Several Union players talk about preseason training at YSC SPorts last week. The team landed in
Orlando on Sunday.
Danny Califf, acknowledging that only he and Brian Carroll are the only players remaining on the
Union who are older than 27, tells MLSsoccer.
On the eve of one of the more important matches of the season for Real Madrid, manager Jose
Mourinho is making headlines again for all the wrong reasons.
According to reports out of Spain, Mourinho is letting it be known that he wants out of Madrid
at the end of this season, which would be two years into his four-year contract with the club.
According to the laws of the game, shouldn't Robin Van Persie have been sent off against
Manchester United in Arsenal's 2-1 loss on Sunday? I know when it comes to yellow and red cards
it's often pretty hard to keep track of all of football's strange rules. But it's widely believed
that an automatic yellow card is to be shown to any player who lifts his team shirt to reveal a
printed message on a tee-shirt below.
Unfair on Arshavin, Unfair on Arsenal FC (By S.H) The home stadium erupted in loud BOOS in protest
over Wenger‘s decision to substitute Oxlade-Chamberlain for Andrey Arshavin. Even Robin van
Persie appeared to show his dissent over the manager's decision. The Ox had played a marvellous
game, and I too, was disappointed to see him [.
mansub by arsenalist Having just benefited from an assist by the Alex Oxlade Chamberlain, Robin Van
Persie joined thousands of Arsenal fans in a show of dissent when Arsene Wenger replaced the young
Englishman with Andrey Arshavin. Oxlade Chamberlain had looked lively and had been the only Arsenal
attacker who looked like causing the Manchester [.
On this week's show we feature the phrase 'to be booked for dissent'

In their first game against a team not named Illinois Piasa, the Magic found themselves in another
shootout, this time against the Detroit Waza and former Kansas City Comets MF Miki Djerisilo, a
familiar face to long-time Kansas City indoor soccer fans.
442 fans at Epic Indoor Sports watched as the 2 teams contually fouled each other.
Depressingly, few of us who work at the University of California were surprised by the fact
thatdemonstrating students would be treated with such violence. A squad ofcolleagues affirmed that
it was business as usual when they stood passive whileOfficer Pike calmly went about his task. UC
Davis's Chancellor and its PoliceChief both reacted as if this were an unpleasant routine, until it
became anews item.
Despite the ubiquity of mobile phone cameras, there doesn't seem to be an equal growth in the
number of mediums who know when to flick on the record button as something big is going to happen
in the next five seconds.
No medium was apparently on hand for a Scottish Cup match which has landed one angry soul a
fourteen game suspension.
Kemsley and Pinton Broker Their DealI hate Hollywood endings. Like many sports fans, I
structure my life with the seasons of my teams, the failure of another trophy-less year the painful
reminder of all I hoped to accomplish within the same time span but haven't yet wrapped up. The
playoff loss to LA was all the more painful as it seemed to play out to someone else's script.
'Slave' Kuszczak has made his last United blunder by crossing Fergie
You would think that after all the reminiscing about Sir Alex Ferguson's 25 years, Tomasz
Kuszczak would have realised the golden rule at Old Trafford. No-one crosses Fergie. Paul Ince,
Jaap Stam, David Beckham, Gabriel Heinze, Ruud van Nistelrooy even Roy Keane in the end made that
mistake.
It's the second Scandal to hit Iranian football inside a week, a referee officiating a third
tier match hand's out a second yellow card to Chooka Talesh striker for dissent only to see the
card ripped out of his hand before getting a savage beating from player's coaches an fans alike.
Disgraceful stuff!
Former Liverpool defender Gary Gillespie has added his voice to the growing chorus of dissent over
Liverpool's stuttering performance against Swansea at the weekend, and believes that the lack of
fluency in midfield played a big part in the team's inability to take charge of the game.
Gillespie, who was analysing the game for LFC TV, described the result as a 'massive
disappointment', but was quick to praise the performances put in my Swansea's players:
"Lucas Leiva found it very difficult today, as did Charlie Adam, because they got outnumbered in
the middle of the park.

