As the Serie A season enters the winter break, Lazio sit firmly in fourth position on 30 points
after an encouraging start to the season. They have only lost two games in the league (against
Juventus and, once high-flying, Genoa) and they have qualified from the Europa League group stages.
The additions made to the squad in the summer have been incredibly influential in helping carry the
squad.
Joint leaders atop Italian Serie A going into this weekend, managers Eddy Reja and Antonio Conte
both knew this was going to be a huge test of their scudetto potential. Juve's Andrea Pirlo passed
a last-minute fitness test to start, and the Olimpico audience welcomed back ex-Roma star Mirko
Vucinic just like old derby days.
Two title contenders will be squaring off this Saturday in Rome as Juventus travel to Lazio. The
two clubs are currently sitting at the top of the table with 22 points a side, and they are
arguably the two most in form clubs at the moment in Serie A. Coming into this match, Juventus are
the only unbeaten side in Italy with 6 wins and 4 draws.
Thursday evening sees Lazio continue their Europa League campaign in Portugal against Sporting
Lisbon. The Rome side will be anxious to get their European campaign back on track after a
disappointing draw at home to Romanian side FC Vaslui in their first outing, but will also be

extra two weeks because of the players non-strike, but it turned out to be a wait worthwhile. Lazio
traveled to the San Siro to face last season's champions, Milan, in the.
The 2010-11 season was filled with amazing highs and relative lows for Lazio fans. Le Aquile soared
to the top of the table early in the season and remained there for a month or so before toppling
under the immense pressure of a wonderful Milan side. They eventually slipped down to fifth, losing
out on Champions League.
Lazio, perhaps more than any other Italian side, have made some tremendously interesting moves in
the summer mercato. "Interesting," that is, because acquiring two strikers and swapping fullbacks
and potentially goalies is quite the gamble, a roll of the dice that could see the club challenge
for the top or fall apart into a mess of distraught egos and poor decisions.

Djibril Cisse has been pretty vocal about both his experiences in Greece and wanting to leave
Greece, for reasons which are entirely understandable.
Now they're even using his photo for rather horrible stories on Greek football which involve
neither Djibril himself, nor his team.
