With the season is moving towards the final stages, I thought it was high time I produced a
follow up to last year's ‘Brazil: the talent factory' post. Once again, there has been an
abundance of exciting new players that have caught the eye in their first season in Série A.
Of the players I picked out last year; Palmeiras' Keirrison was bought by Barcelona and has been
loaned out to Benfica.

Up until last week, the Brasileirao seemed the tournament no one wanted to win. The favorites
kept losing points with pale football. But the 30th round shows signs of change by two sides.
Flamengo and Atletico-MG want to take the title home after a long time.
While Palmeiras, Sao Paulo, Inter and Goias gave another display of loss of steam, the two sides
pocketed the three points in very important matches.

After the 29th round of Brasileiro, it seems no one wants to take the title home. Like in the
last round, when only one club on the top won, the leaders collectively failed again. Palmeiras,
Sao Paulo and Atletico-MG lost. Inter and Goias tied at home. And, in this way, Flamengo, the 6th
side on the table, was the first team on the top to win.

A dejeted looking Souza and Marcos as Náutico thrash the leaders 3-0
Despite a shock 3-0 loss at strugglers Náutico, Palmeiras remain five points clear at the top
of the Brasileiro with nine games to go. As usual when the Palestra Itália outfit slip up, none of
their main rivals were able to take advantage as no one in the top five managed to win.

There's nothing that can be demanded from Dunga and his players.
The team was already qualified, which turned the match against Bolivia into a open lab in the
skies. The skies of La Paz took the reserve side of Brazil closer to hell than heaven. The 3600
meters above sea level suffocated the players.

Down and out in La Paz
A lacklustre Brazil went down 2-1 in La Paz against Bolivia and so ended Dunga's team's 19 game
unbeaten run.
Olivares and Marcelo Moreno had given the homeside a two-goal cushion before  Nilmar pulled one
back in the second-half. The combination of high altitude and poor attitude meant that Brazil
rarely threatened and the whole match had that ‘end of season' feel to it.

Blue is the colour
For their penultimate game in the WC qualifiers, Brazil take on Bolivia in La Paz and Dunga is
expected to make changes from his regular starting line-up. With Kaká, Gilberto Silva and Luis
Fabiano all rested, the coach could test Josué, Miranda, and Diego Souza. The latter two have had
good seasons for São Paulo and Palmeiras respectively but have yet to secure a place in the squad
for next year's finals.

On the 27th round of Brasileirao, Palmeiras gave an important step towards the title by keeping
the 5 point lead over Sao Paulo, the second team in the table. And it wasn't a simple victory. It
was a clear display of the discipline, power and luck (why not?) against Santos at Vila
Belmiro.

It appears that Santos seems to have a larger army of female supporters as opposed

Palmeiras' Cleiton Xavier, Vagner Love and Diego Souza celebrate another win
Muricy Ramalho's Palmeiras came from behind to take all three points against Santos in the Vila
Belmiro. The 3-1 win left the Palestra Itália outfit five clear at the top and even with 11 rounds
to go, it's difficult to see anyone dislodging Palmeiras from their position as leaders.

Now would be the ideal time for Dopey to experiment seeing how the seleção
have already qualified for the World Cup. What we don't get, however, is tio's love for

and it's nice to see Naldo and Diego Souza back again.

This is a bit a late, but it confirms what i wrote earlier this week about the 25 round of
Brasileirao. It was a Palmeiras round. The club visited Cruzeiro and performed like a club coached
by Muricy Ramalho: solid in the defense and precise in the counter-attacks. The winning goal, by
Vagner Love, was constructed in such fashion.

The 24th round of Campeonato Brasileiro was all Sao Paulo's.
Sao Paulo received the surprisingly good side of Avai at Morumbi. In the first-half, Avai made
things difficult for Sao Paulo, as the home team offered loose defensive action in the midfield. In
the second-half, however, Sao Paulo decided to suffocate the visitors.

With the suspension of Kaka, Lucio, Luis Fabiano and Ramires and the injury of Robinho, Dunga
called for the match against Chile four players who play in Brazil it is important to remember that
those playing overseas could not be called because of the rules that FIFA has. With that, Dunga
called defender Andre Dias (Sao Paulo), midfielder Cleiton Xavier (Palmeiras) and forwards Diego
Tardelli (Atletico-MG) and Diego Souza (Palmeiras).

Amazing piece of skill from Diego Souza of Palmeiras in their game against Fluminense. With his
