By now all Manchester United fans would have known that we've agreed to sell Mame Biram Diouf to
Hannover 96. The question, I'm pondering over is Why? Diouf was signed from Molde FK in July 2009,
and after a 30-month stay in English football, he's moving to Germany. I find his transfer really
weird! During all this time, he has played lot of football, he has gained valuable experience and
made
Reports this morning suggested that Mame Biram Diouf has agreed a loan move to Hannover,
however, more recently, claims have been made that he has signed a two and a half.
German site, Kicker, claims he passed his medical this morning and is ready for a permanent move
for around £1.5m. Hannover are currently 7th in the league, 10 points behind Bayern Munich, having
scored just 21 goals in 19 games.
Mame Biram Diouf has claimed that Wigan are amongst several clubs who are interested in signing
him on loan this January.
After an average loan spell at Blackburn last season, scoring 6 goals in 29 games, including a
hattrick against Norwich in the League Cup and a goal against Arsenal, he is hoping to end the
season well so he can get in United's team next year.
Dimitar Berbatov was the Premier League's top scorer seven months ago and lifted a record
breaking 19th title with Manchester United. He has been fourth choice striker at the club this
season though, behind Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez.
The club tried to sell the striker in the summer following his omission from the Champions
League final squad but the player wasn't having any of it, determined to stay on our books and
fight for his place and has behaved admirably since.
The 2012 African Cup Of Nations is set to begin on the 21st of January until the 12th of
February, so we thought with not long to go it may be worthwhile figuring out which teams are going
to be most affected by players departing for this competition.
Players Involved In The African Cup Of Nations
Starting with the teams at the top end of the Premier League, Biram Diouf of Senegal appears to
be the only Manchester United player affected which isn't likely to affect the club much at all as
he is probably their 6th choice striker.
Rio Ferdinand, Danny Welbeck, Nani, Phil Jones, Jonny Evans, Michael Carrick, Michael Owen,
Darron Gibson and Mame Biram Diouf visited the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital.
Wayne Rooney, Park Ji-Sung, Patrice Evra and Tom Cleverley went to The Christie.

Dimitar Berbatov has been ruled out of Manchester United's massive Champions League trip to
Basle leaving Sir Alex Ferguson with limited options up front.
After Javier Hernandez suffered an ankle injury at Aston Villa on Saturday that is set to rule
him out for a month, Ferguson expressed the hope Berbatov would have recovered from his own ankle
problem to make the flight to Switzerland.

Overtime was needed in both of Sunday's quarterfinals as unseeded Charlotte shocked No. 3 UConn
and No. 2 Creighton overcame a hearty challenge from No. 7 South Florida.
Charlotte came from behind late in the game to knot the score at 1-1 and force a penalty kick
shootout against the Huskies before advancing courtesy of a 4-2 victory.
Following Manchester United's Carling Cup exit against Crystal Palace last night, OTP looks at five
players on display night who are treading a tightrope if they want to continue their careers at Old

Manchester-Sunderland service during the summer.

Manchester United will continue their policy of fielding a youthful side in the Carling Cup when
they take on Crystal Palace in this week's quarter-final tie. Sir Alex Ferguson revealed he would
be making wholesale changes from the side that were held to a draw at home to Newcastle at the
weekend, with the majority of senior players expected to be rested once again.
To celebrate Sir Alex Ferguson's 25th year in charge of Manchester United, he has named a
youthful lineup for today's match against Sunderland. Wayne Rooney finds himself starting in the
heart of the Premier League champions' midfield for a second straight match, partnering enforcer
Darren Fletcher.

If you could choose one moment that best encapsulates the raw talent of Ravel Morrison, you'd go
back a fortnight to a Manchester Senior Cup game against Bolton's Reserves. 93 minutes had passed
on what was nothing more than a dour encounter and, with the score at 0-0, Morrison had shifted
responsibility upon himself to put things right.

A bit of what's going on in Butt's Brain after a shocking weekend in the Premier League... Berbatov

After a stellar performance with Manchester United last season, life has become very hard for
Dimitar Berbatov after his fall out with club coach Sir Alex Ferguson. However, with injuries to
key players Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez, Sir Alex will have no option but to start the 30
year old.

