In-from striker Wayne Rooney scored twice for Manchester United on Sunday as the hosts defeated
Fulham 3-0 to go two points clear at the top of the English Premier League. Rooney's goals came
from in the 46th and the 84th minutes to take his tally for the season to 32. Dimitar Berbatov's
header with a minute [.

At this stage of the season, I'm not too bothered how we score or how we get the points, just as
long as we do. Obviously it would be easier on our hearts if we could grab two goals in the first
ten minutes every week but that would be too good to be true.
Today we didn't have to settle for scrappy goals or scrape a win.

Of the many takeaways from the Goodison game, this question qould have been uppermost on quite a
few of us fans. Not because of anything that this game alone showed us about Berbatov, that we
suddenly have our doubts about him. It's more of a gradual process, as Rob has written. It always
has been, with Dimitar.

Yesterday Mr Dimitar Ivanov Berbatov was 29 years young.
Its a good age for a modern footballer. The age where you are at your technically best. Yes, you
may not we 21 anymore, but physically you are normally perfectly balanced with your mental
attributes. Its what managers like to describe as 'at their peak'
However, for Dimi its quite possibly the age that will convince Sir Alex to bin him.

Yesterday morning I saw England covered in snow and ice and so decided to put together a Winter
Weather XI football team. A full team of players with winter weather themed names. Unfortunately I
was short on imagination, and the very best I could come up with was Man Utd's Bulgarian striker
Dimitar Brrrrbatov.

The task of making people forget about Cristiano Ronaldo would not be an easy job, but in his first
5 months in a Manchester United uniform, Antonio Valencia has chipped in to help compete for the
English Premier League title in a major way.
One of the bright young stars in the 2006 World Cup for Ecuador, the Villarreal winger was on
everyone's radar prior to coming to the English Premier League by joining Wigan.

News emerged recently suggesting that Ferguson will not spend money in January on another
striker; choosing instead to place his faith in the goalscoring of Berbatov to complement
Rooney's.
The article was quick to pounce on Ferguson's rationale; highlighting ignorant yet pivotalÂ
stats about Dimitar's goalscoring: ‘18 goals in 58 games and just five in his past 28 matches for
the club.

Whilst it's great to see the likes of Owen Hargreaves, Ji-Sung Park and Dimitar Berbatov
present, it's not so great to notice Edwin Van der Sar, Jonny Evans, John O'Shea, Gary Neville and
of course, Rio Ferdinand, are all missing.
Of course, it's only Besiktas, meaning Van der Sar wasn't expected to play anyway, but let's
hope the knock to the knee he received against Everton doesn't keep him out at the weekend.

Spurs have went through a complete rebuilding process of the team, and have spent £150 million
in transfers over the last 16 months meaning that they have out spent the whole of the Premiership,
including the top 4, apart from big spending Manchester City.

United @ Liverpool: A must win game for under fire manager Rafa Benitez, but one that if he

then

Steven Gerrard AND Fernando Torres are injured for Liverpool's trip to Sunderland.
Mayday Mayday Engine 1 is out. Crap Engine 2 is out as well. We're going down. We're going
down. Eject Eject!
Liverpool is pretty piss poor without one of the two. With both gone and Darren Bent scoring
goals for fun, it would take a brave man or a fool to bet on a Liverpool point even.

Could
Man United star
Dimitar Berbatov be hitting some goal scoring form? Last night
he scored not one, not two, but three goals for Bulgaria. This coincides with the news that
Berbatov has become a dad- congratulations to him and his girlfriend.
The Bulgarian captain and Man United striker helped his team to a comfortable 6-2 win over Georgia
at the Vassil Levski stadium in Sofia.

The English Premier League had eight matches on Saturday with most of the top teams winning. The
one shocking result of the day was Wigan Athletic upseting Chelsea 3-1 to give them their first
loss of the season. The other top teams such as Arsenal, Manchester United, and Liverpool all won.
Here's a recap of these tops teams in the English Premier League from Saturday, September 26, 2009

I have watched this again and again, I hasten to add I have no axe to grind with Man United, but
it's clear that Dimitar has dived and the resultant free kick did of course change the course of
the game. Shouldn't simulation result in a ban regardless if it wins a free kick and not a
penalty?

marksman fail to realise that scoring goals is just one facet of his game.

Oh, to be a fly in the half time dressing room!
Whilst it's a god awful cliche whoever first coined the phrase "It's a game of two halves"
(perhaps Jimmy Greaves?) was essentially describing perfectly what occurred at the newly named DW
Stadium.
Sir Alex must have been fuming at the way we lacked that cutting edge, and have done for our
first two matches, and as such must have given all concerned the hair dryer treatment at full
force.

With Manchester United's £16 million deal for Wigan's Antonio Valencia set to be sealed today,
