David Beckham's reent ejection from a youth soccer game has been receiving a lot of attention in
the press. To hear Becks describe it, he quite rightly protested a referee ejecting a 7-year old
from a youth soccer game and the ref kicked him out of the park as a result.
If Beckham's telling is accurate, it seems the ref overreacted twice and this is all much ado
about nothing.

Eager to minimise the potential damage caused to England's Euro 2012 campaign by the loss of
Wayne Rooney, The FA have put together a dossier of mitigation to be sent to UEFA.
The FA bigwigs are hoping that Europe's football governing body will give their star striker a
minimum one-match ban after the United hot-head booted Miodrag Dzudovic in the leg last week, and
not dish out a two or even three match punishment.
Tottenham Hotspur desperately need a player like Emmanuel Adebayor. His strength, pace and
goalscoring ability on the ground and in the air will if all goes smoothly become the long sought
after focal point for our attacking play. No one who was at the Lane to witness his exquisite
volley in the 3-1 defeat by our neighbours will need to be convinced it's seared in my brain,
probably forever, which can't be said for many of the goals we've scored since then.

The Brotherly Game's managing editor Scott Kessler attended the Kyle

happened at the event.
The sweltering heat was evident even at 6:50 pm, when I got out of the 12th/13th and Locust

Hello and happy Monday to you all.
Amazingly the Mugsmashers did us a big favour yesterday by beating United, meaning the
disappointment of not beating Sunderland is offset a bit by the fact we've made a net gain in terms
of points. Of course you can choose to be even more disappointed that by not beating them we're not
even closer to United but there you go.
Funny how time passes sometimes... Had Lyon's calendar been different, the resounding win last
weekend against their worst enemy, Saint-Etienne (1-4), would have lifted the club for weeks; but
due to the incoming hurdle in CL next week (who said wall ?), this win was quickly set aside to
concentrate on José's Jazz Band coming to Lyon.
Camp Cupcake is over. What ever are we doing to do? Talk about the match against Chile, for one.
That's the main dish in this meal, being served-up by myself and co-host Christopher Riordan on
this edition of the Major League Soccer Talk podcast. The U.S. drew Chile 1-1 at Home Depot, a
series of new or fresh faces go playing time, but what's it all mean?
