Footballers in Uruguay hit back at FA for giving their team-mate, Luis Suarez an eight-match ban
and a £40,000 fine for racial abuse.
An FA independent regulatory commission found Suarez guilty of racially abusing the Manchester
United player Patrice Evra during the Premier League match at Anfield on 15 October.

While the Europeans were getting close to the end of their Euro 2012 qualifying adventures,
across the Atlantic, the South Americans were only just kicking off their World Cup qualifying
campaign.
In a six-goal thriller in a rainy Montevideo, buck-toothed assassin Luis Suarez got foxy in the
box(y) to open the scoring in the fourth minute.

Last summer, Uruguay shocked the world by advancing all the way to the semifinals of the 2010
World Cup. On Friday, they started their path to the next World Cup in style.
Uruguay, which also won the 2011 Copa America this summer, opened their 2014 World Cup
qualifying campaign in CONMEBOL with a 4-2 win over Bolivia.
Having an unconvincing short debut in the premiership with Liverpool didn't discourage new
signing, Sebastian Coates, regarding his future career at Anfield as the Uruguayan is convinced
that he can have a great career at the club.
Despite of his confidence, Coates does acknowledged that getting success with the Reds won't be
an easy task considering he is now being faced to perform in an environment so much different from
his previous.

Just to get the message across, the Youth Fenerbahce Association's European branch also put on a
soddin' welcoming ceremony for the Uruguayan centre-half in the middle of Charles de Gaulle airport
when he touched down at the other end!
Lugano is about to sign with the Paris Saint-Germain. It's certain to happen in the next day or
so. I predict that's a decisive move for the PSG to win the championship this year. Diego Lugano
will bring the garra that can overcome any obstacle. Well done Leonardo!

Fenerbahce have revealed that Uruguay captain Diego Lugano has left the club to join Ligue 1
side PSG.
I have always liked the Gunners. In the not so long existence of this blog, I have gone from
unambiguous faith in the long-term vision of the club to the need to make some changes that would
help in making this vision come true. Of the 4 points I had recommended, so far 2 have
happened:
Buy a world class goal keeper.

Two goals by Diego Forlan and another from Luis Suarez helped Uruguay win the Copa America for a
record 15th time as they beat Paraguay 3-0.
Suarez gave Uruguay the lead in a match it dominated in the opening minutes. Receiving a pass in
the area, the Liverpool forward beat defender Dario Veron to score from a deflected left-footed
shot that went in off the far post behind ‘keeper Justo Villar.

nerve-wracking shootout to end proceedings.

Uruguay y Perú abrieron el Grupo C de la Copa América 2011 con un empate 1-1, sumando la cuarta
igualdad en los escasos cinco partidos que van del torneo. El resultado dejó un sabor amargo para

minutes of last night's 'friendly' between Holland and Uruguay didn't land the Arsenal crock in an
Intensive Care ward.