Before kick off, there was panic. The team selection was baffling; for such an intense rivalry,
this wasn't the way to go. Fans wanted to see a side strong enough to avenge Leeds United on their
1-0 FA Cup victory the last time these two sides met – rather than a makeshift one. As it
happened, it barely mattered that United had players out of position or lined up in a lopsided
formation.

Dimitar Berbatov was left out of Manchester United's starting line-up again, much to the
surprise of many fans who had been expecting the Bulgarian to make a return after barely getting on
the pitch this season.
Sit Alex Ferguson still insists that the striker has a future at the club, although this is
becoming more and more difficult to believe.

Now the international break is over, the games start coming thick and fast as Manchester United
have additional Champions League and Carling Cup commitments.
Sir Alex Ferguson knows how best to utilise his squad and will reward those who have patiently
watched the Reds rack up three consecutive victories in the Barclays Premier League.

The three-day weekend is over and the scene in college soccer is a little different after a few
big games over the weekend rearranged the top of the rankings. For the second weekend in a row big
crowds came together at a few college venues to watch some top programs take on one another.
On Thursday, IMS obtained a copy of Montreal Impact's Mignane Diouf arrest report from the
Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport Police Department. I also talked with Patrick Hogan, a
spokesperson for the airport. IMS was able to glean a few more bits of information from those two
sources concerning the incident on Sunday where Diouf was arrested [.
The Montreal Impact released a statement this afternoon confirming that forward Mignane Diouf was
detained Sunday, at the Minneapolis-St.Paul international airport, prior to the team's return to
Montreal. According to the press release, "Diouf was arrested for allegedly shoplifting. The club
has hired counsel to provide legal representation for the player.
A contrasting issues apparently being faced by Machester United' coach, Sir Alex Ferguson, as he
is now facing a dilemma in choosing the attacking partnership up front especially after the fine
performances of young guns such as Danny Wellbeck in the last few games.

summer and simply adding the full packed rosters of forwards with Wayne Rooney, Michael Owen,
Javier "Chicarito" Hernandez and Dimitar Berbatov.
As one of his strongest fans since the time he was at White Hart Lane, it's not easy to ask the
following question but "Does Sir Alex Ferguson still need Dimitar Berbatov at Old...

The Montreal Impact aren't done yet.
After being absolutely atrocious in the first few months of the season, the Impact is back in
the chase for the playoffs, and keeping pace with FC Edmonton.
FC Edmonton had the good fortune of a Sunday fixture with Atlanta, which the Canadians won
3-0.
Months of frustrating uncertainty may finally be coming to an end for Darren Fletcher as he got one
step closer to a first team return with a strong 90 minute display in the reserves at Arsenal

Ahead of today's highly anticipated Community Shield clash against Manchester City, Man United
manager Sir Alex Ferguson insists that he's happy with his deep pool of first team strikers. The
defending Premier League champions have an overcrowded front line, with seven players vying for
spots in the first team.
For the second consecutive game, Manchester United tore an MLS team apart in the second half to
run out comfortable winners.
Last week United scored four goals in the second half to beat the New England Revolution 4-1 and
last night they scored six (yes 6!) second half goals to beat the Seattle Sounders 7-0.

Mame Biram Diouf has been strongly linked with a move away from the club, with Blackpool and
Blackburn apparently interested in signing him on a permanent basis.
Diouf joined the club 18 months ago but has spent a whole season on loan at Blackburn, with his
highlights including a hattrick against Norwich in the League Cup and scoring against Arsenal in
his first start for the club.

the world soccer scene known with a demolition of the hosting Seattle Sounders ending at 7-0 in
front of 67,052 attendees.
Despite only being on the field for 45 minutes, Wayne Rooney showed just why he is considered
one of the premier strikers in the world, notching a hat trick and giving the Sounders back line a
torrid night.

Don't look now, but the Atlanta Silverbacks are starting to string together some results.
Atlanta and fellow bottom-dweller Montreal Impact battled to a 2-2 draw in Canada on Sunday. It
was the first time in 2011 the Atlanta Silverbacks were able to stay unbeaten over two games.
