Zavon Hines, grown not made Zavon Hines is the rare English academy product to
make it all the way up the youth ranks and onto the first team - for both club and (almost) country
- and today he showed again why sometimes pure speed, will and trickery is really all you need. While Hines (4. Click to continue reading...
I don't know about you but I'm still smarting from the two points dropped at Upton Park last
Sunday. Having watched a recording of the game (I was at Wembley watching the NFL game) I'm even
more depressed. We were so in control in the first half but we simply don't seem to have the killer
instinct.
Hammers fans who watched the riveting match against Arsenal voted in their player performances as
such: This was posted on Iain Dale's popular, West Ham Till I Die site. Extremely good result for Zola and the boys, especially as I wrote previously in my preview that
that victory would be a near impossible task. Click to continue reading...
Arsenal surrendered a two goal lead against a spirited West Ham side who did well to deny
Arsenal much fluency in central midfield. _______________________________________________________________________________
At 2-0, Alan Hansen said Arsenal could only beat themselves and as it was, the Gunners
contrived to concede two late goals.
Image by wonker via Flickr A valiant effort from West Ham saw them coming from two goals down to
draw their Premier League encounter 2-2 with Arsenal last night. While Arsenal would have loved to
win the match as they would've had a comfortable third position ahead of Tottenham in the table,
West Ham still [. Click to continue reading...
Talk of a bunch of self entitled players. This team will not get a "major trophy", or even a
self titled piddling little one. For the second match in a row, Arsenal decided to "wing" it.
Wenger's memos of bravado do not seem to be filtering down to the players. At the very least,
one would expect some positive response to such a bold and unequivocal statement.
If there's one question I don't miss from the Yahoo! gig it's, "Where are the points?" We'll leave
that to the Fantasist. But without knowing a definite number, how did you do? I had a much better
day today, getting goals from RVP and Diamanti to add to Saturday's Drogba strike and Sonko's clean
sheet. Click to continue reading...
Hello Gooners. West Ham 2 Arsenal 2 it finished. Excuse the rage I'm feeling right now but I'll
try not to be downright acidic in my assessment in London Derby Number 2 against the Hammers.
Complacency, CarltonCole and Choking. 3 C's I said we needed to be wary of against the
Hammers.
The third C-word to consider is choking. Can you have both 'choking' and 'complacency' in one
game. I believe you can. Hello, Gooners wherever in the world you are reading this. As promised
this is my second preview-ish post to the game against West Ham. Why two posts BEFORE a game?
Special games need special focus.
It's been seven matches since West Ham last tasted the joy of victory. Struggling from defensive
lapses, visibly lacking goalscoring power and down on luck, West Ham faces a difficult London derby
against "le magnifique" Arsenal. To hope for victory would be bordering on impossible but there is
reason to be bullish. Click to continue reading...
All through this week I have been trying to find reasons (and excuses) for West Ham's lack of form
in the Barclays Premier League. But today I believed that I may have found the reason as to why the
Hammers have failed to receive rewards for their slick one-touch football. Filtering through the English Premiership news and results, two missing players stood out and Zola
have not been able to compensate for their absence. Click to continue reading...
.Stoke City ended Everton's winning spree as they held them 1-1 at Goodison Park Stadium in their
Premier League match. The in form hosts had won their last five games but had to be happy with a
tame draw here. The determined Stoke side was the first to score through Robert Huth when he beat

It was a bad week for West Ham. In the wake of the Battle at Boleyn, the English Football
Association had decided to charge West Ham with four offences and the club has 14 days to respond
to these charges. Hopefully the punishment will be justified rather than just an publicity attempt
by the FA chairman to set an example. Click to continue reading...
I'm no fan of Monday night games, yet given the exertions against United last Sunday then
extra-time against Fulham on Wednesday, the extra forty-eight hours rest will undoubtedly be
beneficial to us - especially considering the side has remained virtually the same throughout the
season so far. On paper, West Ham at home should be a fixture that we view as a winnable one. Click to continue reading...
The Hammers were out to get over a dismal start to the season. Liverpool was ready to steady a
shaky ship say that five times fast and improve on their 4-0 win over Burnley from the week before.
Both teams came to play at Upton Park on Saturday, and neither time gave in throughout the entirety
of the match.

