Liverpool legend Dietmar Hamann has come to Rafa Benitez's aid by saying "People calling for Rafa's
head are very premature, he has been there five years and has improved them every season.
Rafa has got everything a top-class manager needs, he will be turn it around. The team is good
enough to pull through, they were pretty unlucky against Fulham.

"There is a massive difference in money but we have better fans than United."
I don't know whether I'd describe the difference as 'massive', but yes, Rafael Benitez has spent
more money than Sir Alex Ferguson.

Eduardo, UEFA's scapegoat.
Let me begin by conveying how absolutely disgusted I am about this entire episode. First the
dive by Eduardo (lets not kid ourselves, it WAS a dive) and then the hypocritical way UEFA has
dealt with it.
We see the same circumstances every week. A player suffers insignificant contact and goes down
and is awarded (or not) a penalty.

Time for you all to feel sorry for footballers without a home for the new season!
Footballers rarely deserve sympathy in today's cash-drenched game.
Fans are fed up with hearing of players being paid six figures for a week's work, especially when
that involves pulling on their boots for a few hours each day.

It's not often you feel sorry for footballers. After all, their heartache is pretty minimal when
you hold it up against the light of the real world.
Three weeks till payday and not a penny in the bank account? Well Carlos here never got a single
text off Sir Alex in all the time he played for Manchester United!

The transfer merry-go-round is starting to wind itself up. A few big money moves have already taken
place - Ronaldo, Kaka, Glen Johnson - and the next few days are bound to see some more cash flying
around.

Not good news for former Anfield man. According to The Times, Manchester City midfielder Dietmar
Hamann is being sued by betting firm Sporting Index over £600,000 he owes for gambling losses that
date back to May 2006. By December last year, Hamann, 35, who spent seven years playing for
Liverpool, had racked .

After plenty of speculation, it's finally happened. Just hours after AC Milan said that Kaka wasn't
for sale, the newswires went crazy over the fact Manchester City has indeed opened talks to
purchase the star player, and the figures are simply staggering. The 100 million euro purchase
price, yes it's there.

EPL Para-Roundup Dirk Kuijt converted 2 PK's to beat 9-man Everton (Howard got his hand to both PKs

Led by the magical, enigmatic Elano, Man City were a class above Newcastle United, as they
convincingly won 3-1. The Toon side played well, and against any other side, may have come away
with a point. Obefemi Martin scored a gem of a goal, further reinforcing the belief that he is a
scorer of great goals, not a great goal scorer.
Overall, the Man City team played well.

Is it just me or has Man City made all the right moves? First they accept the bid of the Thai
version of Abramovich. Then they hire one of the most successful unemployed-at-the-time coaches in
Sven-Göran Eriksson. Finally, they give Sven a huge spending purse to buy what he feels the team
needs.
The thing is, though, it's no coincidence that Eriksson chose to come to Man City.

I wasn't going to write anything else about this match, but I just can't help myself. This was a
tremendous match, exciting, intense, and fun to watch. Basically it was Micah Richards' 'coming
out' match as, despite similarly great performances from Richard Dunne and Peter Schmeichel, Jr,
overall he takes Man of the Match honors. Didi Hamann also stepped up in the second as his calming
presence was ever crucial.
