A World Cup Dream.

You may have heard about U.S. U-17 and U-20 WNT goalkeeper Bryane Heaberlin and the work she has done to help the Haitian U-17 Women's National Team, work inspired by the USA's meeting with Haiti during World Cup qualifying earlier this year. You may also have seen the story of the Haitian team on ESPN's E:60.

Personally I love them. The Carolina Challenge Cup, the PanPacific Championship, the Disney World Pro Soccer Classic, even La Manga with the Sounders!

In fact one of the things I love about Major League Baseball is the annual tradition of Spring Training. It would be nice to see MLS develop a history and tradition with these affairs.

Anyone that has ever run a business, or had the responsibility of managing large sums of money, will tell you that at many points of these roles you will be deemed as unpopular. This is because you have to make horrible decisions that effect many people, and generally these people will not like them.

I truly appreciate TFC streaming video of the Disney World Pro Soccer Classic. The long winter would seem that much longer if these preseason games were not on my computer screen.
However it is difficult to form much in the way of observations from two evenings spent squinting at a group of little red guys playing on a green field.

Did the boys stay up too late on the rides at Disney World? Dizzy from the Tea Cups? At least those reasons wouldn't fill TFC supporters with the dread many of them are feeling at the moment. Yes, yes, we know, "it's only pre-season blah, blah, blah" and while that is true, it doesn't excuse all faults.

Finally, Little Chaddy Barrett can stop calling Uncle Mo in the middle of the night asking "when are we getting to Disney World?" TFC said their goodbyes to cosmopolitan Bradenton, Florida yesterday and travelled the Interstate to Orlando for the next phase of training camp which includes the Walt Disney World Pro Soccer Classic (the WDWPSC to its friends) tournament later this month.

The Boston Celtics are playing the Orlando Magic on Christmas. Celtics forward Paul Pierce is making good use of his time in Orlando by taking his daughter to Disney World. Here are the picture of Paul Pierce and his daughter having a blast in the happiest place on earth.
