Defending cup holders CSKA are out of this year's competition

CSKA Moscow, defending title holders of the Russian Cup, have been sensationally knocked out of this year's competition having gone down to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of second-tier club Volgar-Gazprom Astrakhan.
