This is a move the Houston Dynamo needed to make. Alex Dixon was buried deep beneath the absolute mountain of midfield talent acquired over the last couple of seasons, and it was most likely stunting his growth as a player. In his time with the Dynamo Alex Dixon has notched four regular season MLS matches.
Cam Weaver scored a late winner in Frisco on Tuesday evening to give the Houston Dynamo reserves
a 1-0 victory over FC Dallas. The victory moves the reserve side to 3-0 in 2012 and earned them
their third consecutive shutout.
Here's the official match report from the Dynamo:

road win over FC Dallas Reserves

FRISCO, Texas (Tuesday, April 10, 2011) – The Houston Dynamo Reserves remained perfect in the
MLS Reserve League with a 1-0 win over the FC Dallas Reserves on Tuesday night.
The Swope Park Rangers suffered their first loss of the season today at Swope Park, as the reserves
gave up 3 second half goals, falling to the Houston Dynamo 3-0. The first half was interrupted by
lightning. In the second half, in a 21 minute stretch, Cam Weaver, Alex Dixon, and Colin Rolfe all
scored for Houston to give them the win over the Rangers.
The winning just continues this week, as the Houston Dynamo Reserves took out the Colorado
Rapids' reserves 1-0 this morning over at Houston Amateur Sports Park.
Continuing the theme of winning late, winning often, Bryan Ownby had a nice strike for the
game's only goal in 80th minute.
"On the road again, just can't wait to get on the road again." -Willie Nelson
Something tells me the Houston Dynamo have not been singing the Willie Nelson classic this year.
That said, the Dynamo are right in the thick of the playoff chase and if there was ever a game rip
for the taking, it's this weekend's match against the Vancouver Whitecaps.
It's been a tough season for the Houston Dynamo. Inconsistent results, the Koke mess, there's
been plenty of reasons this team could have closed up shop and looked ahead to 2012. Instead the
Dynamo have continued to fight and claw and while they are far from perfect, you get the feeling
that things are starting to come together at just the right time.
RSL has never won at Houston's Robertson Stadium, and on Saturday the Western Conference club
found a new, more painful way to drop points against the Dynamo as rookie Alex Dixon netted a
stoppage-time game-winning goal to give Houston a 3-2 victory.

After battling back from a goal down twice, the Houston Dynamo ripped victory away from Real
Salt thanks to a tremendous individual effort from rookie Alex Dixon. After Brad Davis' pass in to
the box was headed out, Dixon dribbled past two RSL defenders and found enough space to launch a
shot that beat Nick Rimando to the far post, giving Houston a HUGE 3-2 victory.
I may have jumped the gun a bit yesterday by having a go at Roy Hodgson for not including the young Arsenal right back, Carl Jenkinson, in his England squad to face Sweden in a friendly next week. His name was not included in the squad list released by the FA, but will be included, apparently, as long as he finally receives his clearance from FIFA, Hodgson explained.
With a lot of recent rumours linking Arsenal to full backs such as
Andreas Beck of Hoffenheim and Porto's Alvaro Pereira, maybe Arsene Wenger might be on the lookout
for another defender. But is he in for a LB or RB, Pereira is more left sided whilst Beck can play
both.
"A good ball by Dixon finding Smith onto Thomas charging through the midfield, Thomas it's up
for grabs now. Thomas , right at the end. An unbelievable end to the season." Â My favourite goal
of all time, probably every Arsenal fans favourite goal. There have been plenty  more beautiful
(TH v MU 2000) but certainly none more dramatic.
Chris Samba can solve Arsenal's dodgy defending and emerge as a lionheart leader in the same
mould as Gunners legend Tony Adams. Emirates boss Arsene Wenger is in desperate need of a
no-nonsense central defender and has been linked with a £10million move for the Blackburn Rovers
stopper.
And Arsenal legend Lee Dixon believes the giant Congo international, 27, fits the bill perfectly
to fill a void in the heart of his back four.
First Colin Clark (3 match ban), then Adam Moffat (1 match ban), now Brad Davis. The Left Footed
Beckham is questionable for Sunday's match against the Chicago Fire with a calf injury and will
undergo an MRI today. That's never something we like to hear about any of our players, but
especially about our midfield maestro.
In a battle of the reserves of the MLS Eastern Division's top two teams, the winner came up all
Orange today. The Dynamo Reserves beat the Plastic Sporks in KC 3-0 at the Sporting Club Training
Center in Swope Park, and the hero of the day was none other than that guy to the left right there,
Alex Dixon.
Council for Officer Raymond Perez filed suit today in the Harris County District Court, claiming
negligence and assault in connection with the scuffle at the Roosevelt Room back in early February.
Tyler Deric, Warren Creavalle, Alex Dixon, Will Bruin and the Dynamo organization were named in the
suit, which is demanding compensation for a laundry list of perceived damages.
Right back at you Men. Now let's go get that kumbaya moment in Chester, Pa. and back here at
Robertson next week.
Oh, and while I do seem to have the floor here. The Worldwide Leader put out their Top 10 MLS
Goals of the season this past weekend from all games except the Dynamo win from Sunday night.
Here are the final numbers from the Players Union for base salaries and guaranteed compensation.
I don't know about you, but there sure seems to be some wasted money on this list. For example, the
Dynamo are paying Carlo Costly nearly a half million in reported pay (there could be more
allocation money involved) and all we've gotten is a red card.
It was just a year ago that Dynamo were the victims of some serious late-game killers, giving up
no less that four dramatic last-minue goals to lose games. This season this has happened to us very
few times, if at all. (Either it actually hasn't or my mind has blocked it out.)
In any event, Dynamo just posted this video of seven times the late dramatics have gone our way
this season, the capper being Alex Dixon's golazo this past weekend.

