anualmente la revista France Football al mejor jugador europeo y que jugaban en Europa. A partir de

Oro pasó a premiar al mejor jugador del planeta.
La IFFHS (Federación Internacional de Historia y Estadísticas del Fútbol) eligió al holandés
Ruud van Nistelrooy, delantero del Málaga, como el máximo goleador del mundo de la primera
década del siglo (2001-2010).
El holandés sumó 86 tantos, uno más que el francés Thierry Henry, y cierra el podio el
marfileño Didier Drogba, con 83.