defence continues to come into question. This time it was the pace of Hines, in addition to their
recurring vulnerability at set pieces, that was their undoing. Click to continue reading...
Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez believes Fernando Torres can get even better after watching his deadly
striker score twice in a 3-2 win over West Ham. A pulsating game in East London was decided by the Spaniard's second half header with just fifteen
minutes left on the clock. Torres opened the scoring in the 20th minute before West Ham's Alessandro Diamanti was fortunate to
level from the penalty spot after slipping as he struck the ball. Click to continue reading...

Liverpool travel to Upton Park today to face a Hammers side that has 4 points from 4 games,
losing away to Wigan their last time out. Last time the Reds visited the Boleyn Ground they cruised
to a 3-0 win, with Gerrard netting twice and Ryan Babel finishing the scoring off late.
This time out could be different Liverpool are a club desperately in need of finding consistent
form, and the performance against Debrecen on Wednesday was less than encouraging.
West Ham's new Mexico striker Guillermo Franco only signed on Thursday and is unlikely
to feature. Alessandro Diamanti may make his full debut, while Kieron Dyer (hamstring) returns along with
Herita Ilunga whose cheekbone injury has healed.
Liverpool travel to West Ham on Saturday evening aiming to keep pace with the leading pack. The Reds have won their last two Premier League games to steady the ship after losing two of their
first three encounters. West Ham have not won since the opening day of the season and they will be keen to secure their
first home success of the campaign. Click to continue reading...
Ahead of this match at the DW Stadium, Gianfranco Zola has no injury worries except calf trouble
from Jack Collision sustained during a Wales U-21 match. More good news is that Valon Behrami and
Alessandro Diamanti had a fantastic reserves match against Birmingham City. Behrami and Diamanti
are fast becoming great friends and that is sure to be helping Diamanti settle in at West Ham. Click to continue reading...
Iain Dale, a celebrity West Ham supporter since 1974, has an engaging blog on the Hammers - West
Ham Till I Die. In there, Iain had set up a very nice voting panel after each match for visitors to
the blog to rate the players performance for that match. The condition set was that only those who
actually watched the match live and/or on TV shall vote. Click to continue reading...
West Ham have signed Livorno striker Alessandro Diamanti for an undisclosed fee on a
five-year contract. Diamanti, 26, scored 18 goals in 37 league and cup matches last season as Livorno were promoted to
Serie A. Diamanti said he was looking forward to linking up with Hammers boss and fellow Italian Gianfranco
Zola.
After a horrific week at West Ham United, what better way than to get a boost from the transfer
market. If the transfer rumours are to be believed, then there is a very high chance that three top
players are coming to grace the stage that is Upton Park. Are there any credibility to these
players strengthening the first team? Click to continue reading...
Livorno's Alessandro Diamanti really wanted a move to West Ham. I mean, really really wanted a
move to West Ham. So much so that things like dignity and not acting like a child who isn't allowed
to have the Jonas Brother action figure they want no longer mattered. Which leads us to his expert
strategy in getting himself sold.
Livorno ended their one year stay in Serie B on Saturday with a 3-0 win over Brescia in the
promotion play-off final second leg (first leg was 2-2). The Amaranto got two goals from their two
star players Francesco Tavano and Alessandro Diamanti before Martin Bergvold added a third. The
promotion is a great joy for Livorno, who were expected to be a force in Serie B this season and
grab an automatic promotion place.
Livorno crushed Danny Szetela's Brescia side 3-0 in the final leg of their promotion playoff and
will return to Serie A next season. Livorno's win capped a 5-2 aggregate win in the Serie B
playoffs. Lingering injuries kept Danny Szetela out of the side which will remain in Serie B for at
least one more season. Click to continue reading...
Roma were held at home by Livorno last night and hence dropped two vital points in the chase to
beat Inter to another Scudetto. They'll rue a lot of wasted chances as really they should've been a