In 2010, MLS began opening up the doors for clubs to sign Home Grown Players. Several clubs like
FC Dallas, Chivas USA, Toronto FC and DC United all had plenty to offer in terms of young talent
that they signed. More clubs followed suit and then the league blew open the doors to allow any
number of HGP signings.
Just a quick link for everyone. The official Goal of the Week page is up and, as we all knew it
should be, Alex Dixon's golaso is up for Goal of the Week. Follow this link here to vote for
Atascocita's finest.
And, just to sweeten the pot for you, among the contenders is a certain Ghanian who shall not be
named, some Irish fella and a pair of players to be named later.
Arsenal legend Lee Dixon has admitted he has enjoyed watching the forces of evil ply their trade
in the Premier League this season. The team that dare not speak its name are currently ten points
ahead of the Arsenal in the table and are still in the FA Cup but, of course, that'll all change
this afternoon when minnows Stevenage beat them (you read it here first).
THFC1882 presents guest writer Ralph Dixon's match report:
Chickens 1 2 Cockerels
The previews for this match, the chat on Twitter and the fan forums were all spot on and the
match hardly needs a report from me at all. You Spurs fans know it in your hearts already, even if
MOTD manage to edit their highlights to give a different impression.
The period from 1996/7 to 2010/11 has been magical for us Arsenal supporters. We've been
fortunate enough to have seen an English club play Wengerball.
Never in our 125 year history have Arsenal supporters been able to watch such exquisite football
played by such a World class assembly of players.

A.On Facebook, Fox Soccer just asked "What EPL stadium would you most like to visit?" My answer,
Craven Cottage of course. A sampling of some other answers:
1. Ibrox
2. Wembley Stadium
3. Estadio De Luz
Granted, Facebook is not my go to source for soccer knowledge, but come on people!
There have been many times when I have blasted ex-Arsenal players, that have become TV and
newspaper pundits, who continue to knock Arsenal when we are down.
These 'experts' claim to love the club yet jump on a bandwagon that has gained more pace than Frank
Lampard chasing an ice-cream van down a hill.
Frank Lampard took time out last night to feature on Chelsea TV's Friday Night Live with Jason
Cundy and Kerry Dixon and spoke of the manager, his form and the way we are playing at the moment.
Here are two short clips from his live TV appearance.

Frank loves scoring against Bolton, silences his critics for at least one day, and gives Studge
the credit he deserves. Lampard also became Chelsea's fifth highest goal-scorer with his third
today. 119 goals in 350 matches, surpassing George Mills and getting ever closer to beating Kerry
Dixon to become our second highest goalscorer in all competitions.
Ideally sports provide us with an escape from our day to day lives, a chance to see friends,
support our team and have fun. Every once in awhile, sports can give us a moment that sticks with
us and we can look back to year and year and say, wow, that was a really great moment.
I remember a number of moments like that from my childhood.
