Let me list the reasons I hate Arjen Robben with the burning fire of one thousand imploding
suns...
1) He doesn't run, he gingerly minces.
2) He, and you may have noticed this yourselves, feigns career-ending injuries quite regularly only
to get up when it suits and keep on gingerly mincing.
Sone Aluko got banned for diving.
Garry O'Connor got away with diving.
Ergo the new disciplinary procedures in place at the SFA are ridiculous and hellbent on making a
mockery of the Scottish game. At best.
At worst the new procedures have been all but designed to penalise one team above others.
Real Madrid defender Marcelo received a deserved second yellow card for
simulation in Real Madrid's 1-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb in tonights Champions League opener
in Zagreb.
Spain, currently not the best team in the world according to the FIFA World Ranking but probably
the best team according to anyone who has been watching world football for the past three years,
were embroiled in a post-match bust-up with Chile after a friendly on Friday. Replays conclusively
show that Spain's winning penalty should not have been awarded, and the subsequent brawl the ensued
came on the same day as the FIFA fair play campaign.

The final of the 2010 World Cup. Your country has never won the tournament despite being
universally acclaimed for a football philosophy that has developed over the course of time. Your
side has knocked out heavy favorites Brazil in the quarters, and survived an absolute battle
against Uruguay to make it to the final, and now you find yourself in a match that has been
hard-fought to say the very least.
The Newcastle midfielder Joey Barton managed to get the Arsenal new-boy Gervinho sent off after
going to ground like he'd been hit by a train, but thinks that the Frenchman should have got sent
off for diving anyway. He said on his Twitter page last night: "I went down easy, no doubt. Still,
you can't [.
Football legend Maradona is now coaching Al Wasl in Dubai and the club has released video from
recent training sessions with Maradona. If you watch closely, you can see Maradona is still up to
his old tricks.

PhillySoccerPage: What do you see as the most important thing for your team coming out
for the second half of the season?
Steve Guppy: Well, we're kind of hoping that everyone can stay fit. It seems that with the group
we have we've suffered more than our share of injuries, with a lot of key players being out
injured.
Get up you big, girl The medical journal Research in Sports Medicine recently published a study
that finds women footballers are about half as likely to fake an injury than their male
counterparts. The journal's researchers drew their conclusions from watching a representative
sample of match videos, counting injuries from games, observing how long players [.
Jon Busch was having quite a game. The San Jose keeper had made a few really good saves and
the 'Quakes were hanging on at home against Real Salt Lake. Despite being outplayed, it looked
like the home team could grab a point from the match to help their playoff run. Then in the 61st
minute Alvaro Saborio was played through with a great pass and made a move to avoid the San Jose
defenders.
Man of the Match?
For shame, United "fans." For shame.
Embellishment? Selling it? Unrepentant.
I, for one, am not buying, and not solely as a card-carrying member of the Fullbacks Union.
For shame.
I watched quite a bit of soccer over Father's Day weekend and was pleased to see the two teams I
follow most closely get results. Sadly however, I'm left with a sour taste in my mouth and very
little time to do full reaction posts. Instead, I'll slam a couple together and bind them with the
one central theme that dominated the two most important matches (to me, anyway).
- Ethan Gomberg SANDY, UT – A night of counter attacks and penalty kicks, probably overshadowed
by DC United forward Charlie Davies and a controversial decision, ended in Utah tonight 1-1. The
announced attendance of 16, 841 were on hand for important match for both teams. The match began as
a rather tense affair with DC United, surprisingly, with more of the chances.
E:60 spot on the keeper who doesn't like to keep 'em.
- Not rollin'. (Left Back In The Changing Room)
- The other part of Venice. (EFW)
- Qatar beat them at their own currency. (Dirty Tackle)
- Ronaldo scores. You knew that. (La Liga Loca)
- Barca spends money.

Though I didn't see the whole match, I did catch the highlights and I saw the dive. No, not that
one from Sergio Busquets. Or that one from Angel Di Maria. Or THAT one from Javier Mascherano. No,
the match I'm talking about was Manchester United's trip to Newcastle a while back that finished
0-0.
The haters and the non-coverted point to the flopping, the complaining, the asking for cards as THE
indictment of soccer. "I just can't stand all the faking!" they scream. "How can this be a real
sport when its based on conning the referee?" they question to the heavens.
News flash... we hate it, too.
If you often heard or read the word "diving" in soccer, it means a player
easily falling after being slightly touched by another player during a football game.
Cheating players do it to get a chance to score through a penalty or freekick. Others do it so
referees can hand a yellow or red card to the other player.
Ten days ago Theo Walcott made the unusual decision to admit to diving to try and win a penalty,
mass debate ensued about whether he did the right thing and was honest, or stupid for blackening
his own name with fans fearing the next time he was toppled in the area he wouldn't get the [...]
Kenny Dalglish was furious after referee Howard Webb gave Manchester United a
soft Penalty after Liverpool defender clipped Dimitar Berbatov. The incident had Dalglish claiming
the game had changed into a non contact sport. Well Kenny in case you've missed it Liverpool have
being diving since diving was invented.
Arsenal 1-1 Leeds United
Cracking cup tie this. I couldn't make the game yesterday so watched it on HyundaITV while
following the mood on Twitter. There was a fair bit of chiding for various facets of Arsenal's
display but Leeds played very well indeed, let's not forget.
