One of the perks of being a professional futbolito is obviously getting new cars sent to
your doorstep every season (listen up, AC Milan fans!) While the European elite get to drive their
shiny new Audis, Atletico Madrid's players received keys to our
favourite car of all time instead a Volkswagen Beetle!
We don't like to talk about transfer rumours. We especially don't like to talk about transfer
rumours between windows. Mostly because none of the information floating around is true, accurate,
or otherwise factual. And mostly because it's all crap that's been rehashed using stuff that was
floating around six months ago that even back then wasn't true, accurate, or otherwise factual.
"Marhaban!" to Egypt, Atletico Madrid! That's right, just when you
thought the guys had enough of excursions to cola-making factories, Rojiblancos have done
it again with an epic expedition to the Pyramids of Giza, one of the Seven
Wonders Of The World.
This probably has to be one of the worst excursions ever excuted in football
history seriously. There have been some potential bombers preceding this German football team
visiting the zoo, Spanish national team climbing boats, Dutch Oranje heading to Brazil's Copacabana
beach in their trainers and more recently, Real Madrid going go-karting.
The Guardian's Gallery is, by and large, brilliant. But every now and again, someone ascends to
the levels of the masters before them. This is one such case, via the Kun Aguero lineage of
recent.
Real genius, if only because Diego was chosen as the clothed one.
There's nothing wrong with a little bit of positive outlook when moving clubs, hoping to make
the most of one's experience, no matter the daunting task ahead.
It's also a properly good idea to know one's opponents. Diego, on a one-year loan to Atletico
Madrid, apparently does not.
"I am glad to join Atletico, I was really eager to play here because this is a great club and I
could not have arrived at a better moment," Diego said to reporters at his unveiling.
Phew! It was that time again, and as per usual things were manic. We at In The Stands struggled to
keep up with all the kerfuffle and constant will-he-wont-he debacles. However, after much
journalistic endeavours, we have managed to finally pin down the most significant transfers on a
thoroughly exciting last day of the transfer window.
As I sit here watching Sky Sports News tediously round up a number of what will probably end up
being completely insignificant transfers, I can't help but think of the deals being rushed through
on the continent which could have a far greater impact on the global game.
Looking beyond the narrow gaze of our national mainstream media, I have highlighted three
continental transfers were noting and as intriguing as anything likely to happen involving any
Premier League club tonight.
Transfer deadline day is just around the corner.
What Felix needs to know: all potential transfer targets need to be on the official DFL transfer
list by 12pm tomorrow. All paperwork for the transfer needs to be send to the DFL headquarters by
6pm tomorrow.
Here is what Felix already got done since Saturday or is currently busy working on:
According to reports in Spain and Germany, Wolfsburg midfielder Diego is set to clinch a move to
La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid. The Brazilian midfielder has been highly sought after by some of
Europe's top clubs, but will now relish the chance to help Atletico rebuild this season.
According to Inside Futbol, Diego's father has been spotted at the Vicente Calderon
ahead of a final agreement between club and player.
ATLETICO DE MADRID has excluded this morning from the squad that will be travelling to Portugal for
their 2º leg Europa League preliminary game against Vitoria Guimaraes forward DIEGO FORLAN at
personal request. The Uruguayan International is negotiating with INTER MILAN at this moment his
transfer, which suggests that it could be made official in the next hours.
It has been a quiet summer transfer window in the Bundesliga. Except for Bayern's usual
trophy-less hangover spending spree, there really hasn't been much to report. Most teams were
content to add a fresh batch of unknown youngsters, while trying to get some of their older
personnel off the wage list.
(Bleacher Report) The Werder Bremen playmaker did not fare as well in Italy as he had planned as he
was quickly sold back to the Bundesliga at the start of this season and Juventus then locked up
Alberto Aquilani on loan.

Considered one of the best midfielders in the world only a year or so ago, at the age of 26 he
still has plenty of time to develop and at a cut rate of around £8.
SPANISH FOOTBALL Club ATLETICO DE MADRID is rumoured from Germany to be the soon "new home" of
WOLFSBURG Brazilian midfielder DIEGO RIBAS DA CUNHA (Diego). The 26 year old has already a relative
long list of Clubs were he has given services as Santos, Porto, Werder Bremen, Juventus & now,
Wolfsburg. Diego The Brazilian has been on the list of Atletico for some years, & now has the best
It's that time of year. A time for rumour mongering and acres of fresh effluvium churned out
hourly. It can't be avoided. We'll try to make this something less than entirely painful:
Sergio Aguero
"I said long ago that when I wanted to go, I would say so publicly," said Aguero in a statement
on his website.

He says very little, outside of the bland metronomic answers we come to expect from men in his
position so when Juventus Direttore Generale Beppe Marotta gave an honest and forthright interview
with Corriere dello Sport, we should be all ears. The site purposely avoids transfer rumour and
speculation but, much like this previous interview this seemed different from the outset.
In case you missed it, February 5 was Cristiano Ronaldo's birthday. The Madrid goalscorer
probably celebrated by taking the day to think about himself.
31 year old Brazilian Ricardo Villar signed on with FC Dallas.
Bright Dike was drafted 12th overall by Columbus a year ago. He was released before the season
began but caught on with Portland in the USL.
Two rules permeate all when it comes to penalties:
i. The player who suffered the foul never, ever takes the penalty. Largely due to the fact that
he's likely to have just suffered a knock, but also because it's just bad juju.
ii. Never take the ball from a teammate. Even if you don't know who the hell he is due to a
recent arrival in the January transfer window.
