Clint Dempsey who celebrated after scoring two goals in Europa League play. This week it was Jozy Altidore's turn.

Altidore scored his fourth and fifth goals across all competitions this season in AZ Alkmaar's 6-0 victory over Aalesund in the second leg of their play-off round series.

The second leg of the playoffs to enter the group of the Europa League took place this afternoon across the continent, with several U.S. stars in action. Jozy Altidore's pair of goals helped AZ cruise past Aaselund, while Carlos Bocanegra's first goal in a Rangers uniform wasn't enough to put the Glasgow crew through.

With distance comes perspective, and from the very back of the Putney End the view was... well what was it? Despite my best efforts the game entirely passed me by. There they were, 22 men in white and sky blue, back and forth, up and down, then we all went home after an hour and a half of watching them run about.

Clint Dempsey's brace against Dnipro in the Europa Cup qualifiers has put Fulham in pole position to go through to the League format, following their3-0 win at Craven Cottage tonight.

Sure, Branislav Ivanovic has been outstanding as a fullback. Outstanding in the face of being forced into the position. Applaud the man. Still, no matter how much we love him (and trust me we do), his ability in the offensive third of the field has never been of elite quality.
