... Lukas Magera We can name Swindon Town boss Paolo Di Canio as our latest Shakespeare of the
teamsheet. The Italian gaffer wisely paired up: Joe Devera, Lukas Magera Thanks to OTP reader Ian

1. Poor old Olympic cycling champion Chris Hoy probably had another busy Sunday explaining that
he's not a referee to irate Manchester City fans. 2. Great to see Paolo Di Canio at the centre of
the biggest shock of the weekend as Swindon saw off Wigan. He might be left disappointed by his
hopes to [.

He used to push refs.. now Di Canio just attacks dugouts
I enjoyed the game between Wimbledon and Swindon at Kingsmeadow on Saturday but I missed a lot
of the match. It wasn't that it was a poor game. Far from it. It was just that there was a human
firecracker called Paolo Di Canio standing in front of the Swindon bench and he was going off every
couple of minutes.
Swindon boss Paolo Di Canio was never to far away from controversy, but in 2001 the former
Italian talisman was awarded a FIFA Fair Play Award for showing the spirit of Fair Play after
catching a ball in a goal scoring position to allow the opposition keeper Everton's Paul Gerrard
receive attention after an injury in a 1-1 draw at Upton Park.
After Swindon manager Paolo Di Canio's recent proclamation that he wanted "a team of 100 Paolo
Di Canios", experts in cloning and eugenics have been brought into the fold at the Wiltshire club
to try to make his dream a reality.
Interim Chairman Jeremy Wray is believed to have personally ordered the groundsmen from their
shed, and set about creating a temporary science laboratory there instead.
Natural athlete Paolo Di Canio has been pure gold for OTP material since taking up the Swindon Town
manager's post and the latest episode might be our favourite so far. The zany Italian inadvertently

"This way?"
According to the Beeb, Swindon Town manager Paolo di Canio unwittingly completed the town's half
marathon after making an impromptu right turn on the two-mile fun run course he was supposed to be
running.
43-year-old Di Canio was present to sound the horn to start Sunday's 13.

Cheating is a growing epidemic in football these days, as is the organisational apathy and enabling
attitude of fans that allows it to flourish. With a self-confessed cheat running UEFA, it comes as
no surprise to me that we're getting to the stage where a manager will have no qualms about
publicly exhorting his team to cheat, which is exactly what Swindon manager Paolo Di Canio has
done.
Take a tumble Enthusiastic Swindon Town manager Paolo Di Canio has said he will instruct his squad
to dive in future after seeing his side's appeals turned down at the weekend because the players
stayed on their feet. The Italian was furious after the Robins' 2-0 defeat at Macclesfield after
Matt Ritchie's penalty appeal was [.

There are two ways you can view this next video.
You can either see it as a) Swindon manager Paolo Di Canio merely failing to carry the weight of
midfielder Matt Ritchie during a fevered goal celebration or b) Swindon manager Paolo Di Canio
keeping his streak of brawling with his own players alive by laying Matt Ritchie out with 'some
kind of modified touchline spinebuster maneuvre'.

Swindon boss Paolo Di Canio shows he's still as feisty as ever after his teams 3-1
defeat against Southampton last week in the Carling Cup by fighting with his own striker Leon
Clarke following the final whistle.

Amazing, really, that it's taken this long, but Swindon manager Paolo Di Canio managed to come
to blows with one of his own players in the tunnel at the County Ground after last night's 3-1
Carling Cup defeat to Southampton.
According to the Beeb, Swindon striker Leon Clarke got himself embroiled in a 'heated debate'
with fitness coach after the final whistle when Di Canio intervened and attempted to shepherd
Clarke down the tunnel by tugging his shirt a move that didn't go down too well.
Who would have thought the day would come when we would Paolo Di Canio in management? I
didn't but it did happen as on May 20th2011 he agreed a deal to be the manager of recently
relegated side Swindon Town and May 23rd he was presented to the press, a fashionable 40 minutes
late to his own press conference.
Returning to these pages for the first time since reviewing Hunting Grounds back in April 2010,
NUJ member Niall Slater ponders over the recent controversy at Swindon following the arrival of new
manager Paolo Di Canio. Any visitor to the County Ground on a Saturday afternoon is virtually
guaranteed to hear fans in the Town End chant their Oxford-baiting song ending in the following
couplet: "
When last we left Swindon Town, the Robins were putting the finishing touches on a lamentable
2010/11 campaign that saw them relegated from League One and undergoing the process of
disassembly. Beneficent chairperson Andrew Fitton chose to step down after having cleaned up
Swindon's financial flubs from the past but exhausted after a long and disappointing season which
was to have season the Robins challenge for Championship promotion rather than battling the
drop.
FistedAway can today exclusively bring you details of a memo discarder
by Swindon Town's PR department, which was exclusively found after exclusively rummaging through
the (exclusive) bins outside the County Ground.
The document, from interim Chairman Jeremy Wray, sets out the useful phrases which may be used
by any staff members 'put on the spot' by journalists asking difficult questions about new manager
Paolo Di Canio's well-publicised political views:
- "Look, not everyone agrees with Paolo's methods.
