Atletico Madrid's revival under new coach Diego Simeone continued on Monday as Diego Godin fired
the winner in a battling 1-0 victory at Osasuna that lifted Atletico up to seventh in La Liga.
The Uruguay defender bundled in from close range at a corner just before the break and forwards
Adrian and Radamel Falcao missed gilt-edged chances to extend the lead.
Liverpool are the latest club to be linked with a move for Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin who
has reiterated his desire to move to the Premier League.
The Uruguay international was strongly linked with a switch to Chelsea over the summer but it
appears as though Andre Villas-Boas will now move to sign the cheaper option in Bolton centre-back
Gary Cahill.

According to The Telegraph, Uruguayan central defender Diego Godin is believed to be on Kenny
Dalglish's radar in order to solidify Liverpool's defensive line. With Carragher ageing and Agger
injury-prone, Liverpool were always believed to be in for a centre back during the summer transfer
window, and their interest in Godin exemplifies that.

Chelsea's plan to rejuvenate the team may also filled with the addition of another defender,
despite already signing David Luiz in the summer, as one of their transfer target, Diego Godin, has

According to Diego Forlan, Atletico Madrid have turned down a offer for rivals Real Madrid for
him.
"Real Madrid contacted (Atletico's majority shareholder) Miguel Angel Gil and he rejected the
offer," said Forlan. "Gil spoke with my representative and told them he had rejected it and there's
nothing more to add.

Reports in the Spanish press yesterday were carrying quotes supposedly attributed to Miguel
Angel Gil, in which Atletico Madrid's majority shareholder claimed that Chelsea had made an
audacious €60 million 'double bid' for both striker Sergio Aguero and centre-back Diego
Godin.

For me it's very interesting because as you can imagine the rumours and speculation will run wild
now until the window closes at the end of this month, but after Carlo spoke last night and stated
that Luiz was the only one, it now seems as though Carlo was pulling our leg or in fact he isn't
aware once again of the Owner's intentions.
In the Mirror this morning, rumours are also rife that Chelsea are looking to bolster their
defensive and attacking options by looking at Diego Godin and Diego Forlan at Athletico Madrid.
Godin is valued at £15m and would provide cover for Alex who remains out for another month. For me
I haven't really seen alot of this bloke so would need your opinions for those who have seen him.
