Man United and
Chelsea have been the top two teams in the
Premier League over
the past few seasons, tomorrow they go head-to-head at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea is the on form team
and they will be very dangerous, especially up front tomorrow. Man United on the other hand haven't
been in the best of form and are looking shaky, especially at the back.

It is Friday morning and
Sir Alex Ferguson has finished his pre-match news conference. There
is a bit of good news on the injury front ahead of the all important game between
Man United
and
Chelsea this Sunday.
After missing the midweek 3-3 draw against CSKA Moscow in the Champions League,
Nemanja
Vidic and
Dimitar Berbatov are fit to play on Sunday.

Does it get much better?
Manchester United visits Chelsea this weekend with first place on the line.
I could stop there, but then this wouldn't be much of a preview, would it?
Before we get into the games, check out the TV schedule.

Before yesterday's game, all
Man United needed to do to qualify for the next stage of the
Champions League was to win or draw. Last night there was a six-goal thriller at Old
Trafford where things didn't go the way they were supposed to.
CSKA had got off to the better start but United were starting to control the game, when the
visitors took the lead.

Tonight with a win,
Man United could qualify for the next stage of the
Champions
League. United could be without five first team regulars. Dimitar Berbatov, Nemanja Vidic, Rio
Ferdinand and Ryan Giggs are all struggling with injuries. Wayne Rooney may also be absent due to
his wife giving birth to their first child yesterday.

Man United striker
Wayne Rooney has missed training today ahead of United's Champions
League clash with CSKA Moscow tomorrow. Wayne's wife
Coleen Rooney was due to give birth to
their first child over a week ago.
There is a good chance that Wayne will be missing for the game tomorrow.

So another decent performance sees United secure all three points at Old Trafford. Overall, I
was pleased with the result, but still found a few things troubling. The inability of our three
main strikers to score consistently when given the opportunity is slightly worrying, but Obertan's
EPL debut coupled with Berba's world class finish left me as happy as could be.

Well hello there.
I see you've caught me talking on the phone. Perhaps you are extremely jealous that you don't
have my undivided attention? ... No, I'm not on a phone sex hotline, I'm talking to my cousin
Timitar about my fantastic goal against Blackburn. Ha-HA! It really was quite impressive.

Like so often it wasn't the greatest Manchester United performance but they did deserve the
three points as Blackburn had made them fight hard for it. It was the inspirational Dimitar
Berbatov who had carried United, demonstrating his tricks, flicks and of course a superb piece of
individual skill which broke the deadlock in the 55th minute.

Dimitar Berbatov has been widely praised for his performance in our 2-0 victory over Blackburn
yesterday. It was his goal that put United ahead in the second half after receiving the ball with
his back to goal but expertly turning and slotting it in to the corner.
He is pleased that our patient play paid off and confesses of the relief he feels whenever we
score.

Before I write this, let me admit it's almost 3am and I'm very drunk. It's Halloween, I look
like a zombie, and I've been talking about United all evening.
In my drunkard status I have settled on several points of view:
1. Dimitar Berbatov is a world class player.
2. Antonio Valencia has the makings of a great United winger.

After the effective, if not inspiring, performance of the second string in the Carling Cup
earlier in the week, normal service resumes this weekend as United face Blackburn in the Premier
League.
Rovers enjoyed a relatively safe passage into the quarter finals of that competition that none
of the big guns tend to take very seriously the League Cup themselves on Tuesday night although
Saturday should prove a much tougher hurdle for Sam Allardyce and his swine flu-hit charges to
negotiate.

Valencia's David Villa has put Manchester United and Liverpool on red alert as he fired his
agent, Jose Luis Tamargo. Tamargo has reportedly been sacked for his inability to secure a summer
transfer away from Valencia, and Villa has a long list of suitors, including England's giants.
Real Madrid and Barcelona were strongly linked for a move for the 27 year old over the summer
following his sensational form for Spain, but with the two Spanish clubs since wrapping up deals
for other star strikers (Benzema for Real and Ibrahimovic for Barca), a move to England is on the
cards for Villa.

Yes the ref was lousy, but don't let that mask what was a terrible performance across the pitch
by what could only bee described as a toothless United team at Anfield on Sunday. The final score
of 2 – 0 didn't flatter the home team as they notched up their third win in a row between the
local rivals.

more.

Sheesh! Every match Sir Alex gets 5 minutes of extra time?
While each fan will be watching his club play tomorrow, it will be the Liverpool vs Man Utd
knockout that will occupy centerstage. It is all about establishing narratives.
The club that most pundits, including the Guardian, that oracle of footballing wisdom, picked to
win the Premiership is faced with a situation where this win if it does happen, does not salvage
its season as much as it gives hope that there is a kinder God.

Man United take on a
Liverpool side who have been beaten four times in a
row. Form goes out of the window because it is such a massive game. Last weeks 1-0 loss for
Liverpool and 2-1 win for United will be thrown out of the window.

Moscow on Wednesday.

CSKA Moscow, a win for United would take
them one step closer to the knockout stages. The last time United played in the Luzhniki Stadium

The first 45 minutes between CSKA Moscow and Manchester United was an insult to the legend that
is the Luzhniki stadium. Less than two years ago, it was the scene of United's dramatic (with the

Manchester United vs CSKA Moscow
I believe there is some drama to be had from Group B and I expect this fixture to provide it.
The table at the moment has United with six points and then Wolfsburg and Moscow with three
points.
When United visit Russia they will have a difficult task on their hands.

United have got off to a good start to the season. We have suffered one defeat to Burnley and a
draw to Sunderland, other than that we have won every single game we have played in all
competitions. With a win tonight, United could be all but qualified for the next round of the

It's been quite a week! From beach balls to touchline brawls and slack marking to summit
embarking. Now Moscow and the artificial pitch awaits for Ferguson and his charges where three more
points would go even further to sealing United's progression into the next phase of the Champions
League.
It's worth noting that trips to the Luzhniki Stadium haven't been too unkind in recent years
either, although CSKA certainly won't be a proverbial walk in the park synthetic grass.

It pains me to have to agree with Rafa Benitez. But Mr Zonal Marking is probably right. Not
about zonal marking. But on the notion that the top teams will be losing more often this season as
the league becomes more open and clubs realize that it's not illegal to play two forwards against
the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea.

• It's good to have Edwin Van der Sar back. Bolton may have pulled a goal back, but the big
Dutchman kept his area clear for a large portion of the game and definitely seemed to be a calming
presence at the back. The play that most stands out in my mind is when Van der Sar made a save and
immediately punted the ball 70 yards to the feet of a waiting Dimitar Berbatov, who promptly
launched a counterattack.