In which, during an Iranian lower league tie between Chooka Talesh and Shahrdari Dezfool, the
referee in charge administers a second yellow card to Chooka's striker for dissent (we think) only
to have the card torn from his hand, thrown back in his face and have all holy hell let loose.
Former Liverpool striker Stan Collymore has attacked a small section of the club's fans fans for
showing 'open dissent' towards manager Kenny Dalglish after the Swansea game at the weekend.
Fans were reportedly booing at Anfield on Saturday after Liverpool were played off the park, and
during Collymore's radio show on that night, there were a few very irate fans (Liverpudlians, it
should be added), who were vehemently castigating Dalglish for his perceived failings.
Suarez Hits Back
Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has hit back at Patrice Evra's claims that he racially abused the
French defender during Saturday 1-1 draw at Anfield. The FA has confirmed that they will
investigate the allegations further, Evra was quoted as saying that Suarez had insulted him in a
attempt to wind him up.
Manchester United captain Patrice Evra has accused Liverpool striker Luis Suarez of racially
abusing him during the 1-1 Premier League draw at Anfield on Saturday.
The France international told French television after the game that Suarez used the same insult
"more than 10 times" throughout the match.
Luis Suárez 'categorically denies' using racial abuse, Liverpool insist
• Anfield spokesman says player was questioned by club • Patrice Evra has complained in past
of racist taunts Luis Suárez has been accused of racially abusing Patrice Evra in the north-west
derby between Liverpool and Manchester United at Anfield.
Former England international Terry Butcher believes Wayne Rooney should expect to face a lengthy
ban after being sent off in England's 2-2 draw with Montenegro.
While England secured their place in Euro 2012 with the draw, the game was marred by Rooney's
petulant kick at Miodrag Dzudovic which earned him an automatic one match ban that rules him out of
the start of England's tournament next year, while UEFA may decide to extend the ban at a hearing
on Thursday to anything up to three games.
He's come a long way since he joined the ranks of Newcastle United as a £10.3M Centre Back under
the control of Kevin Keegan. It's probably debateable whether Keegan even wanted him in, but I
don't remember there being too much dissent when he transferred. We all knew of him through his
days playing for [.
Saved by the cameras Blackburn Rovers v Manchester City by fantasmac In the wake of the Carlos
Tevez saga and Edin Dzeko's display of dissent, BBC commentator Jonathan Pearce highlights just how
far Manchester City's other strikers are prepared to go in order to avoid causing further
discomfort to manager Roberto Mancini.

With seventeen minutes left in the France/USA semi-final, Eurosport analyst Emma Hayes was asked
if the game, already a classic, was going to extra-time. "We're going to extra-time," she declared,
"unless someone puts a good ball in and Abby (Wambach, USA's combative centre-forward) gets on the
end of it.
It's tough to sift through 122-plus minutes of a match filled with so much action, excitement
and intrigue and distill it down to a few details. But here are the five major events from
today's match that shaped the outcome of the game.
-Brazil's Early Miscue
The United States jumped out to an early lead thanks to a flub by Brazil just 74 seconds into
the game.
A jubilant Wambach celebrates her goal as the US live to finally win
Even the most cursory of followers would not have failed to be gripped by the epic unfolding
yesterday. As the end of extra time approached the USA was in mortal danger of failing to advance
past the quarterfinals for the first time leaving Brazil with their first taste of victory in the
World Cup over their rivals.
Taunting, swearing, tripping, punching, tackling, shirt-tugging, shirt removal, dissent...d**k
ring?! It appears a new item has entered the lexicon of bookable offences after an Australian
player in Melbourne was sent off for a rather intimate piercing.
Aaron Eccleston, captain of Old Hill Wanderers, was struck in the groin during a match against
Swinburne University reserves causing him to fall to the ground in agony.
1. Bob Bradley will field the exact same lineup that he sent out against Canada. What's more,
two of his three subs will be the same Edu and Wondolowski. The one change is that Eric
Lichaj will get a run at left back in the second half.
Correct on the lineup, incorrect on the subs.

The headline I went with when Martin O'Neill walked out on Aston Villa was something along the
lines of "They think he's taken us as far as he can... he has now". It was a reference to the
persistent theme among the growing dissent that our club was stagnating under his stewardship and
also the fact that the record would forever confirm that that would indeed be as far as he could
take the club.

The Portland Timbers are undefeated at home in MLS play no more.
DC United got goals from Perry Kitchen, Chris Pontius and Josh Wolff, overcoming two linesman
calls that awarded an additional two penalty kick opportunities and resulted in a Timbers goal to
walk out of Jeld-Wen Field with a hard-earned 3-2 victory.

Your dreams are china in your hand.......................
‘Don't push too far your dreams are china in your hand'. The lyrics of this well-known, and
somewhat tacky song by T'pau in 1987, came to my mind when I read recent comments regarding Arsène
Wenger's position on a variety of Arsenal websites.
I'm moving at match speed today; I have to get on the road to Houston to catch the spiraling
Rapids and the soaring Dynamo on the University of Houston campus. It's mostly a chance to see Will
Bruin perform the Dancing Bear in person. It's all the rage – or maybe you've heard.
En route, I'm sure I'll stop here.

Tony Tchani's first goal for his new team also got him sent off with a second yellow. His
dismissal helped the Columbus Crew take a point on the road in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Tchani's
side, Toronto FC.
The second-year midfielder guided in a long ball from teammate Julian de Guzman in the 41st
minute.
Rio Ferdinand has compared the attitude of Manchester City players to that of Manchester
United's ahead of the semi-final clash this weekend.
During City's 3-0 thrashing at Anfield this week, James Milner, who has done little to justify
the £26 million which was paid for him, was visibly annoyed at being subbed off.
I've waited until now to discuss the takeover story to give myself a little time to digest the
news, and analyse what it realistically means for Arsenal Football Club. It is very easy to jump to
snap judgements on whether it is a positive or negative thing, and as usual there are many shades
of grey.
